Excellent.... is it running yet? :D
-
Did you get the package I posted out to you yesterday mate?
-
cool - let me know what day suits best for you, a Sat morning I presume? p.s, if the Boss asks i wasnt on here.... ;)
-
*waves* hello!!!! I was going to post these up for you.... I think she is looking great exactly as she is - I'm taking mine to rolling road soon to get an idea of power before I start any engine stuff if you fancy coming?
-
yup and yup - will Pm you some pics..... ;)
-
I've got a tornado front bumper - it came with my Rado but as the car is flash red it looked silly so I bought a flash red one, I did advertise it on here... tis yours if you want it.
-
no its called faffing about...! get it on the road and start driving the damn thing... what bits do you still need for it?
-
If she had been a £3k minter then I probably wouldnt have gone for as much white, but the bra will be coming off over winter anyway and the new wheels have recently been refurbed black so I'll need to work them into the colour scheme. As much as I love a OEM Corrado I think sometimes its nice to be a bit different... Thanks for all the comments guys - will keep this updated as she evolves.... Engine mods next :)
-
Thanks guys...! This is my 3rd red 16v so it was time to do something a bit different from the other two, plus its fun..!

I'm definately long overdue to update this thread as the 'rado is on the road...! I've got various pics of the bits that have been done over the last few months but not on this PC so I'll cut to the chase and post up the pics from the weekend with a lost of what has been done... New windscreen New brake pipes and flexis Rear axle bushes New steering column fitted Exhaust made up from an old mk2 GTi one! Will do until I find a s/s one! De-cat fitted Pass side door handle and lock fixed - de-locked Passat handle fitted Badly damaged front bumper replaced Rear lights top tinted red - then replaced with red and clears Front badge sprayed black 16v badges sprayed white Spoiler sprayed white De-wipered rear Estorils sprayed white - not the best finish in the world but have new wheels coming in a few weeks Old alarm ripped out Stereo wiring repaired and head unit fitted New gear knob and leather gaiter As many trim pieces as I could find put back on! Full service. I've had most of it done at work as its a total budget build and thus I've had to wait until my Boss has had time to do most of it, hence the reason why it's taken so long to get on the road. So far, inc buying the car, and al the bits for it we are still under £500 so I am well chuffed. Got a new set of wheels coming very soon, won't say what quite yet, and we have a suspension kit knocking about in work that i will be able to have once we have time to get it fitted and set up. She had a coolant leak this morning so she is getting a few bits sorted today and hopefully a front engine mount as the one in there is shot and causing so much vibration I have a nasty rattle as the downpipe is hit off the body! eek! apart from that she drives well and stops well. We have found a load of bits on her that have obviously been replaced fairly recently - starter, fuel pump, both front wishbones - so she hasn't been totally neglected thankfully! She had her first official outing this weekend at the Post 74 BBQ, the MOT had only been done earlier in the week, so Sunday morning was spent making her as pretty as possible!!! The body work is pretty crap tbh, every single panel has had paint - and bad paint at that - and the bonnet has faded to primer, both wings are faded/dented, wing mirrors faded to white, faded spoiler, pink roof - plus the replacement rear bumper I got with the car is tornado red, not flash, so she isn't the most aesthetically pleasing of 'Rados... this was her after a good wash.... note the crap 'repair' to the damaged rear arch, I sprayed over it! lol! This is her good side... Then I got the polish out... bonnet and wing look a bit brighter... Decided to give the whole car a going over - this was the comparison on the roof... Put the new rear lights on - thought these were the best to match my reda nd white theme... All polished... With her bra on... :) (yes, i know most of you will hate it but its not your car.... ) and lastly white spoiler... (see aforementioned comment in brackets above.. ) So, thats where we are now... still got LOADS to do but need to be patient and keep to my budget, or wait until I find the bits I need in work and can get them for nothing, lol! Going to colour code the engine a bit when I do the KR cam, need to get new wheels on and paint calipers and I'll eventually fit the G60 brakes I have. Looking for a cheap stainless exh too. Got plans for the interior too but that will have to wait until the right interior comes up at the right price. Been offered a bag of shiney bits that will make her go 'whoooooooosh' but again its all £ allowing so unsure at the moment where I'm gonna go with that.... should probably get the body sorted at some point but I don't want a full respray so will have to speak to them and see what we can and can't do. So yeah, this is our progress so far - loads more to come..... :)
-
they only look good from 10 foot away when you cant see the fact we didnt sand off all the flaky laquer before spraying them... lol! They will do for now as I have something else coming in a couple of weeks, although i will also be doing them white, have some other white bits for her too....
-
Quick pic of the beast taken on 'phone last night before we took her home....
-
ooooh! got a couple of Mini fans coming along so if she wants to bring it we promise not to point and laugh at her...!
-
Yup - all welcome - we seem to have a good selection of all things VAG coming along...! Equally you don't need to be in a VAG car to come but do expect to be pointed and laughed at if your not... :D
-
Excellent! Would be good to have some more 'rados there or else we'll be drowning in golfs as usual! You won't be able to miss us - red rado with terrible bodywork, white wheels, big Phirm sticker on the windscreen and that sounds like a tractor when its running... :)
-
Horney - have a look in here viewtopic.php?f=20&t=72601 . We have a monthly Tuesday night VW meet called Post 74 at a pub in Hartley Wintney in Hants, its always a good laugh and the pub is great - plus its a regular venue for car club meets of all marques so the owners - who are dubbers anyway - are used to having hoards of car geeks in their car park. Its the end of season BBQ and Show and Shine this weekend coming, open to all and is guaranteed to be a fab day.... ;) We used to have a meet at a pub in Binfield every month but it fell away and never got resurrected....
-
KADVR6 - don't worry about it, this is an early finish for us! Seriously. :) its all looking good though. Dukest - well she has got me home and those white wheels are looking a little dusty, of course my hard acceleration and braking was purely to test the car, nothing to do with me having fun... :) still loads to do, got a fresh list of things that rattle, vibrate or just plain dont work!
-
lol @ KADVR6 Tim is still outside with that R32 and your loom...! oh, she is called Nola ;)
-
*waves* hello! Hows your Vr? I'm up for that challenge... ;) Just give me a couple of months - I have plans and lots of shiney bits in a bag under my desk that i found in the workshop...
-
Will get pics after I clean her at the weekend - still got some 'cosmetics' to finish... :D She is a proper budget build too - total cost so far is about £340 inc buying the car, aiming to get everything else finished and her lowered too for no more than £500.... ;) She has her first show at the weekend too...
-
... the one that had been sitting unloved and undriven for over a year and then got abandoned at my work with a couple of pages of MOT failures? Well I just drove it back from the MOT station with a nice shiney green pass cert :) So I get to drive her home tonight for the first time :D :D :D :D :D Its FAR from being perfect and there is a huge list of stuff that I need/want to do.... but the MOT is a huge big chunk of it! I sold my last valver to Jim at Stonor park 2006, which makes it over 2 years since I have been able to drive another 'rado properly so heres hoping she behaves tonight! Wooooo Hooooooo!!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
-
So this is the new C then...? Very very nice..... ;)

loving the wheels mate... it was my OH you got them off, I'm wishing now we had kept them as I've got a valver again.. also, those front seats used to be in my car - which is now Jims car - so I'm uber jealous... ;)
