  1. i know, i should of done that :( do they use the same discs and pads as standard corrado rears? as i've already bought them
  2. i reckon a modified one will look even better, once all that black gappage on the front bumper has been filled in a bit with tasteful fibreglass
  3. they are some of the best pics of it 8) i've not been a fan at all until the other day  but i get the feeling they will be very popular and pretty common. can't wait for the R36 version :)
  4. i went and looked at one in the VW garage near me, must say it does look much better in real life. the rear lights don't photo well, they seem much better when you stood looking around them
  5. how come you have two packs of goodridge hoses? i've only got one on my shelf :(
  6. went to VW yesterday, the calipers (rear) are £69 each and thats exchanging the old ones. It doesn't include the slider pins, they are only availiable with the carriers and are £50 each got some prices for individual parts for the rear calipers, as i'm now thinking i should carry on refurbing the old ones. 357 615 273 = Bleeder valve = £3.53 each caliper + vat 8D0 698 671 = Set of seals for caliper = £13.05 each caliper + vat 8E0 698 470 B = Protective sleeves for guide pins = £8.43 each caliper + vat i work that out as £59 to do the rear calipers, i have two sets of rear brakes so hopefully i can reuse some slider pins
  7. i'm still going to try my luck. even though it is lowered, i don't see that causing any harm. will be interested to see how VW react
  8. lovely that stops me worrying :) i guess it may of just been a faulty part, when i replaced the wishbones the old ones still seemed fine after 140,000miles
  9. sonus der wunder drying towel i find is the best, i have about 5 different types in the garage and thats the best. they come in a twin pack tho, so i found a chap on forum who wanted one and went halfs up on a pack then i posted him the other towel. You don't need two imo
  10. for some reason they told me they would have to replace the whole thing? so a new VW wishbone is being fitted today, i am confused about this sleeve thing, that seems to make the most sense to me
  11. thats what they reckoned, they both had mk2 golfs and knew of this sleeve from them but apparantely mine does have that. i went into VW toask about the part and they said it would be under warrenty but not sure VW would accept it as car has been lowered, so they could use that to get out of it if they wanted to. getting a whole new wishbone fitted tomorrow so once the old one is off i may be able to find out whats wrong
  12. me and a friend, the friend did most of it tho, i made tea and passed stuff to him. maybe we are to blame but we still can't find a reason for it. could the wrong torque setting on the bolt cause it? at first the garage thought a metal sleeve was missing, then when they ordered part they got told the corrado doesn't have one.
  13. am hoping this will solve my "dodgy handling" i alway moan about  turns in too easy sometimes and then you sometimes have to fight the wheel back the other way
  14. yep, been to garage and its the wishbone bush, the bolt is tight and not moving but the rear of wishbone wobbles around. its weird as they were new from VW a year ago this month, £75 each side, the garage are going to replace it on friday. not sure why it could of failed, but car has been terrible to drive for a while and gotten worse. thanks for all the speedy replies :)
  15. i've been driving it for a while and always moaned about handling etc, this could be the cause. in the past year its had wheel bearing, wishbones with rubber, track rods + ends very concerned now :( the garage i use is only 200m down the road, should i get them to look you think, so its deffo not normal?
  16. just been outside shaking my wheels (as you do) and i noticed the front nearside wheel wobbles back and forth alot more than the others, and its rather noisy. also when i look at brake caliper and wheel there seems to be movement between the two, i.e: not moving together i think?? tried to video me shaking it, not sure how good quality this will be, only viewed it on phone..
  17. i know which one pedestrians would rather be run over by
  18. now that makes much more sense to me  looks right
  19. was on pistonheads earlier this year or end of last yaer
  20. they don't make em like they use to  back in my day.....
  21. whatabout things like the slider pins, will i have to buy the carrier to get them?
  22. i bought a set of standard corrado calipers to refurb, so i have two sets, one on car one in garage. halfway through refurbing them and i'm thinking by the time i buy new seals, nipples, rubber boots etc and then worry about slider pins being old ones, i could just get new ones from VW anyone done this before? what is included with a caliper, do i need to give them back the whole lot? carrier? pins? etc or just the caliper part?
  23. hi mate, whereabouts in Essex are you from? they are full of strange noises  i bought mine with 130k on it and the chains weren't done, its now nearing 170,000 and chains still not been done.
  24. i've just had a thought, wouldn't i be better off exchanging my old calipers for new ones, saves alot of time i spose. i have 4 rear calipers now :( as i bought a pair to refurb i should of thought of this
