Wow, Aug was the last post on here and it wasn't even for the Storm. 2 months till Stanford and tooooo much to do so I thought I had better make a start. Got the Storm out the garage (no mean feat with a Magnex stored underneath it, battery charger plugged in and car cover over it) and took it for a short run before I started on some cleaning. Lovely sunny day and I could hardly see a thing through the crude on the windscreen so that was the first job, clean, polish and buff all round then it was time to start getting dirty. Nearside head light removed (thank heavens 'that' screw came out no problem) and years of muck removal begun. Not finished yet but at least started.

Now who do you think was taking the photos of our rehearsal? Speaking to the two guys I asked if they were being paid for spending 4 hours photographing us all and was told they were not and why on earth would they want payment for doing it !!! I wasn't in the show last Feb but believe there were backstage photos being taken. Maybe you should brush up on your photography?? As before, I think tickets are still available Google Velvet Burlesque to find full details......
-
NSFW added..... or did you mean posting other pictures?? Yep Pole Dancing is VERY hard work on the arms and shoulders. Only hard on the legs if you are doings 'hands free' poses.
-
Ah, should I put a NSFW warning in the title??? It is all good clean fun, honest. Now if I put up one of us all in our tassels that might be a bit different.....

You are more than welcome to deliver the bumper. We have plenty of room to put you up. You can even come to the show if you like but I think it is standing room only now. Also happy to introduce you to Lara AKA Hells Belle but I think she would eat you alive. The Velvet Burlesque show Saturday 4th Oct, Embassy Club, Sheffield tickets £10 and I think we will be selling all 500  Mine you, Lara had her car broken into recently and loads of show gear stolen.... It turned up strewn around a few streets, obviously not worth trying to sell (though I know of a few ladies who would love it..) anyway, Deepcar police have bought quite a few tickets I believe!!
-
:worthless: :norty:  OK, here goes. I'm on there but I'm hiding :) Got to come to the show on Saturday 4th Oct if you want to see any more  And yes, the 'teacher' is stunning and really knows how to move......

Naww, they are only a paint shop. I don't think a bit of filler painted over will sort this!! I was pretty upset Sunday night and didn't sleep well but hey, worse things can happen at sea.... As my Dad is always saying.... And my Corrado looks a darn sight better than my sisters Volvo which she wrote of the week before.....and somehow, God must have been watching over her, she was able to walk away from.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and similar experiance reports. Big group hug... I've had a friend and a family member both say 'good job you weren't in it' :cuckoo: I SOOOO wish I was in it when it started to slip.... oh well. Looking at it more subjectively a bit of a bash with a hammer on the rear panel and a new bumper (oh plus something to tidy up the spoiler) and it wouldn't look sooooo painful. Haven't a clue what the insurance would charge to buy it back but no doubt will find out soon. £400 excess though :pale: Oh, and driving it to the repair place I saw that the spoiler still works.. aww bless it :luvlove:
-
I've taken it to a car repair place for a quote on the insurance today. The guy looked at it from the entrance doorway and agreed that it would be a write off..... but fair dues he had a closer look and said how tidy the car was and what a shame... (must have been the shiney paint Rob  ) When speaking to Highway in the morning they said if it was a write off they would trailer it away for an assesor to confirm and give a value and I must have said something right (the last 24 hours is a bit of a blur and I don't realy know what I am doing one minute to the next..... ) as they then said if I was wanting to buy it back and do a private repair they could send an assesor to my home... Phew... I don't want it to go out of sight, even though it's not very nice to look at. Had a power cut this evening so disappeared to McDonalds for a comfort food burger and large fries. I would have had a McFlurry too but the airconditioning made the place freezing so they lost out on another sale.

Cheers Walesy. I feel a little bit better every time someone tells me that they have also done it. Heard a few others experiences last night. What's really annoying is that someone posts up about doing this quite often but all it takes is a momentary distraction, lack of attention and there you go..... AND I had 2 hours to get round to moving the car onto the drive but didn't. Too lazy :nono: Mine could of been worse if neighbours cars were parked on the road or their children sat out on the pavement as they do
-
Yeah it was dark when Kip went down to fetch it. He said there was quite a few curtains twitching.... neighbours wont understand this, they think I love my cars... :cuckoo:
-
Oh Toad, you are too kind..... you are too busy with your own stuff..... I have lots of people with 8v or new very cheap VR6s working out what parts thay can have..... I'm not rushing into a decisions... will wait and see what happens but thanks
-
cheers, I always do too. except today. got home from burselque practise, was a late finish so arrived home still in all the gear.... hoped no one would be about but 2 sets of neighbours and their children were outside so was in a bit of a 'flap' to get in the house...... and the rest you know.....
-
Oops. Done the classic park on a hill, didn't leave it in gear..... could have been sooooooo much worse
-
S'ok. I don't have any work colleagues to joke with but knew I could rely on Toad to play along.... I think we had taken it as far as it should go....and maybe a bit further !
-
OK, enough now. Fay has posted a pic of hers too, and one of it without its covering.
-
Kip said it would look good hanging on the wall but I'm not sure what visitors would make of it. Think I had better get it tucked away underneath where it belongs.
-
Yeah my old one is well worn and a bit is broken. Just hope this one fits as well as the last one of these I had.
-
Spot on. I knew I could rely on you to rise to the thread
-
Had this delivered today. Can't wait to get polishing it :norty: Big thanks to Fay / Scarlet_vr6 who told me where to get one and who also bought one to polish

How did you find sealing the Easi-Bleed cap to your brake resovoir? I did mine up, pressure tested first (no leaks) and then added fluid and got on with opening each nipple in turn. Only when I'd finished did i realise it had dribbled fluid from the where the cap screws on all over that side of the engine bay :mad2: It was screwed on pretty tight too.... Kip says he found it spot on and not a dribble [ooh err] but tried a couple of the seals first to try it without fluid in but also says he pushed the seal right into the top cap with a slotted screw driver :|

It was all bleeding for quite a while. Cleaned it up, put a 3 by 2 inch plaster on it and it had soaked through within an hour. Put anothr one on and thought it better to be safe than sorry so off we went. 100+ year old interior trim company in Sheffield. Probably a bit far for you. I asked at the local dealers if they could recommend anywhere, or where did they use if they had to get interiors repaired and they gave me the company name. Cheers :) It was high on the requirements list when house hunting LOL. Aye, a long deep paper cut  The part can be seen in the second picture on the far left. Photo was taken after Kip had patched himself up and cleaned up the car My name is Judith Hygate hence J11 and the VWS is self explanetory. I'm sure you know Paul is Paul Kippax :)

Nope, the metal clip that holds the hand brake cable under the rear beam. I've just been told it had split in two..... it definitely looked nasty and sharp when I went out too see which bit had attacked him. Easily notifiable as to which bit it was as there was some of his skin and hair stuck to it...euck :pukeright:
