  1. Did you choose the head from Eurospec as i am prob going to get 1 of those. You stroking it as well to the 2.2?
  2. Good to see you have stuck with it and got rid of the bad bits especially the Mk3 dash, how somebody can choose that over 1 of my favourite parts of a Corrado i will never know.
  3. And when you stroke engines yes you get more capacity but it will not be as rev happy.
  4. Jabbasport have an emulator and they map 20v's all day sure they could help, its mainly Michael Truluck who is the 20v mapping man who you should chat to.
  5. Try the likes of Revo etc for Generic remaps, pretty much load and go. Or if you want a specific remap for your engine which is more useful for an engine with a few bolt on goodies then try the likes of Jabbasport/Stealth etc for a custom remap. All thats needed either way is your wallet lightened between £350-£500.
  6. As far as i know the 2.9 came from the 2.8 so essentially whatever you do to the 2.9 yes you can do to the 2.8 in theory, i may be wrong though mate. If your going FI then do not go 3.1, chesewire did along with others and there is not enough material left in the cylinder bores to cope with the heat, but whether thats turbo only i dont know but he was only running around 12psi. Destroyed the block in not so many miles.
  7. What is it and how much is left in it? Does it come with a selection of tunes also
  8. Im not fully clued up on the VR6 but i have heard for def that the 2.8 can be rebored to 2.9.
  9. lol - i've got a 215/40/17 in my back yard that I was going to donate as well! :) Just the size i run matey shall i PM my address.........?
  10. Cue G60greeny  Well i paid £830 for a full black set in pretty good nick as a guide
  11. More to the point cant you get us corrado nuts some cheap engine parts, a group buy from an insider thats gotta be good

    Gear Boxs

Seriously do a search on here, way too many people give bad reports on the B&M kit, may be good on other cars but meant to be poor on corrados.
  13. Ah get used to it, i have had it for 4 years now, i no longer live with the parents but everytime i see them i still get it.
  14. Sounds like you have it under control then. Just follow my link in my sig to get an idea of a good spec, basically i had that engine spec on the BBM charger then went turbo but essentially the block and head have not changed regardless of what forced induction was used, and i am still on the standard box after 3 years of high power, all seems ok still. But the gear ratios are useless.
  15. Edited my above post Phil K Whats the deal with the Golf anyway, as in why is all the concentration and emphasis on that instead of a Corrado?
  16. Phil K that is a seriously nice Corrado, surely you must regret not having it anymore. Edited: to say its those wheels that really set it off, never seen them look so good. Are they the 1's that look backwards on the other side, if so thats why i generally do not like them.
  17. Well you make sure you say hi for me and i will be calling him soon enough.
  18. 5 years on the 11th December and i was 22 when i bought it for the G60 beast. How come VR6 i thought you were older than that
  19. I thought that too, maybe just an option in the HU to turn it on so it does it as some people like it lit up like a christmas tree all bright and distracting at night.
  20. You can make anything handle good without 4wd, just takes time and patience and money. So far mine is ok with 300bhp and 340lb/ft
  21. With the temps been higher as well get an oil cooler on top of the list. Hows your brakes and suspension, your going to wear things out alot quicker as well, i know you say nothing too extreme as its a daily but once you start you wont stop, trust me i know, and look at herisites, fair enough it would have been simple if it were not for the headgasket etc but while your in there you may as well get other stuff done, works out a hell of a lot cheaper too.
  22. No worries matt, yes Chipwizards are meant to be up there with the best in the country, which also means they are hard to get a spot on the rollers to fit your timescale. Is that the schrick cam split duration you would go for then, and the Piper is still not a lairy choice tbh.
  23. Good choices there 8) If you run a big valve head you really need a dif cam to get the most out of the larger valves and flow work, i run a Piper 285 and vernier on mine, and yes the vernier is only useful with diff cams, its still actually set on 0deg still on the pulley but used to be retarded 3deg but it now works best at 0deg. For ease and cheapness i would go 1.9 not 2.0, run 16v 144mm rods and then you can get a better piston design, the whole set up will be a little rocket, revving freely and quickly if you get it all balanced and lightened unlike a 2.0 which will restrict the rev range and rev slower and cost loads more to do, obviously if your using the big valve head and cam you want it to rev higher to get the power out of it, you should be looking for a 7k rev limit but on a 68mm pulley it will be close, so make sure you look after the charger. The cam will not lose that much bottom end torque especially if you use the vernier as that moves the torque around the rev range slightly, it will be a hardly noticeable difference to torque loss but way more top end pull and the capacity increase will give you slightly more low end pull anyway plus more capacity higher up to make those magic numbers. If it were me i would be getting a custom map to make sure it is all running perfectly on your set up and not a generic map that might be slightly off. A guess on cost well 2k to go 1.9, say 1k head work, 500 mapping, all as quick ball park figures then there will be stuff you forgot about like a larger intercooler etc, and if you did go 2.0 then the cost will rise again. Standard bolts will be fine, i run 300bhp and more torque on standard, use a mk4 metal headgasket and my compression ratio is approx 8.7-1. I think the red top injectors would be on their limit with that lot depending on the cam you choose to run, i think greys are slightly bigger, i ran greys on mine with a similar spec except the BBM charger and a standard fuel pressure reg which i still use now on the light green 440cc injectors.
  24. You read my mind, i was going to say a more race/motorsport inspired wheel and suede was going to be the option i would go for. Spoke to him a couple weeks ago and he broke the news to me then. Told him i was happy he has finally made his mind up to leave as you know he has not been happy for too long now, but gutted at the same time as he is the man who can, always got the right answer from him, he stopped me getting more work done that i suggested more than once as a lot of people try to upgrade things that they have read about or think should be done when realistically they dont need to. I personally think a big loss to Jabba, many many people avoid them through word of mouth scare stories but im sure the bad feelings would change if they spoke to him in the 1st place. 1 hell of a change though dont you think lol, talk about moving on, thought about doing it myself for a couple of years now but its having the initial balls to do it.
  25. No it would be what was supplied from Jabba when i purchased the kit originally.
