The CC Splitter doesn't seem to work on bright colours but on dark blues, black & even grey it looks fine... until it flakes off!

I love that steering wheel, I want one!
-
I always do it at home, you get a far more thorough job you can wax it straight after (it'll get dirty on the way home!) and it's almost free! Don't car washes put litle scratches on the paintwork anyway? The jet wash things are good but they are still quite expensive and you don't get enough time!

Does the boot have a lock on it? Perhaps the central locking bas boogered after they'd torn the roof and doors off..!

RW1 is the man you want to be speaking to about this, he is so knowlegable I normally have him locked in my cupboard under the stairs... I keep him alive by feeding him wiring diagrams. ;)

It does look like immobiliser even to my untrained eye... What did the mechanic suggest to fix it?

I think i'm right in saying that VAG-COM will be pretty useless on a valver though, only reads ABS codes IIRC.

Nice one, good news :)

Nice one, needs a sticky I reckon...

You don't have to disconnect the leads, just taking the leads out of the guides and removing part of the plastic gives you plenty of room. Socrates75, I just took mine out for cleaning because I had nothing better to do!

At the back of the engine there is a black (I think) plastic bit that kind of half covers the throttle body and the ISV. You have to take this off, or at least half remove it, can't remember how it's secured but it's obvious. Then you will see the ISV (you'll know what it looks like because you'll have another one!) and it's just a case of replacement - 3 hoses (I think) & one plug. :) HTH

Mine is flush on my passeneger side but sticks out on the driver side, definately not right. My window doesn't rattle though and as you say the water will just run straight through so it doesn't bother me much.

It is very easy to do mate. You have to take off the plastic facia cover thing then simply undo the hoses & unplug it then fit the new one. 10 minute job max. :)

I like the dove grey, all greys look great on the C! Do it!

chrishill, superb idea. Great set of questions as well. :thumbleft:

Hi, check out the Reccommended garages (south) in the Suppliers forum mate, there're two in Portsmouth & one in Southampton that might be of use... EDIT: Also you may find a mod will move this post to the Suppliers forum as you are looking for a supplier/service. :)

Good idea doing this thread... I'm liking the flyby shots idea although at first I thought you meant taken from a helicopter!

Hello mate, welcome to the forum. What was your mates username do you know?

I may be talking out of my bottom, but I think one of the beauties of all that chrome is it just requires a bit of glass spray and a quick wipe...?

Is his car twice as fast or something??

Too far away for me, oh well! :)

gradeAfailure, have you seen pictures of NickVR6's now he's put the spring caps on and dropped the koni's a notch at the back? Looks visibly lower IMO yet not so low he can't go anywhere! I'm thinking of doing the same to mine, cos it is just a tad to high.. and I deffo can't be buying coilovers at the moment!
