  1. yes, i had this noise too and new top mounts with plenty of copperease solved it
  2. this happened to me recentely and i had just knocked the slider switch on side of fob to halfway between the 2 settings  was there for ages trying to work it out
  3. i've done quite well with my corrado, 160,000miles old and the spoiler hasn't broken, the heater matrix is fine, the heater controls never broke and the sunroof works  probably just jinxed myself now :(
  4. not sure how many have leather here, but wondering how you guys look after it? i know there is a guide on here by jedi_nath, and its actually my car in the guide, but i don't feel the gliptone is really doing anything that will make the leather last much longer, its certainly not turning back time (may be impossible) i find the gliptone makes the seats nice for nearly a week, then most of it seems to be on your clothes and the seats return to how there were before you started. heres some pics of my seats they not too bad, but i want to keep it that way, they just feel a bit dry to me and the "crazing" seems very obvious... this is the bolster on the base of seat, can see here that only the seat facings are real leather, and its these area that look old now am thinking of getting something from here: http://www.lttsolutions.net/ ^^^anyone any experience of that stuff?
  5. if it were mine i would of saved it for sure, i would of loved to of seen it fixed up... i think he got fed up with it over christmas period, couldn't find where to buy repair panels for it, sills and rear quarter etc so got rid, the engine needed work too
  6. he said they grabbed it off the back off his trailor with a big grabber thing that ripped through the car, so not even sure they keep any of it
  7. i know, its a big shame really as looked nice, i even said if he gave up i'd have it to build some kinda track car from it or to learn a bit of engine work on :( feck knows why he didn't keep the rims and interior? am sure even the glass would be worth something if anyone is after a splitter then i can save that before he decides to chuck it :(
  8. will have another go at this then, Ta......must be loads of stuff gone MIA under my seat
  9. Hi mate, i didn't want to mention this as i feel bad about what happened, but was out of my control. i asked him about 2-3weeks ago what has happened to it, and he scrapped it :! only kept the front splitter/spoiler bit. he did add that it need 2 new sills and the boot floor needed welding (which i didn't know before) even so i told him he is an idiot, he only got £70 for it, i reckon the wheels, interior and a few panels would of fetched at least triple that
  10. it was the plastic runner bits that i gave up on, the very first step. i couldn't see what to pull of and didn't wanna break anything? do i pull of the thing covering seat runners on the inside edge of seat, (against handbrake tunnel) do they come off from the back? its always so dark inside the car and no room to do anything
  11. whats up with heater controls? is this another common thing to break? mine seem fine still, what happens when they break?
  12. rare but i wouldn't say desirable or sought after....most people haven't even heard of them. its more a case of what a buyer is willing to pay i think and how long the seller has to sell it

looks super nice mate. best colour interior too 8)
  14. furthermore to my crappy steering, i've found that if i go for a drive say 20-30miles, then park up and leave car for about 1hr, then come back and drive off, the steering is at its worst, very sloppy, very knocky, very vague. Then after a few miles 5 or 10, the steering seems to get a bit better, still crap, but much less knocky???? weirdness still not been to stealth as i don't wanna go all that way and they just tighten a hose or something. I'm not sure where to look tbh
  15. just read mine again, when i say base i meant the plastic base bit that the complete seats in on top of? i.e: not taking the leather seat base apart from the leather seat back
  16. nice one. i had trouble working out how to remove the seats, couldn't see where to start so gave up. what i want to do is take them out and give them a nice proper clean and leather treatment then stick back in. when you say separating the base is this just bolts/screws?
  17. was sat in car lastnight and wondered if its possible to swap the drivers seat for the passenger seat, the only prob i could see it that the electric controls are in the seat base, but could that be detached from the actual seat? the idea is so the bolsters get more even wear
  18. they too small tho aren't they? if they what i'm thinking of.. would be nice to have a box on wheels, the idea is to live in it most of the time. quite a lot of folk have done africa in a 101 (from looking around the web), we hope to rebuild most of it so that not much can go wrong, although its not avoidable. its the fuel consumption that worries me
  19. been to view this at the weekend, thinking of getting it, split effort with a pal plan is to spend 18-24months rebuilding the thing from the ground up, including the V8, but convert it into a camper. Then will go travelling, the main voyage will be a tour of africa over 12months. but will do some shorter trips beforehand, shakedowns if you like
  20. not sure if you have to, but i fitted the same kit to mine and used standard VW bumpstops, but i did cut them down.
  21. VW need a coupe to compete with cars like the TT imo Not too keen on the current VW range, nothing i'd call sporty there
  22. i coould be tempted by one of these, wanna at least see some reviews etc before i get serious tho, could be crap, the corrado was so ace as the competition was pretty crap back then
  23. the chap on wheeler dealers just spray paints carpet to change the colour
  24. i fecked up my locking the other day, was sat on drive couldn't start car, alarm was going off, remote fob was lighting up when i pressed it but had no effect on car. turns out i'd knocked a sliding button on the fob so it was resting halfway between two settings and not doing anything
  25. i have started to collect some, going to get just minichamps from now i think. got these over the lastweek, apart from corrados, already had them only a small collection
