  1. I took the angle grinder to the back of my grill because of this. I've spoken to people who said it doesn't make that much difference, but I could feel the air flowing through the slots at quite a speed this morning when I got to work and the after run fan was going. I don't think the air being forced up from the lower bumper grill can be that good. The flow rate must be sh1te as standard. Do you think the plastic panel behind the headlight could be removed to increase airflow to cone type air filters? I want to fit a BMC, but don't like the idea of running a cold air feed toward the bottom of the bumper. I know I'll hit a big puddle too fast one day. Could you set up a test using a hairdryer over both temp sensors? If they were in the air stream together for 1-2 minutes then the readings ought to be the same? Lol @ Bad Dave!
  2. I've the alarm LEDs in the hole. And I've seen Air con buttons in there...
  3. I would assume that plugging a spare speed sensor in and attaching an electric drill to it would do the job, but I wouldn't bother. Just put a sticker in saying +50k or whatever....
  4. Could you make an adaptor up? Maybe drill the hole out a bit? and make up a threaded adaptor to go into it.
  5. I've seen Lisa's Glamorous assistant and he'll probably break you legs for calling him that! Lisa, let us know how it turns out? Hahah yeah, he looks a bit of a hard b*stard ;) I fitted the part and it didn't seal at all so will need to get a new o-ring. Any idea if GSF/ECP sell them or am I going to have to go back to VW? I have a certain charm, I could probably dissuade him from violence. VW will carry the part, as should the others. Get some sealant (Hylomar??) too just to help seal it.
  6. They just come out the ends of the track. Put the best 2 you have into the window.
  7. Have a hunt around the interior and engine bay sections.... And if you hear a jangle of keys and the tap tap of two wooden legs behind you, run away... it'll be VR6 looking for food.
  8. But not Badgers or Otters? Nah. nothing like a good otter having your tea on the table when you get home from a hard day at work.
  9. Cheers David. I've got the whole box so I might try transferring it over to see if there is a difference... There's a lot of play in the gear lever on top of the 5th gear issues, but the circlip etc is in place and looks in good condition.
  10. Depends if the valves have hit the pistons. Even if they have, you might just need new valves. How come it jumped a couple of teeth? Tensioner knackered? I'd pull the head off and keep your fingers crossed. Might even get away with correction the timing and trying to start her?
  11. Yeah it's not good. Even more so if they turn out to be real 'Corrado Entusiasts'. I had one dealing with a VW specialist* near me while I was looking for my first corrado, and that has put me off the weasels for life. * Term used very loosely there.
  12. Out of interest. Which Passats does the late shift tower come on? My VR doesn't change gear well at all, and I was going to try fitting the tower from my spare KR gearbox, but it seems this might not be a good idea? Might stil fit it anyway for the short term as 5th is a pain to engage, and I believe the fault is with the shifter rather than the gear box. Cheers Tom
  13. PM me your address. Don't worry about money for the time being. Just see how it turns out, I can't see the postage breaking me financially straight away. Tom
  14. He didn't say which tuesday or wednesday. He probably meant one in August, in the next 5 years.
  15. I suppose the one benefit of that thing, is that it could probably kill quite a lot of americans if the driver lost control.... ;) Only joking Yank readers....
  16. Thanks mate :) The noise is about to get better! I'm going to order a cat-back stainless exhaust with one less silencer and slightly bigger pipes :) Might even go for a CDA as well, but not sure on that. How's you bud? :) Nice work! Did your CDA go in the end? I'm pretty good... Fooking knackered though. Owning two corrados is a headache, only one ever wants to work at any one time, and I can never work out which one it's going to be. :D Noticed the rado quote in your bit of text too. Can you get any big prints from them? Bet one of your car would look stunning framed...
  17. It does look stunning in the magazine mate. It's just a shame they cant get near describing the noise of the V6. That alone would change the minds of some of the Alfa haters that seem to be floating around...
  18. A combination of a jack and a wheelbrace would be a start... ;) The pics are looking nice mate.
  19. It's pretty much fit and you're good to go... You would fill the system through that point anyway... TAke the pipe off and get your glamourous assitant to hold it up so no water runs out, new flange on, reconnect pipe, take cap off header tank and add a bit of water (you will have lost some) and run the car until the coolant is warm with the cap off, any air bubbles will work their way out at this point as the bleed pipe to the header tank comes off the top rad pipe you had removed. when it's warm and no bubbles are coming out of the bleed pipe put the cap on and run it up to temperature/until the fans kick in. Let it cool and check the coolant level and that the flange has sealed... Job done... Hope that helps... Tom
  20. Hmmm I can't really see how wrong it could be... I'll send you a rod if you're not going to be there tomorrow or at BVF etc. Tom
  21. Are you going to the national day tomorrow? I could lend you another handle/rod/mech to try if you want? Tom
  22. Boring black is good and coated connections sound ideal. Aye, the heat exchanger is the radiator. Ill get back to you when i have some pennies together to sort it out, ta very much.... Give me a shout about this... I know a local place that will kock hoses up to your specs. Could probably arrange to get the VAT knocked off ;)
  23. So the inner door handle is solidly clipped to the door skin? I'll try to take some pictures of my stripped door and a handle this afternoon or evening if that will help, but I'm snowed under at the moment. There's not that much that could be wrong with the latch if the outside handle continues to work. Tom.
