  1. What a weasel. As with every awkward situation I encounter, I'd advise posting them a turd.
  2. It's a vr dinkle, the car used to be a valver I believe... Sounds like an air leak of some sort. Does it go away when it's warm, and does the engine run ok above idle?
  3. I've had this problem.... Check Fuse 16, think it's 15 amp, might be blown. It controls the spoiler, sunroof, glovebox light and "warning lamps" and bizaarly keeps the engine running. I'd guffed my interior light up which blew mine. but it could be your spoiler on it's way out. Alternatively it could be your key or your transponder coil if it's a late vr. I've got a transponder coil if you want to try it.

    VSR Explained?

I don't think you can to be honest...

    What Oil

I have just been in today. The ticket says £18.60 plus vat, but with discount it came to £15.81 ish. It was marked up as over £20/5l on the shelf though  GSF website says.... lots of confusing things.... between £10 and £10000000 I believe.
  6. Poo through his letterbox... but after the postman has been... wouldn't want to affect an innocent party.
  7. Hmmmm. Might have to try that on my vr... looks quality... What's best? Angle grinder or gas? Some people should not be allowed spanners.
  8. Error. Did any metal get into your charge cooler? Will the turbot be covered by warranty still? I've heard of people actively trying to get that "Wastegate chatter"

    New Radiator

I put a post up in the suppliers thread. Picked my new vr radiator up for £99.87 all in, from a radiator specialist near me. They fitted the top elbow and temp sender and pressure tested it in front of me. Looks OE quality too.
  10. try pming martin (VR6 South) as he knows of a corrado in a scrap yard, or there is one at silverlake near botley... might be knackered door though.
  11. If you want a hand, or some pointers, give me a shout and pop up as I needed to do this to mine (hence no passenger side mech) There's lots of good advice on here though. Have got a good rivet gun too if you want to borrow it. Tom
  12. That worked?!   Either you are _seriously_ beef or your top mount bolts were dangerously loose imo! Have done that with mine too... Good way to get it undone. Couldn't use a drop headed spanner on the early top mounts.
  13. Mine used to do that. The voltage would drop every so often. I ran a fused live straight to the battery. sorted it out straight away. Modern CD tuners need a lot of current to make them work. Think the old VW wiring is past it's best and not up to the job.
  14. I was at another forum members house changing the rear wheel bearing when I slipped with my angle grinder and caught the side of my palm with it... luckily it just took a little bit of skin off, I sat there for a little bit waiting for the blood to start, luckily I was ok...
  15. They are all from a 1990 16v. I just assumed that the passenger side one wouldn't fit as the intercooler is in the way. but it looks like I was wrong. which is good. :)
  16. I've got all the parts including the wheel liners with the holes cut if necessary. There are some superficial marks from the angle grinder on them but nothing that will stop them functioning. The passenger side unit might not fit with the standard intercooler though.

    Red Leather???

He lives in Winchester. Never see him around though... Lol... Bet you get asked that quite often... Welcome along.
  18. If you can find some nice solid blocks of wood. drive the car onto them to get the clearance. makes it a bit more solid and safe to work on then too.

    Wheel Colour Q?

    Hammerite hammered finish gold...
  20. Oh dear... That's a shame... Do you think you just got a dodgy unit? On a related note, inconel alloys are a pretty interesting bunch. I studied one of the grades when I was doing my final year project at uni. If you deformed it while heating it it would dynamically recrystallise, that is to say normal steels work harden due to stresses building up inside the 'grains' the steel is made of. Inconels don't. They are used in turbine blades and rotors. I don't remember much more than that... Sadly.
  21. I've got a 1.8 16v pump spare, taken off the car, hot to trot... but I'd be tempted to check the fluid, and possibly replace it before buying a pump.
  22. Looks good. I'd change the pipe from the top of the header tank to the radiator though. that one looks like it's been pushed over the end of the existing pipe and cable tied on. Not massively watertight I wouldn't imagine.
  23. Somewhere on here is a link to templates and a guide to producing 16v white guage backgrounds. There was a set of ddis for an early analogue valver for sale on here aaaaages ago too.
  24. Have you got a good breaker bar? They're a handy addition to your tool box, and you can put 'unauthorised' extensions, such as bits of pipe, as flusted mentioned, over them.
