Ok, havent a clue in this kinda stuff, but I take it a rebuild is a lot cheaper than just new parts? Why not get a new gearbox? Or is that just a stupid question?
-
What's your experience like with the S then Kev?
-
What size of wheels do you have Neil?
-
Lol, I wouldnt have put Dr in if I wasn't gonna become a Dr, lol :-P But yeh, the only way I could afford this car at this age was cos I know I will be able to pay it off without too much difficulty. Until I start working though, like I said, really tight budget, I'm living on my loan right now :(
-
I'm a final year student who will become a dentist in January (gotta pass my exam remember :-P), but even then, I have to start paying off the loan I took out to buy this Storm, lol... I'll buy Meguiars NXT stuff next then
-
I haven't had good experience from the T1-S that I had before, I current have Avon ZV3 (which aint the best of tyres) and they actually feel better. That could also be due to the fact that the Toyo's were on 17s and the Avons are on 15s....

;) Lol, I did see that... except they have a range of waxes... mostly quite expensive, why such a big range? Their cheapest is £40, I take it this is many times better than the AutoGlym stuff I use currently? To put it into perspective.... the £6 of Autoglym bottle that I bought, was just about my budget :(

I did miss out on the Mystic Blue, but the beige leather was more important to me than the colour of the car, so I had to go for the Classic Green

See, I bought the Storm for it's exclusivity, I'm a bit of an idiot like that, I dont have A/C, I dont have headlamp washers, and I really dont care, I honestly don't. The way I see it, it's less to go wrong with the car, we all know how reliable Corrado's are..... I wanted a Storm right from the start, and I did get a Storm, and I'm glad I did. I was about to settle for a highly specced VR6 (not Storm), in excellent condition, but I'm glad I didnt cos I would be settling for "2nd best", I know it's not 2nd best but its not what I had my heart set on. I know people will be looking at me and thinking what an eejit, but it's just what I wanted. Unfortunately I did pay a premium for it too, but oh well, it makes me happy, I guess that's what matters eh.

coolrado: LOL :D So stuff like AutoGlym and Meguiars have Carnuba in them aswell? How much is the Swissol stuff though? On a tight budget :(
-
Ok, a question, whats the difference between Carnuba wax and any other wax? What other types of waxes are there? And which types are the best to use for the car? And THEN.... which brand does a good version of the recommended type of wax? Lol.. I think that's me done for now.... :-P

Why is there engine damage when you stop? Someone educate me....
-
I'm so glad you said that, I was beginning to think I was expecting too much from tyres :)

Sorry for hijacking your thread but a question if I may. I find my headlights to be fine, did VW update the headlights on their later models or do I just have a low standard of "good headlights"?
-
BMC/Cold air ind kits - are they really worth it?
Dr Forinor replied to coullstar's topic in Engine Bay
True enough, can always sell it, sorry I didnt mean it in a bad way when I asked him to "confirm" your statement, you sound kinda cheesed off (by the exclamation mark at the end of your sentence). -
Without a doubt!!! :D
-
If he is mentally ill then I feel sorry for him, but otherwise, what an ass....
-
LMAO! Love the disclaimer-type statement!
-
Fair enough, can't argue with that eh :-)

I am with RAC and they have actually been really good so far in terms of how quickly they come out to you. In terms of how well they diagnose a problem, I think it depends more on the individual that comes rather than the company (ie RAC or AA etc), but I think I will stick with RAC for now anyway.
-
So by the looks of it, the Pagid FRs seem to be really popular, glad I decided to ask here first than to just to go with the EBCs. dinkus: Lol, you know, I think I might just do that :D Thanks for all the advice/input fellas :thumbleft:

I've never heard a good thing about Greenflag, you are the first one to say they are good corradowales.

When I first got my brakes changed on my first car (going back about 5 years now), the garage didn't tell me that they won't be as they would be once bedded in, I drove off and thought "what a cheating b@stard, he didn't even change the brakes", went back and threw a fit...... "you have to let them bed in" says the mechanic.... You live and learn eh

A few hundred miles???? Shucks, I only do like 100 miles a week, so I'm gonna have to wait until halfway through October till I can see the real benefit? Oh well, good things come to those who wait eh :D Lol, you sound more excited than I am dinkus, lmao!

If you want my honest opinion, I don't like them, but like Vortech said, if it makes you happy and if it's what you want, then don't let anyone put you off.
