  1. Location: Essex Price: 1875.00 GBP Date added to Classifieds: 24th Jan 2012 Description: Model: 6n2 1.6 16v GTI Year/Reg: It's a 2000 'X' plate. Previously registered as 'L2 DUB', incase this helps you do any checks on it's history/status. Mileage: Just a tad under 67k. MOT: Due to expire in April, I expect that it will have no issues passing. Tax: Currently SORNed Good points: -Low mileage and only two owners (officially three owners; when I first bought it my mum was the keeper). -The gearbox was fully reconditioned at 32k. The pedal box was also replaced under recall. I have the relevant paperwork for this. -Full history - some main dealer and more recently by independent garages. -G60 steelies with plenty of tread on the tyres. -K&N filter; headlight protectors. -Pretty clean for an 11 year old car! Bad points: -The interior has some wear, as you would expect for its age. I'm a fat b'stad, so the drivers seat edge is a little frayed. There are some marks on the front seats. -Passenger window doesn't work. -The climate control works, but could do with a re-gas to be ultra cold. -There are some scratches, again, as you would expect with the age of the car. And because I'm not that good at wielding a snow shovel. Oops. The passenger side has been keyed, it's not too bad though. -It's last service/MOT threw up a track rod end that needed replacing, which was done. Since then, the steering wheel has been a little on the wonk. It's not eaten the tyres though, so probably just needs adjusting. Location: Wickford, Essex. Approximately 20 minutes from Jct29 of the M25. You can have either/both! Price: £1875 or near offer. I think that's reasonable given its age, mileage etc. I don't wish to part-ex or swap for another car; I've already bought one. 3. I wear a vintage GMT Master every day! I'd like a vintage Sub eventually too.
  4. The last time I saw one was in November! Red, broken down near the Holiday Inn, Ipswich. I was on the way to pick up my new car and thought it might be a 'sign'.....
  5. My daily of more than 6 years (longest I've ever had a car  ), a Polo GTI. I've been thinking of maybe replacing it in a year or two, but then I think I'd want to hang on to it anyway  so maybe it'll be second-car to a new 'Rocco, cross that bridge when I come to it!
  6. Blimey. I never checked its history :camp: . So it had done what, 140k on the original charger?!!!! That's a record, surely!
  7. I had to declare them as if they were alloys, in modification terms :cuckoo: Steeliest discrimination, imo
  8. It already looks at home :D I hope you get more time to enjoy it than I have lately :luvlove:
  9. Nice one, get the details up then, which one did you buy????? He bought mine 8)
  10. Polo GTI/Mistubishi Spacestar. The Corrado comes out only very occasionally :?

    Aaarrrgh!

Definitely report it to the police - I'm sure they would class that as failing to stop after and accident or something. AFAIK, you have 24 hours from the time of the incident to report it. Someone caused a fair bit of damage to my old golf once and drove off and left it - insurance would have written it off, it still cost me about £90 to fix it myself, new light, grille, paint etc. :( Good luck
  12. Sorry to hear you had a close one - its' not nice at all. There really is no accounting for the way some people drive. A while ago, I was driving along, minding my own business, came to a mini roundabout and a lad skidded out in front of me, not even glancing in my direction!!!! Had I not of already slowed down a little (it's a roundabout with not much visibility until you're right on it) there would have definitely been a collision  With the 'fight' part of my 'fight or flight' reflex in full swing, I followed him and gave him a very colourful peice of my mind when he stopped    Him looking red faced and about to cry kind of made me feel better, I hope the experience will make him think twice next time!!!!!
  13. Hmm, probably my mk1 - which was a 46k, totally mint and unmolested 1.5 GLS.
  14. Just a tad over 3 years, which is a long time to have a car (for me anyway). I was thinking today, my Polo and I have had a monogamous 'daily driver' relationship for over 4 and a half years now - thats the longest ever!!
  15. Filled up yesterday...I got 283 miles out of 3/4 of a tank...can't do the maths  It was the diff that was knackered :(
  16. I've had mine for over 4 years, 2000 model, 3 door It's comfortable, nippy, not too bad on petrol and I can fit my large pikey dog in the boot :) I think I've experienced all of the 'common' problems... Ignition barrel seized, rad fan siezed, pedal box replaced under recall (all done foc, these happened while it was under warranty also) Boot lock was faulty and made the alarm go off (£££'s for VW to spend 4 hours @ £90 an hour to 'diagnose' the fault, even though when I booked it in they said it was a common failure!!! Last time I ever went to VW!!) Electric window stopped working Gearbox failed @ 32k miles (£718 all in, reconditioned by a specialist, fitted by Skoda dealership) Coilpack & leads just been replaced this week (£180) Original alloys rotten - shame because they suit it perfectly!
  17. That's the most pointless competition ever! Making a full sized car-cake would take more than 5 days and cost more than £100. Doesn't surprise me its the mail though. Anyway, I love the ad, its really innovative. I wonder how they managed to get the mirrors to stay on, maybe there's some kind of cunning internal framework shenanigans going on. If you look very carefully, the wingmirrors are secured with sticks of pink rock, then I think covered with icing? The rock has 'Skoda' all the way thru it
  18. Mine has no cat, and managed about 1.8% at one point I think. Mind, once I got it back to the test centre for a re-test, it had gone up to 4.5  The trouble with mine was most likely the blue temp sensor thing, which I have now replaced - fingers x'd for this years MOT ;)
  19. You should have no trouble, i think the co2 limit for my g60 was 3.5% or something....
  20. If it's a fixed camera, you should get notice of intended prosecution within 14 days, if it's a mobile camera, 6 months iirc.
  21. Kick-in-the-privates disheartening when thigs break, but otherwise good fun!!!! They are beasts!
  22. I have had at least ten calls from these people. One even pretended to be a private buyer?! Today they rang twice in the space of ten minutes. I told them to fck off
  23. I can't say I've noticed much difference by using Tesco stuff tbh. Optimax is best. Interestingly, I've never had a VW that liked Esso fuel? Anyone else found this?
  24. Tescos 99RON - 94.9/l Shell V power - 99.9/l I got a tankfull of the Shell stuff yesterday
