Anyone know if its possible to pack out the centre bore, ie is it safe to have a ring made up to sit in there? Toyota wheels are 5x100 et 35, which sounds great to me, only the guy selling the set im looking at says the centre bore is 70mm. Is this a goer or a non starter?? :-P

that must be just awsome fun. Defo in need of 2 more wheels being driven though!
-
Well i never knew about these, very interesting. Like the badge, almost gothic looking!

I wouldnt jump to any concusions bud, just speak to Vince for some advice. I'm sure it will be fine.

might be a wheel bearing i guess although it should still handle ok and that would make wirring noise when cornering hard. Could be a track rod or ball joint, it all takes a pounding with that motor up front. whats been replaced and whats original?? If the track rods nacked the front wheels may try to go pidgeon toed, or the oposite i cant remember, that will take the inner or outer edges off the tyres depending which way they are trying to pull

nice one Trigg, be using that!

At least 10k imo (lol) Problem you have asking that question as that nobody sell them together they split them. 4500 for a good sorted vr and then around 1500-2k for the sc kit. i suspect you would stuggle to get 6.5k for the 2 together which is why they get split.

Biggerbigben - Golf sold.. another new project!

I think i have a video (well audio) of you going up the road leaving E38 actually, if you turned left. If it was your car is feyhoooooooooooking madly quick and sounded uber cool. As for the sale wtf !! Hope its not because i said hi at e38! As i said on Jay's post, i can see that people who build cars like this are never going to sit back on completion and enjoy that car for yrs, they allways need to be working on something and a new project means selling to finance it. If its just for financial reason though, that basically sucks and i really feel for you bud i really do! and NO IT DOESNT NEED A RESPRAY, not to us with normal standards ;-) -
wind up city prob some bloke with a 106 thats just plain jelous prob just the rear spoiler thats real!

Wuhooooooo, at last i'm guilty as charged :D: Fitted a VF9 Stg2 kit 3 weeks ago (took me 18hrs   ), then drove like an old women running it in for 400 miles. Up to Stealth on Friday for Vince to map it, then on to E38, but hardly tickled it really. But on the way home yesturday I barely came off the loud pedal and, well spank my trousers its awsome. You lot play it down i think, I was in no way prepared for that kind of acceleration. Went out again just now and im still shaking! Just unbeleivable, feels like its going to take off in 4th at 6k, and 2nd is just plain savage. I LOVE IT   Big thanks to Vince at Stealth for a perfectly behaved map which has literaly not missed a beat in all kinds of driving scenarios and is super smooth! Kev for badgering me into getting one sourcing one and all the advice and not least Karl (KadVR6), for giving me a sump and lots of other bits when you didnt know me from adam, thanks mate. I am however now endowed with such a huge credit card i cant afford to drive the thing!

What a civilised conversation! I agree with all so far, and would add to level the field, that its male t.atts with spaxo's (not you Jim) that put our insurance premiums up. I've seen 4, yes 4 "modded" saxo's on their roof in the last 3 weeks!! 3 of which i have seen being driven rediculously around town/ring road. My other half knows a fair old bit about cars, which makes it increasingly difficult to get new stuff past her because she notices.

Fingers crossed for you mate. mine initially failed due to a faulty maf last friday. few tweaks and she went through ;-) then put it straight back lol! Better too rich than too lean, although the oils a bit smelly ! Really hope you get it up to 38, got to here it and see all these new bits dude!

Lucky you chose cream leather

still miss my mk1 gti, had it 8 yrs and did 197000 miles in it lol :-(
-
prob only broke the intake mani, but how much metal ended up in the engine :-(
-
I recon we could cut that grass shorter
-
Once you sort it it might be worth dropping the oil if its running that rich, cuz twill be thinned out and less effective.
-
lol, thanks Trigg, didnt spot that !

how was i surposed to know she was your sister

I'm sure G-Werks is round here somewhere

Wise words in this thread Mr OSV. Its what they are worth too you at the end of the day. I never think they look quite right on darker C's, better on Mk2s. But your car is different and i'd challenge anyone to say they dont love em on your car in the flesh!! So your selling a set ;-)
