  1. Prob best remove. They do look good when painted, but if you do then get doored I reckon a it will chip the colour coded plastic much worse than the door. Mind you, having just looked at your picks, id leave her how she is. Looks spanking mate!
  2. Cheers guys, changed it tonight for one that is ell mintoss. Lucky i caught a really decent lad in the shop who could'nt have been more helpful. Yep, im still in shock. Trying to fit 3 lots of rcas, sub out, av out and av in plus the normal garb down the back of the dash is a fecker though think ill leave it for some dry daylight weather! YAN--NOPE! still seaping, they wont seal, hence the head unit. I can sit in it, watch a dvd and make vr6 noises to my self.
  3. Nice mate, IGV, one of the best colours too. (along with aqua blue obviously!)
  4. I've been down there a lot this week, and i'm still loosing fluid. Pesky brakes!
  5. Another point to remember mate, if nobody has mentioned it. Make sure your car has had no paint work down there, and mask round the plastic. Don't want to teach you to suck eggs, but it will look gank if you pull em off and its been sprayed round them. Not allways as easy to spot as you'd think, especially on a black car. Sure you would know, but hey, i've mentioned it just incase. Is that why i hav'nt done, might be, not telling!

    Brakes on fire

Hoofkngrahhh! OR MAYBE NOT! The mk4 callipers from uncle Vince fitt bootifully! As do the goodrich converters which look very nicely made also. BUT! Will the banjo copper washers seal on one side, no they wont. Weepage and i just cant stop it, and id say its too tight now. Check all surfaces and were all sinny no scratches or dirt. Ironiclly, the grubby 11 yr old hard lines sealed up no worries, its the 2 brand spank surfaces on the banjo that wont seal!! 3 things in life i've found now that are certain (4 if you include my bad luck) 1. Small allen bolts on front brake callipers. silly people! 2. Copper washers never seal 3. Spring hose clips suck ..s!
  7. Just annoyed as i really want to fit it like NOW, but dont want to jepoeardise an exchange...arrhhhhh! Yes Zip, my run of bad luck continues!!
  8. My think also bud, can just see the guys face if he's not an analist like me! Dont surpose anyone has had a JVC AVX1 have they?? Would like to know what theres was like, or even if it should have had a screen protector on like mobile phones??
  9. Just bought a JVC bling city head unit but on viewing the face plate it has tiny hairline scratch type marks away from each button and the slightest of scuff marks on the screen. I've notice the tiny ones on the last pioneer i had. Are these in the manufacturing, ie if i swop i may get one exactly the same? Note: It did all appear to be unopened/sealed where apropriate. I am being quite anal here as you have to catch it in the light, but should i take it back? Prob wont see when its on, but im a bit anal about keeping all my stuff mint, so it bugs me. Especially as it weerrnt cheap! Had it before on the screen of an alpine which i got swopped and the next one was fine. :?
  10. I've been to a garage very recently where the guys there have already got a 2.7 s4 engine in a corrado. Its a long long way from being finished but its in and running. Been sworn to secrecy, but i expect if it does get finished it will turn up next summer at the events. Not a priority when running a business but i hope it does get completed!
  11. Second that Jedi, I had an S14 200sx. 280bhp and 1240kg it ate my VR for breakfast, but it was soleless, never really won my heart. Gotta be 5 cylinders plus for that warm tingly grin factor and true caracter. Wouldnt say no to your S3 having said that though, if i had the money 22!!!!!!!! how the magic mushrooms do you insure that muhoother!
  12. Strangely having had pioneer kenwood sony and alpine, the two alpine units i have had have been by far the worst in terms of build quality. Great sound, great finish when new but both had buttons fall off and disc problems. One was last year and £400!! Sorry to go against the grain guys. Mates have had the same problems. IMO Sony = Fine but rather harsh artificial sound Kenwood = Good allrounders, no real faults Alpine = great but dont stay that way Pioneer = Very warm bassy sound, prob my recommendation (P77) I've just gone for the JVC AVX-1, arriving tommorrow. Bit bling for me tbh but just fancied seeing what it was like having the dvd option. You can get a sony NC9950 from newimagecarhifi for £259 whcih tempted me as its seems stupidly cheap but is mainly pose factor. I'd check them out for prices though, or any of the other adds in the back of (sorry) maxpower! £400 units in halfords are £200 if you go mail order, adn they are not dodgey imports or re done units. (P77 is £214, but you'd get em down further on the phone!)

Actually mate, 2cc posted up our weekend of fun with mine in the Knowledge base section on here. I beleive all the part nos are there, but ill check first thing tommorrow for you mate. Up to my eyes in brake fluid at the mo. If its next weekend i may be able to help you!
  14. ha, beat me too it BC. There not that cheap ill have you know lol Getting cheaper to buy but aint getting any cheaper to run
  15. One of the lads at stealth runs a 1.8t 20v (5v per cylinder) engine in his so i guess they would be a great shout for advice. If you put a V5 engine in, ie 5 cylinder fitted to the bora and golf mk4s (150bhp or 170bhp depedning on age/model) it would be unique and sound a bit like an old rally quattro. But tuning wise you'd get silly power out a 1.8t much more cheaply and easily. Big money either way. would be nice to see someone do a 5 cylinder though! Perf wise it wouldnt be worth the wallet bashing or heart ache though. Do a vr or 1.8t, or buy a vr and pump some air into it with a t or an sc!

No probs mate, im working on it! Wouldnt be suprised if the dealer dont have the fiddley bits in stock for tommorrow though!! If mine didnt have all the rear brakes off it i would have given you a hand, or watched and passed you things!
  17. Im under mine right now finally fitting mk4 callipers and obviously the goodrich braided converters. Also doing the braids on the front too so will let you know. Agree with Dr Matt in that the handbrake does really affect the travel in my experience. And they dont allways self adjust too well like theyre surposed to! I fear raddo brakes will allways feel dodgey though. My other halfs vento vr as awsome (standard) brakes compared to my C. Although hers is a 97 R and has the 288s as standard with whatever servo and cylinder they came with (both look quite different to mine!) UNTIL I NICK THEM WHEN SHES NEXT AWAY ON A WORK TRIP!!!!

Dick, mines a 94 VR with 120k and i've recently done exactly this! Fitted konis and H&Rs. Im a muppet so Chris (2cc) and Yan let me know everything that need doing. I will get a definitive (while your in there) list and post it up for you mate. Definately buy new bump stops (which will need cutting down slightly) on the back. And the best advice is that you will need different top spring caps on the front or your new springs will just go through the old ones as they are too wide!! We put all mine together before realising this one!! I think they are mk3 golf ones but will confirm. I also replaced the wishbones, which i couklnt afford, but i didnt want to pay for camber setup again a year later. Ill get that list for you though mate, possibly with the part no's if it helps?
  19. Get him to try German ebay if he does'nt already. Some great stuff on there on the unusual wheel front and very nice prices, usually with cheaper delivery than within the uk!!
  20. lol Lucky he didnt stop as i would have given his car some love!!
  21. woo hoo, i finally saw one in Salisbury today!! Dark, think it was a mystic blue storm tbh. Definately on soleez, and sounded nice. Plate was ....RAX anyone on here? I grinned at the guy who kinda double taked me as i was on foot. I think he probably thought i must have been gay!
  22. Thought you just had yours sprayed Mr Bristol? Where was yours done and are you happy with it mate, i cant wait to see it. And park a long way from you!
  23. Air leak in some of the vacum hosing? Water pumps can make exactly this noise but wrong side of the bay! Timing chains!? Sorry im not much help but those are the ones i can think of, well the ones mine makes anyhoo!
  24. Umm, i could'nt agree more Andy. And im afraid a garage just makes you more likely to smack your elbows on things! This is how mines been for nearly a week now, £20 seems like a bargain to me in hindsite!
  25. ATE or LUCAS are good aparantly, you may have one of each but they are allways tweaking the casting slightly. In my ongoing experience this week, if it says guttmann on it give it back. Mine had too narrow a casting to go over new pads, even if you took the pistong and the rubbers out of the equation!! think your ok there though bud
