  1. i tend to park on end spaces and overlap onto hatched areas slightly to avoid picking up dings, or look like i cant park properly so no-one can really get in the space next to me.
  2. get new blue cap and seal to.not much and worth it.
  3. i once ahd to take a mate to bloody great yarmouth to pick up a mr2 t-bar for £6k as he thought it was the right car etc. paid me fuel etc though , and car was nice but he could have got one virtually the same for £2k less nearer home.or got a Corrado vr6.lol was 13hrs driving that day, good fun tanking down the m25 just to drive and avoid rush hr and get off the bleeding stretch of motorway .
  4. the most annoying bit aprt from getting box from out of dash is getting the bloody clips back on the cables for the vent control.
  5. if its matrix which it sounds like then £35 ish for a new one is all you need plus bottle of G12. takes about 3hrs ish to change depending on how many you've done before i suppose. dont have to take the dash out either just lower trim both sides. have fun as its a bugger of a job i've done it 4 times and hated it every single time :D
  6. had mine welded and resprayed also for £290 and that included rear bumper resprayed to and a scrap removed from front bumper, plu got left over paint for touch up
  7. I have a mate who used to work for rover, who said it takes literally a matter of minutes to program a key. If they're going to charge you £110, and you have no choice, ask what the mechanic rate per hour is, and then say you'll pay on the condition that you watch the whole process. THIEVES!! if you went in a VW dealer and said that we'd let you watch but still have to charge you the set amount whatever
  8. your best off getting a key off ebay getting spare blade cut then just paying VW for coding
  9. i've got a 1.8 16v on normal commute which is 10 miles b road, a road, and 5-10mins in town i get around 30-35mpg. On motorway can get upwards of 38mpg if just rolling along at 70mph. totally depends on how its driven (apart from obvious stuck in town traffic)
  10. with difficulty i dropped a bonnet of to one guy before and we managed to get it in his rado with rear seats down, his seat forward abit more than usual and passenger seat tilted forward. (i took it down in my old mans volvo estate)
  11. if you can drive and change gear properly then dont bother if you cant then have it. as for reliability we've yet to have any major issues with it.
  12. hopefully for your sake it wouldnt be VAG rate of £67 +VAT an hr
  13. must be honest if i saw one of these out would thinks its the real deal being no porsche expert and all.
  14. aye is it much fiddling to do, was looking at 2.0L 16v clocks in a 1.8 16v
  15. wiil the facelift clocks go in a pre facelift car ok or because of the digital odometer etc will they not go in?
  16. toolbox with essentials, water, oil, grease, gloves, warning triangle,wd40,torch, fuses, bulbs, spare hoses, towel, blanket, tow rope and prob some other little bits, most fits nicely in a smallish toolbox and rest is in with spare wheel and where first aid kit would be, so doesnt look to alarming to people getting in that something will break, i just know i have stuff there when it does break.lol ps also Breakdown recovery number in manual.
  17. my Corrado has had two rear fogs since i got it so someone must have had a play with it before or thought one wasnt working and put a bulb in. i always thought twin rear fogs were standard on Corrado's though?
  18. the level should drop once you start the engine and let it run abit then stick in another litre usually.
  19. the fact is never actually runs 100% always something need doing. Crappy headlights, wipers and that bloody piece of plastic crap by the handbrake. and not the most elegant car to get in and out of when your a lanky steak of pi$$ like me.
  20. think i must still hold the record for oil temps at 160 degress. 8) pretty sure it prob caused cylinder head to crack somewhere as it was never the same afterwards whatever was tried.
  21. I've got a spare fog switch and was wondering is it poss to get it wired up so i can have seperate front and rear fog buttons. Expect this would mean taking wires out of harness plug and rewiring them? Car is a 1.8 16v also have a spare rear heater switch which i put in next to headlight switch, any one any ideas on what to hook it upto? was thinking maybe footwell lighting?
