  1. mmmm, just got home! Firstly thanks for all the advice. Unfortunately nothing seemed to work. In the end i pulled the fuses out of the block near the alarm and the lights went out, and then drove to my parents and grab the old mans battery charger. When i went to restart it the fuel pump cut came in several times but on the third atempt the car ran perfectly!!!! Got home and it did the same when i was opening up the garage, started after 3-4 atempts and ran perfect again!! Key fob still does nothing I cant turn the round key thing in the alarm unit, it seemes jammed The car is now sat in the garage with the alarm just going click....click....click....click and me going feck.....hate....feck.....you I havnt tried the long winded jobie yet though?
  2. Tried the search but no joy on this one. Moving house any day but due to moving to a non-pikey area the house is lots smaller, hence the garage (the only bit thats bigger woohoo!) will be filled with crap for at least 3-4 months! I will now be able to walk to work so the car will be sat outside all week and I want a cover for it or i'll cry. :( Anyone know where to get, ideally a tailered one or failing that something less stiff and scratchy than the halfords rubbish?? Or if anyones selling one for that matter! Cheers

    New Wheels

I really wanted these, and spoke to the guy. Think he was offended when i said they looked like RH1s!! I offered him pretty much the same amount (they were up for much more then) and he said no they will go for at least £750!! Still, i;m glad they've gone to a good home/someone on here. Get some pickies up asap mate, lets se-em on!!
  4. Nice one guys, one happy camper. Head unit rocks! Got slight hiss from speakers when i turn the headlights on though, wierd!
  5. Cheers mate, here goes...........
  6. Nice one buddy. I put it to live and no joy, also tried it disconected and nothing so i think your gonna be right bud! Can i just tie it in to the black earth wire for the whole unit or do i need a seperate car body earth for it ??
  7. I meant because theres an 8 inch crack on my rear bumper now...lol
  8. lol, i allways wanted one of those! double sided sticky tape anyone?
  9. POSTS (sorry mods) had to be done
  10. BC, many thanks mate thats a big help. Do i need to pull the carpet/sound deadning down to get to the gromit? actually im just being lazy ill go and look tommorrow in day light. ewww ONE
  11. What the midgets or the bump? It was just Bristol, Yan, Dinkus and I left at E38 and we did a quick shot of all the cars in a line about 2 inches apart nose to tail (defence exibit A!). I saw Bristol driving back in my mirror and was chatting to Dinkus for a while as he packed up his tent. I carried on chatting as i reversed back into Yan's C. Prob the most mint corrado on the planet! I was inconsulable, and bascally offered Yan any amoutn of money he wanted to sort it, but turns out there was no damage aparnt from both my rear ends! I would try and lie and say Dinkus disctracted me or something lame, but he's kept shtum so i wont wind him up. Still its come out of the bag now. Its the only car i've ever touched in my life, not even touched a door in a car park before this, typical! Yes i am a kn.b and still feel sick now about it.
  12. Not my strong point this (what is  ) so any help would be great cheers. Fitting a new head unit with built in screen/dvd: 1. Do i definately need to run a wire to the battery from the yellow head unit one (amp being 75w x4)?? If so wheres the best place to poke a gromit through without ripping up the carpet too much! 2. Theres a wire thats surposed to connect to a "parking brake" to stop you watching the screen while driving, or you must be in reverse. Do i just connect this to a positive to fool it, or leave it unconnected? 3. How in the world of all thats holy do i get all the wires to fit behind the head unit!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think i can do it if the glove box comes apart (does it?). Cheers guys Nick
  13. I think most would agree with that, but thanks for confirming
  14. If it makes you feel any more confident. I ran a c reg jetta tdi 1.6 whilest looking at C's. I paid £100 for it with a yrs mot and it had 321,000 miles on. Best bit, 1 owner, head never been off, on its second clutch (first did 265,000) and it was still on its original turbo. It was a dam site more reliable than my C thats for sure!
  15. Sweet, 90bhp then think, but lots more torque. Mobi is 07841347629 if you want to call, not sure how much use i'll be but you never know so feel free if you want to.
  16. Cant fault your logic there mate. Not sure if that will be a 1.6 or 1.9tdi. Either way it wont be as swift as the current 1.9deisals they use, but will still have torque and lots of mpg! The heads are expensive, or more so than the petrols. So check the oil/water head gasket areas well bud. Check for damp carpets at the front also, as they are even more prone to leaves in the bulkhead collecting and stopping water escaping, which then runs down behind the fuse box and caused me loads-a-greif. Strong old brutes though, and really quite nice to drive. IMO
  17. I think 97 R plates were the cut off year tbh. Grade a has the previous shape (96 shape), although the last one did have diff bumpers and minor lifts and tucks. The older ones are bullet proof reliable though. I'd actually prefer the older shape if you want a reliable hack thats essentially made of golf mk2 bits with a little raddo switch gear thrown in. I had a gt one and it was just like a big golf gti to drive, felt nice and tight and that had 165,000 on! I may even have some spares if you do get one!

    CAR TAX

I think they turn a blind eye to this mate you should be safe. Just don't let them see your avatar pick or they will throw away the key. Expect you'd get plenty of action inside though!
  19. Lets talk about midgets instead shall we ?

    CAR TAX

Wow, one of my posts took off while i was at work with no access! arrhh, time to buy an extreme mobile i think. Anyway, Blair, totally agree with that mate, nice wording cracked me up big time, lol Yan, yep don't start me on that either! Cameras = road safte, theres another, what about road surface under breaking you feck heads! Problem is their all driven round in jags with soft suspension and plenty of fat to keep them cumfy! Anyway, still glad i dont live in Ireland! WTF OMG

    CAR TAX

If "we don't need to look here, or here or even here", then why do i still have to que up in the post office for 40 mins with a load of adidas wearing chavz to get my tax disc!? Why do we need the disc now then? I know they look pretty but they nolonger serve any purpose do they? Can't they ditch the expensive printing of them and give us £10 off the whole process, or have a missed something?

    Corrado Gallery

Is that John (JMR)'s Raddo i think. Tiz rather tidy, and stupidly quick I beleive! The pick doesnt do it justice, the sideskirts look really subtle in the flesh and the wheels look much bigger and the brakes! iirc
