  1. what where who how much is that then?
  2. Im quite suprised you didnt go for the blower mate with a nice recondition motor in there. The 1200 for the 24v and selling your schrick would have got you most of the way there. Hang on a minute, you havnt mentioned the schrick, um wheres that going??????????????????????????
  3. Who is fitting your 24v bud and any idea on the likely bill. You've only just had that mocal fitted mate, and you had to put up with me cr.ping on all day to boot!

I think you can buy ones that stick in the rear window mate, inside. Volvo estates have them for sure. They are wafer thin and basiclly look like the heated rear window element but smaller. Where you get them and how good the reception is i have no idea though! But if volvo factory fit them they must work ok.
  5. Yeah, its just the sender location i was after. Ill post some picks when i fit mine on wed anyway cheers bud. cant wait wuhoo!

    My VR6

Are they ZW1s or the single peice version. Missed a set on ebay on sat, gutted cuz they look the t.ts! As for the car, well, looks spectacular mate. Hav'nt read the whole post but didnt see Jim comment. He will LOVE this, such a nice original minter. Well jelous bud, superb!
  7. Its a nice car Tempest and you've kept it very original which will up the value. I hope your not fed up with her just because she was a whisker short of factory horsies on the rollers mate?? Sounded sweet as, so there cant be much wrong there mate.
  8. I asked about water injection on N/A the other day and everyone said it does nothing? Im sure it must cool things like Kev said ? Like the sound of the inlet mod! Yeah, leave the VR for 3 hrs after a run, open the bonnet and you could still fry an eg on the inlet!!
  9. VW servicing really is w..k isnt it. I've had no better and neither has my old man. He got nowhere with vw uk either. Dual mass flywheel broke up on his mk4 @17k!! Logged underwarranty, but they had no records when it came to the crunch just after the warranty ran out!! Another mate had a £400 service, got 1/2 a mile and the engine seized--no oil in it!! They forgot!! And guess what, after 18 months he has got nowhere with any kind of help. I would'nt book my car in to fag for a wiper blade change round here. Anyway, I reckon its only worth about £200 mate, which i happen to have right here! I would say between £600 and £1000 tbh. Thats not a fair price going by the bill, but most low mileage 2.9s ive seen go for between 4 and 600. Taking into the account its a stealth rebuild id try for 1k?
  10. Did you here them going on about £38 for a badge!!!! LOL! They obviously hav'nt seen Storm badges on ebay then!
  11. Good work mate, although i dont like the centres, that being the only difference though. Rest looks ident. Liking the proker rims too, if you loose that red mile miglia writing in the midele which would easy to do. Im going to spend hours on this site now!!
  12.        for you mate. Been there and death is the only thing they understand. I'd hand them there ba..s in a bap with some ketchup on and tell them to eat them or you will really get mad! Trouble in this country is you cant touch em. Personally I would go and key the sh.t out there parents car, although thats probably a 1.8 mondeo or cavilier with no back arches. Throw some sh.t in their letter box if nothing else. This sorta thing makes me sick to my soul, you never REPEAT NEVER touch another mans wheels!! (me reversing into Yan doesnt count btw, that was different).
  13. Dont fancy the fire wall trick, sounds like rust to me. Bearing in mind im thinking i will be keeping my C indefinately. Part of the reason is i want more power and although i dont have the money now, £3k + set up for the charger leaves a lump in my throat, although listening to Kev's on the rollers left a lump somewhere else!
  14. Walsey, now your scaring me!! As usual i am exagerating, im not completely clueless (no comments please), but its the eletrical side/ecu stuff that i have no idea about at all. I can understand it takes signals from the lambda, maf, cps, ns etc and other things to decide how much fuel to pump and retard/advance timming, but where all that is and what colour the wires are escapes me. I love the vw bluey/pink dash lighting, but i have to admit to loving the corrado dash as is. Would settle for the ilume change, but i likes me clocks just how they are. Also, going by the utter sh.t engineering and electrics in my old mans MK4 1.8t gti, the less mk4 wires in my car the better!!
  15. I've never really been one for engine swops, tbh purely ebcause it sounds too scary and i dont want to hack my car about too much when its all nice and cozzee and rattle/wiring problem free. Then you look at Jay's and think umm, but then his attention to detail is rather better than mine could ever be! 8) So what happens with the rain sensative wipers and all the other bits that the ecu says oh feck too im not having any of this and flashes lots of lights or turns the engine off! (my simple understanding of the problem)? Presume you could just pull the whole lot off it and run it as a dead engine on carbs! Or do they have variable inlet management, god i really dont know what im talking about.    I also want to keep all my original clocks etc, which Phat said he did with the R32. 8)
  16. Although there is esentially nothing wrong with my car at the mo, I am thinking ahead with 130k on now. Question is, what do i do? Taking into account my chains/clutch and everything else is original, we are talking £650 for clutch and head or £1100 min if you throw in new chains, and then the bottom end is still in questionable fetle? I was tempted to stick in a flowed head and have the chains and clutch done, but now i'm not so sure, due to the fact that it wouldnt stay N/A for long  looking at power requirements. So then we are talking transplant money + So then we have the 24v route, 4 motion looking like the real world option for me, and then you still have the blower option once your bored with 240BHP after the basic mods. The thing that worries me is the wiring, who to trust to do a good job as my car does 20k a year, i dont want any reliability problems. How much are we talking for a 24 install on the labour front?? Unless Jay is free late next summer like he offered recently for £££ss? Short of reading all your mamoth thread how much wiring is involved and do you have to put all the mk4 golf ad on lecy bits on with changing to DTA or some such system??
  17. Dinkus Lol, you cant beat good hose. RS VR6, i cant see the fuel hose my eyes get stuck to the VSR and charger (lucky git!)
  18. Yep, i'd be interested Tempest and there was a fair bit of interest last time this came up but nothing seemed to materialise on the supplier front. So sounds good mate if you can get some prices. PS what are the rims on that C in the pick then??
  19. Jez, as i said i tried these guys before and they said they had done them but couldnt get um anymore. Top work fella, they are doing them again now and mine arrive wed next week along with a sender for £17 all in (off an lt van!??) Cant wait. Fancy posting a how the hell do you wire it in note!!
  20. No mate, i've got a rimmage problem big time. I want RH1s but cant afford them. Spanking avatar btw. Make sure you make it over for a 2006 show too mate, be nice to catch up.
  21. Yeah, I mocked them up first Dinkus thankfully! But im now after a set of wheels, missed the RHs on ebay today as i was comatosed until 12 and they'd ended at £250 arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrhhh noooooooo!! But ive been looking for the TT 16s as mentioned by Mike, as ChrisP who was selling them to me used those on his running the 312s, and i think they look really good and very simlar to my existing wheels (soon for sale!).
  22. Oh and fit a boost gauge day 1, then when you play you can make sure you dont rise the boost over the fuel cut like i did. Thats not a smooth or pleasant experience beleive you me!
  23. I had one mate identical to that baove before the C. I found it a little souless and plasticy. Cant deny it was quick and easy to make it quicker up to a point. They look great imo, apart from the back end, thats the only let down. They have a boost limiter in 1st and second iirc which makes them feel slow to start with but then silly quick in 4th etc. Take that out straight away mate!! Then theres a small pipe with a brass rectricter in it, swop it for £2 worth of halfords fuel hose and you've got about 40bhp for £2, now that is a bit cheaper than vr tuning i have to admit!! Only thing that went on mine was the fuel pump circa £300! And the back end on wet roundabouts, or dry ones for that matter!! Hope you enjoy mate, you'll be back one day though imo!!
