  1. thats mine^^^ spent loads on it and it keeps breaking itself? lives in a cupboard, waste of money
  2. thanks chaps, its great fitting new things, wouldn't get any of that fun on a new car  also when its off the road it saves me at least £60 a week in fuel better pic of the engine bay, seeing as i've tried to clean it up a bit.
  3. Car is off to the garage today to get the brakes done, thought i'd update this thread while i've been out taking pics. I've fitted quite a few bits since i last updated this  Samcos Gruvenparts Rad: BMC Pics from today, its sat in garage waiting for someone to pick it up, then having 288mm front brakes fitted, mk4 rear brakes, new wheel bearings, copper brakes line replaced, handbrake cables etc, wheels are refurbed too had to go back to standard grill after breaking the other one when bonnet got stuck just dumping all my pics together tbh, not much has changed visually
  4. :!:!:! theres a forum league at stake and only 3 races  i feel the pressure now
  5. does anyone that owns bikes on here know any good forums for my friend to sell the aprilia on? he has split it and has some parts left but he isn't good online and i don't know about bikes
  6. i love this pic http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h281/ ... ay0006.jpg shows how much difference rims make to the car!!! quite a lot really, i want new wheels now
  7. the funny thing is that now i'm going to pay someone else to fit brakes  i lost interest after the fuel leak and bonnet getting stuck :( i bought the kit with a mate so the cost was split, plus its the same mate i bought a land rover 101 with, and we need to do the complete brake system on that, its being stripped down to bare chassis and built up so easier to fit the pipes than the corrado the kit is great, really easy to use, every flare and bend has been perfect and i never used one before. Am sure if i had templates of brake lines i could make new ones quite easily, but posting them out without them bending would be the problem
  8. nah, places sell them still http://www.biggred.co.uk/repairpricing.html ^^that site has pretty much all the stuff you need
  9. i was painting them more for protection and to stop corrosion building up. i already have the handbrake cables :D think i must have everything now.....i hope
  10. so painting where the pads go is ok? why not the lever? while your here  does the standard corrado handbrake cable fit straight onto the mk4 caliper? am getting garage to do mine now b ut need to be sure they have everything they need
  11. just painting the rear calipers i bought and wondered whereabouts i shouldn't put paint?? i've editted the image in photoshop to make it easier to refer to i was going to paint the green area, but none of the red, also the face you can't see between the red and green, is that correct? also the little blue area on the cylinder part, is it ok to paint that, it looked all shiny and clean cut like the area where the banjo bolts sit?
  12. i got my RC car out at the weekend and its broke :( sick to death of that thing, just breaks for no reason, its just been sat in cupboard for about 1year. i may as well stick a corrado shell on it  it sucks money up just the same but probably about 1/10th of the cost
  13. my car is classic green, i just went with black as the brake dust won't make them look too dirty  am sure they do a green hammerite
  14. if you look at engine from the bay on a RHD drive car, its on the top left hand corner of the engine, if its a VR that is
  15. doesn't the secondary water pump come on when you switch engine off?
  16. yeah if they are attached to the caliper, then the other end should be a 10mm female union that fixes to the brake lines
  17. can some explain that diagram and how it all works? i know its a LHD car but i still can't work out how the mech works. plus with mine the nipple with the grub screw is at the end?
  18. UPDATE: chilled out and bit and had a think, but with the aircon thingy at bottom of engine there's no way to get to the latch from underneath. i could squeeze my very thin hands through the gap between headlight and radiator :!:! and touch the latch but that was all then it stuck me  dug this out, its from the door pull mech.. put it in gap, looped over latch and pulled and it opened :D sacrificied my badgeless grill but am sure i can get another one
  19. lol no its just been in my garage for a week. once i get bonnet open and fix the fuel leak enough to get it to the garage i'm going to get them to fit brakes and check out all the fuel lines. am sick of it now :(
  20. was all set to fit my brakes today, but everything is seized :( gave up and fitted bmc instead, easy life. Started car and was about to back out of garage when i noticed fuel really gushing out from the back of car. Ran around and turned it off, tried to open bonnet but now thats decided to get stick. I've broke the grill already and the nipple that holds the cable has come off the end so the cable now pokes out through the grill opening nightmare :(
  21. i got to mine from underneath the car, i think i hooked a jubilee clip over the prongs on the standard hose clip and then tightened that up so it clamped the prongs together and released the clip. i nearly considered cutting through the hose at one point, you might need to remove the plastic bits underneath the bumper
  22. i reckon with the right mods it could look alright, but would have to be a nice "fresh" looking corrado imo pics of rest of the car?
