My fan only works on 4 but unfortunatley the thermal fuse fix isn't quite as straight forward on a car with air-con. The fan is pretty different to a standard C fan, I've dropped out the fan assembly and can't find anything that looks like a resistor pack. There are some wires going into the very top of the fan mounting but even with the glovebox out they are impossible to get to. If I ever want to fix mine I think it'd be a dash out job

Keep seeing a dark blue VR on 18"s (I think) parked near the Shell garage on Ashbourne rd in Derby, anybody?
-
The springs and the new shock are now on and the difference is amazing, it's still firm but it doesn't crash over potholes like it used to. I can actually dial in some damping and retain a civil ride, if only I'd waited for the H&R's 2 years ago! And the new starter motor seems to have done the trick, starts without hesitation now. She's getting a nice long run up to the lake district this afternoon, can't wait :D Thanks for the advice folks. L.

I think I read in Evo's review of the 147 that Autodelta were aware of the handling problems and were looking in to it. If they got that sorted then it'd be a bit special.

It looked a bit out of shape when the Stig was nailing it but it still posted a very respectable time.

The one I got was a £100 recon one so I assume it's the same. Apparently recon one are the only one available nowadays?
-
No I didn't, but to be honest it would be a bit of a hassle for me to get over there, my cars back in my local garage next week to have a recon starter motor fitted so I'll get them to fit it then, I shouldn't notice it too much with the 11 hours of labour already on the bill :(

Just spoken to Koni, and they have agreed to replace the deffective shock, no proof of purchase, nothing. Should be with me on Monday. At last a company with customer service :D
-
Cheers Kev, better start rummaging through the reciepts.

Update: I've just been to pick the car up after having the H&R's fitted and the mechanic told me that he didn't think the shocks on the front were set to the same damping rates as one was a lot firmer than the other, I thought this odd as I was pretty sure that I had them both all set to their softest setting. Anyway I checked with the key when I got home and sure enough they were both set fully soft but when pushing down on the wings the drivers side was a lot softer, you can feel the difference between firm and soft on the drivers side but on the passenger side the diffence is much more subltle, more like hard and harder. Have I got a knackered shock? This might explain the slightly unpredictable handling that I've experienced on occasion. She's just cost me £900  I hope it doesn't get any worse. cheers, L.

SOME OF THE WORST CORRADOS EVER... RICED !!!!!!! NOOOOOO ;-)
Leavon replied to chris CORRADO's topic in Exterior
I think the quad lights were a Nothelle in house development. I looked into getting some years ago when I had my 16v but apparently they didn't make many so chances of finding them are v.slim. I think they look really nice, remind me of the MK1 scirocco. -
I'm a 3D character artist working for a computer games company in Derby (no I can't get any free games). Been in the games industry for about 10 years, the money's good and I still really enjoy it. However I'm also a songwriter/musician and I've just completed work on my first professional film project and it's really tempted me into pursuing it as a full time career. TBH Could do with the extra cash, the C's in the garage at the mo and the bill is totting up

Colour coded grill makes such a difference to the front end, I dunno why they didn't do it on all C's. Looks very clean Jez, could I ask where you got your clear side repeaters from? Cheers,
-
So you're not keen on the magazine then Phat?
-
They've basically stuck a roof on the concept R. Looks quite pretty. I doubt very much that they'll call it Corrado but ya never know.

Wouldn't be without my induction kit, you can't beat that growl when you floor it, it's how the VR should sound. It's not like it's loud all the time anyway, sounds completely standard until you floor it. I've Got an ITG with a heatshield and I've never noticed any drop in performance. I've also developed a love of tunnels.
-
Thanks everyone, my mind is properly made up to get the H&R's. cheers.
-
Cool, that sounds promising, best get the card out. Thanks for the reply Andy.

I've currently got the C dropped 30mm on a Koni TA and Eibach spring setup and find the ride to be pretty harsh around town even though I've got the Konis on their softest setting. I originally wanted H&R springs but they were on back order for quite a while so I went with Eibachs, I was just wondering if H&Rs are significantly more compliant and whether it would be worth replacing the Eibachs? Cheers,

"leavon...£1000+ over this side of the ocean....about £800 over there perhaps?? ask sukh aka BlueSLC...he had his arches rolled over there." Errrk  I won't be getting that done in a hurry then.
-
Followed/overtook/followed a blue VR on the A14 yesterday evening, flashed and gave thumbs up. Puts a smile on ya face.
-
Anybody got a ballpark figure for the cost of gettng the arches rolled out like that? I really dig that look.
-
Cool, I'll give that a go. Ta v.much Geo.

The car started kangarooing badly under acceleration yesterday, a quick squizz under the bonnet revealed that the air filter had become detatched from the main plastic hose that the MAF plugs into. I've got an ITG filter that's mounted to the body via the heatshield, so all that I can assume is that the engine flexed hard when I booted it a few seconds before and detatched itself from the filter. Would this indicate that my engine mounts are worn and in need of replacing/upgrading?

Okay, seems my limited knowledge of electrical type stuff is even more limited than I thought
