  1. Thnk it's just the dashboard. It's to make sure the important bulbs haven't blown. I wonder if it could be your alarm/immobiliser stopping you from starting straight away?

I don't generally tend to use a torque wrench. I just do things up tight. A bit of common sense will see you through on most things. I would always use a torque wrench for head bolts and the like.
  3. Have you got the temp light at the top of your temp gauge and analogue milometer? If so, the light is suppose to flash when you turn the ignition on. It's like a sort of self test. Shouldn't affect the starting of the car though.
  4. I thought it would be the drivers side if it was causing you to pull to the right.... I'd have a look under it for any obvious defects... It could be that one of your calipers is sticking a bit, as Dinkus mentioned. Have you checked your tyres? For pressure and tread? You could have a defective one? I changed a puncture on my sisters car at the weekend, and the tyre looked fine till I took it off, there was no tread whatsoever around 2/3rds of the tyre... it had stopped with the one decent bit facing up. Go carefull if you do decide to drive it around!
  5. TBH I wouldn't be too keen on driving it at all till I had an idea of what was wrong.
  6. Which rear wheel bearing is it? It could be that it is so knackered the disk is moving and pushing the caliper back, so when you hit the brakes only one circuit actually works amd you get pulled to one side. If you pump the brakes does it get better? Otherwise you could have a leaking pipe/seal which is causing one circuit to not work properly. If you put your foot on the brake pedal, does it creep down slowly?

The TD5 engine is based on the perkins 2l turbo deisel used in the rover 200 series... Not enough lowdown torque for towing IMO, unless you've had the map changed. Oh, BTW Rob, tell your dad to have the centrifugal oil filter changed every service, not every 3 like they say, they fail and your turbo eats itself. Trust me on that one. It's only £20 odd for the filter so better safe than sorry.
  10. Mate! That's terrible news. Really feel for you.

    landrover 110

A few mates of mine have built 110s CSWs with the two front rows of seats and a solid back rather than one wih windows. Ideal for keeping tools and stuff in and you can fit a few people in it.

Wouldn't bother with a Series 3. For £2k you're into used 200tdi territory. I had a K plater at work a few years ago and thought it was awesome (for a landrover) Look out some of the smaller landrover specialists, they'll find you a bargain, any of the bigger places such as Keith Gott etc will charge you top wack. I hate them personally. I think the japanese out do LR in a big way. Even the new defender hasn't dealt with the crap driving position. They're not fun to work on either. We've got a very early td5 on an S and the rear crossmember needs serious attention already. They only survive in africa because there's no rain to rot them out. Talking of which, pay a lot of attention to the bulkhead they're a weakpoint.

That's very nice. Well done. What age do you want, and body style? CSW? Van? Pickup? Hi Cap Pick up? There's a lot of reasonable cheap motors around, just need to look in the right places. Stay away from LRO and all the "Let's Off-Road" goons. They pay too much money, and big wheels, high lift kits, bull bars, winches, Paris-Dakar style lights are all expensive rubbish and will cause you more problems. If you do pick one with alloys, make sure they have the right wheel nuts, they're £5/each from Land Rover (i.e £100 a set) or can be found cheaper secondhand.
  14. I believe so. Although Passat saloon and Seat Toledo units also reportedly fit. The estate is supposed to be the better unit to buy because it lies flatter in the roof, ergo less wind noise. I hope that's the case anyway, cos I've bought one too. Mr Beige I'll attack that pulley later and get postal on it's ass....
  15. There you go! Looks nice. I'm a fan of the speedlines.
  16. There seem to be a lot of random spare wires on corrados to be fair. Where abouts did you get your spal from? I might wack one in my 16v as the fan is playing up.
  17. Paint is standard with windows I thought.... In all programs > accessories? Try going to image in phyoto editor and size or something.
  18. Will it fit on anything nearby? That's a good start. Looks like it could be a starter motor wire.
  19. open m/s paint. press ctrl w and type in 50% into the size boxes?
  20. Just try undoing the bleed screw, and take the top off the brake fluid resevoir gravity will cause the fluid to run through the system and bleed itself. That's what I did inadvertantly in the past.
  21. Or upload them to a photo store such as upload.the-corrado.net, then link to them using but removing the spaces.
  22. there's a good guide to setting the mixture on your 16v written by the Haywire. Use the search.
