  1. Was watching re-runs of top gear over christmas and noticed they showed the driver rumoured to be the stig driving a group N evo down a hill racing a teenager on a mountain board. Heres the clip. He also drove the Merc convertible that they parachuted into the back of. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IV3C2k_ea0I&NR http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBLr5fWt ... ed&search=
  2. seems that way. Bought some CV boots from GSF for the S3, they both split during fitting. Going to the dealers more and more these days for parts.
  3. i got some from GSF, they were wrong. Took them back, whole stock was wrong, so i didn't get replacements. Let us know how much VAG charge as i'll order some too.

    ford recaros

depends if there recaro subframes. If you have standard vw subframes, save your money and put up with the factory seats.
  5. 5hrs on the M6 leaving the motorshow on a friday evening.
  6. leave them alone. Car's perfect looks wise.
  7. chip foose, he actually worked for boyd and designed the Boydster and several other of boyds "kit cars" as well as winning the Riddler more times than any other hot rod builder.
  8. if i was going to do it again i go with MTM springs and Koni FSD dampers. The H&R are good springs but the rear is a little high (with Eibach the front sits high) and bisteins are generally good but at 30mph on a poor road surface they are completely out of phase with the springs. The Koni FSD dampers are supposed to have been developed avoid this. Or save the extra £150-£200 and get a set of coilovers!!! The FK's on my corrado are still the best ride vs handling kit i've owned. Just the maintaince with coilover is a pain unless you stretch to the stainless versions.
  9. i've probably forgot what a standard c is like. I did go mental with the dynamat.
  10. When i was running standard suspension it was a horrible car to drive. The ARB's transformed the handling and unbelievable (unexpectedly!!) added a load of steering feel. Adding H&R's springs and Bilstein B8's improved the pitch underbraking and accerating but robbed the steering of about 30% of the feel the ARB's alone added. A well modified corrado is more of a drivers car but for a 10mins rag around the S3 would leave it trailing due that midrange punch. S3's are noisy on the motorway, makes my C feel like a limo.
  11. there £750 from Audi! £150-250 on ebay for secondhand ones. Nice car trigger, they need H&R ARB's!!!! Shame your in cornwall, could take you for wizz round the block in mine.
  12. thanks fella, they certainly do. Buying them for all my mates too.
  13. these will do the trick Click Me
  14. my friend had one for 12month. Its was fast, got 6-7k out of a set of front tyres. Downside was the rear footwell kept filling up with water when it rained. Seat couldn't find the problem and once the car became very smelly they offered him good deal another car. Not sure if its a common problem. Personally, i think they look great for a 5 door and will be very quick if you chip them to 265. Hard as nails.

    Size Issue haha

i'm sure there will be someone on the forum in your neck of the woods who'll let you have drive around the block.
  16. spoke to Ian Birch about this. Says its possible but need to cut out the transmission tunnel. Too much work really.
  17. you can get an A3 1.8T Sport for circ £3K. Worth 5mins thought and a butchers on autotrader. Most mk2's are rotten these days. Mk3's are dogs too.
  18. here's the link for the front side lights. Take 5days from hong kong. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... &rd=1&rd=1
  19. Done on the S3 but planning on doing it to the C too. LED sidelights!!!! Much better than pi55 yella bulbs. Cost? £2.70 delivered.
  20. i was with Brentacre for 5 years. They were ok, usually the cheapest but kept moving the goal posts every time i asked for an agree value to the point were i was actually offended by there conduct. They were £100 cheaper but i was effectively un-insured without the agreed value!! Too many people look are the cost of insurance only, not the package your getting for your money!!
  21. Finally after a long time out i've actually started working on the corrado again (still tinkering a little with the S3). Dragged the rear beam out and continued with re-welding all the joints and smoothing back the welds. Also managed to get hold of a rear engine mounting bracket which has been a sod to find. Remove all the casting lines, part numbers and a little re-shaping for a cleaner look. Hasn't been polished up yet as i'm thinking about filling in the web near the mounting hole but ally's a real pain to weld. Re-powder coated eibach bars in bright red, far nicer than the standard maroony colour. Also used the S3 as a bit for a test bed for some lighting mods. Xenon interior lights are the b****cks! After some trial and error, found some bulbs (for the fogs) which actually looks very similar to the HID main beams. They will also be finding their way into the corrado. Few more lighting mods to come tomorrow.
  22. Congrats on the PVW feature!!! Problem with mag feature's is they miss sooo much. Legend!!
