mine was like that when JMR fitted a portted head a couple of weeks ago. Cheap oil by previous owner!!!!!!!!

it the rear pulley which you can see once you have the wheel off. Hook the new belt onto the front pulley use the screwdriver to hold the belt onto the rear one and just turn the socket. One point be a little careful arround the brake pipe as you are turning the sockets just a few clicks at a time. Once the belt is on half way remove the screwdriver and turn soctet until belt slips on completely. There you go . I replaced my old worn belt on my G60 two weeks ago for a new one so i know it can be done in this manner. Cheers Woody

Do that tensioner back up amd do not remove water pump unless replacing as g12 will pi** all over the place. To change the power steering belt jack up and Remove drivers front wheel. Then you will able to see a bolt head in the middle of the pulley. Get suitable socket and screwdriver and place new pulley onto PAS pulley nearest front of car and then turn socket whilst feeding onto the rear pulley using the screwdriver to help it on its way. 20 min job max Cheers Woody

THanks of rhte advice with rockers insane_VR6 managed to sort out getting the rocker covers off with a small screw driver, I was well scared doing it, trip to stealer with bag of money for a switch. I now have a nice blue in all window switches, fog, Sunroof and redimister switches. I will have a go at the headlight switch tonight. Then all i will be left to do is lighter, heater slider controls and installing DDR dials.

SCARY!! VR6 Gearbox Strip down and Quaife Diff Install
woody replied to 24V Renshaw's topic in Drivetrain
Very impressed m8. Benn thinking about having my gearbox rebuilt with a new diff and VR6 2nd Gear. How much and where from was the new diff -
Cheers Insane Done the windws already and sunroof and indicator lights to blue. It was the rockers on the switches which were stumping me

Mine used to blink when i first started the engine on on the morning and then if i were to stop the engine and restart it it would settle down and not blink. I have had two new tanks in the last year both with faulty senders in the expansion tank. I beleive it blinks because it cannot detect a flow of G12 returning through the system which arrives into the tank from the small pipe on the upper side of the tank. Last time as a matter of course i also changed the Blue and the Black sensors from the front of the head just in case.

OK trying to change the colour of the light on all the switches on an early style C. Fog , Rear Dimister and lights have got me!!! How do you get to the filters green and orange to take them out. Cheers Woody

Well happy with my miltek. Talk to john (16vg60)

I was under the impression it was best to go for VAG mounts for the rear and gearbox mount as they do not take as much of a hammering then the front mount. 16vg60 on this forum makes the solid front engine mounts.
-
I did this and to get the hazard light to fit had to buy the surround as well. If you have bought some golf ones you will find like i did that the cable from the MFA side is to short to reach the connector. If you have got corrado ones this will not be a problem.
-
talk to 16vg60 on this forum (jmr) for a solid mount.

JMR (16vg60) do these. They are made by miltek and have the probe correctly positioned and flexible joint. Had mine fitted and ported exhaust manifold at same time. £220 - for the pipe
-
talk to 16vg60 on this forum. He rebulds chargers. Usually about every 20k depending on porting ect. I think a standard rebuild is about £350

Go to the doctors so that is a record. Otherwise the insurance company will not support you if you try and claim more money futher down the line in time. Also tell the insurance company that you have visited the doctors.

I tried to get a set of Rc's last year and Elete Wheels told me that BBS did not have any and they were not making them anymore.

Anybody know what the power supply for the bulb in early sliding heater controls are ? I am in the middle of changing colour to blue and need to know whether a resistor is required.
-
16vg60 will do exchange heads for £350 requiring swap over of cam from old head. Fitting would require gaskets arround £100 (VAG) and about 8 hours labour to dismantle old head and replace head and setup. To have your Throttle body ported and flowed £75 + setup time. My car is a completley different animal now
-
Did this the other day. They do fit behind the LCD into the original holes althrough you do have to file the plastic slightly on the bulb holder. Much better light and no dark spots. I also left the white diffuser piece of plastic in the LCD holder

Big thanks to 16vg60 for the work on Sat. He removed my head and put a Ported and flowed head back on. Also ported and flowed my throttle body. Car is now much more responsive and the acceleration is much better( it nearly caught me out on the A27 roundabout ). It also is a much smoother ride at idle. Top work and very pleased.
