  1. Oooooh.... And i was just starting to enjoy daylight...
  2. I've joined.... It's like myspace, and is brilliant for allowing you to perv at mates of mates....
  3. Actually, I think that GSF supply proper OE tappets for around £4 in the same boxes with the same stampings as the ones from VW...
  4. 145 in the wet.... Who bottles it first??? Tw@ts.
  5. Ah ok.. I can sort of get the "matt" rat look, if you know what I mean. I really don't get the sort of rat look I saw at Ultimate Dubs earlier in there where a bunch of guys had a banged up, mega stickered old polo and were basically walking around on the bonnet and roof to make it look even more bashed up. As I say.. I don't get that! There was a car at Daubs at the Park, with rusty patches on the bonnet, looked rubbish and pointless. I think my car is rat-look enough when it's full of crap and dirty, but I haven't gone out of my way to make it look shit, it just attracts rubbish automatically.
  6. No worries... Glad I could help. Beats going to the pub and getting rejected by a moose on a Friday evening anyway...
  7. Good work mate... Was really pleased that you had her running this afternoon. And I'm looking forward to getting a ride when it's all back together... Must admit, I didn't think those studs were coming off last night... I'm glad we persevered with the hammer though!
  8. I looks $hite.... The back is blander than a very bland thing, but still disgusts me...

I've got to admit to being a bit naughty.... I've not posted my form yet, as I didn't have a stamp, but told the fella in the dealers that I was a member and got £10 off my £65 order!!! That's my menmbership paid for already! Whoo. Need to find a stamp now...
  10. It's a full 280mm set up with carriers. Supercharged, Rear right, Rear left, front left (no ABS so it's further than ...) front right. I'm sure it's bled properly, plently of fresh fluid came through each nipple. The bias valve is cable tied open, as it's a bit wonky anyway.
  11. Yeah, I love that one they've snuck into one of the photos....
  12. Afternoon all... I've got 1.8 16 valve with 280mm front disks, and front Goodridge hoses, (I've not gotten around to fitting the rears hoses yet), but have noticed strange behaviour from the brake pedal. When I fitted the brakes I noticed I had comparatively (to the 256mm brakes) a lot of pedal travel before the brakes worked, once I had passed this initial distance, the brakes are solid and worked well. I assumed that there was a bit of air in the system, and rebled them, but to no avail. I still have this random crappy travel at the top of the pedal. However recently I have noticed that if I brake hard (such as avoiding a loon in a discovery), for the next 500 yards, the pedal travel has gone, the brakes work from almost the top of the pedal, just like they used to be. I have also replaced rear brake pads and refurbed one of the rear calipers recently. Has anyone else noticed behaviour like this or know what it might be? I have suspected it's probably the master cylinder, or one of the calipers sticking slightly, but none of them are binding, and the master cylinder doesn't creep or feel spongey at all... Cheers everyone... Tom

I've just filled the form out and need to post it when I've got time... Thought I ought to get round to joining really.
  14. It's because the outer CV boot failing could potentially contaminate the brakes leading to brake failure... The inner boot splitting just makes your gearbox messy... That's according to my freindly tester, anyway.
  15. Just put the spare door on and get it sprayed... It's almost worth it... I took the gearbox cover off and chucked fresh grease in and greased all the runners etc well before I refitted mine...
  16. I reckon your cable has snapped and is now caught up in the motor, as it sounds exactly the same as mine... New mech time I'm afraid... You weren't too keen on the skin on your knuckles were you??
  17. Seat is VAG Group.... Shut it Gimp-boy.... I meant Audi TT/ VW 4-mo brakes... Hehehe... Anyway any information is probably better in this thread so other people can find it and things don't get repeated... Didn't Phat put his 4Mo brakes on his corrado once or something??
  18. Ooooh. Liking the Shrick! Just seen the picture for the first time! Nice one!!
  19. Yup that's why I'm a month and half without my V5 for a simple address change... and a friend of mine sent her V5 back 3 times to get them to spell SMITH correct for christsakes! I'd actually blame that on an error between the chair and the keyboard. They will have massively powerful servers running and backing up all of the information, otherwise it just wouldn't work. I reckon I could write the SQL to run in query analyser in about oooh , this long; SELECT COUNT FROM table WHERE MAKE = 'Volkswagen' AND MODEL = 'Corrado' AND STATUS = 'Taxed' See... Easy. They must have a shiny front end for creating queries anyway. The company I work for has a nice query builder for when you build custom tables. It can't be that different.
  20. The emmisions reading is stored with your vehicle information on VOSA's computers I believe, which is why you want a handy 1.4 astra knocking about at your first MOT, which they can shove the sniffer up the tailpipe of. It's important to throw these results on at the first MOT, so if you get caught later, there isn't a previous similar high reading, this prevents the garage and yourself from being bent over and taught a lesson I believe. Or that's what a man who gets the odd MOT sorted near me said... I'm very interested by the way the Megasquirt is panning out... I'm very tempted to convert mine to 2l and throw megasquirt on so that I can fit a turbo with a lot less hassle at a later stage. Have fun with her!
  21. ROFL... I still maintain that I would. Despite the unusual skin tone and gargantuan handage. I'm sure she could borrow some of OJ Simpson's pills and a steam cleaner would sort the fake tan overdose out nicely.
  22. That is stunning. I'm a fan of Nugget, and that's got to be one of the nicest examples I've seen recently.
  23. Did you drive it on the road during that time? The correct answer BTW is "No officer" It doesn't matter whether it was driven on the road or not, if it is not taxed then it must be declared SORN. It's only 7 days... you have 14 to retax the car IIRC.
