Its true, 5.5 Litres the cheeky extra half litre that sits in the oil filter. But from my experience you never get all the oil out, not without tipping the car up and shaking it about.

The guy at My GSF branch told me that the Fuchs stuff was the same as VW put in cars at production these days.

We still cool for sunday then Will? can you pm me your address so mr GPS can do the rest.
-
Thanks Mr Bentley. and Tom. I owe you a pint next time I see you. gives me a chance to put talc on the drivers seat belt also. Parrently it makes it run smoother.
-
Good man Tom, Thanks. Right now just those rear cards. Ive undone the seatbelt anchor points up top. But cant see how to pull the belt through the door card. does it need to seperate from the car where it attaches below the speakers?
-
Cheers for looking, Im in the process of removing the interior, Front seats and door cards Ive found the knowledgebase articles very useful and the front is out. The back however is a diferent story, and the search is not my friend anymore. The armrest, and seat bases are out, and the bolts inbetween the seats are un-done. However Im guessing the bits that stick into the door card need either pursuasion or the rear door card removing. Also How do I remove the rear door cards? Ive unscrewed all I can see, including the seatbelt bracket at the top. But I am really stuck now.

Thats bad karma chap. Sorry to hear it. Having driven this car when GradeA had it, I can vouch it were one of the good ones. I was about to buy the suspension set up before he decided to sell it on. Im sure you can get the parts of here for a rebuild and sell it on after you have had an insurance payout. Best of luck chap.

VR6 popping exhaust and misfire on gentle acceleration.
ZippyVR6 replied to ZippyVR6's topic in Engine Bay
I would tend to agree Dr, But most of my woes with my Vr have been coolant related. infact the only part of the coolant system that hasn't been replaced yet is the main water pump itself. At the time though. I was a fair bit concerned that I had managed to do some major damage to the engine by driving it with water in or something. -

Mine seemed to be as a result of sh1te fuel and dampness, it started as soon as I filled up with cheapo fuel. Also the journey when it started was one of the wettest journeys I have had. I cleaned out the dizzy with GT85 and changed the fuel and things got much better. and once I had some of Shells Finest in there it cleared up completely. -
Could it be a noisy water pump or water somewhere?

Ok, cool, Ill try that later. -

? How do you mean. -
the other night the car cut out during what was the worst rain storm I have ever seen. the car started in a lupy fasion after a few mins, and after a drive it seemed ok. although there was a squeeking noise coming from the left side of teh engine as you look at it. But now there is a pronounced wine coming from the same sort of area. any ideas? the search seems to indicate that this could be the water pump, Co incidence or might ther be water in the belts, or altonator? Im hoping it isnt to serious, but would rather not suffer a water pump failure when traveling along.

Thats harsh Craig, Feel for ya buddy. Im sure you will have another chap.
