  1. Did it from memory but have edited my post since.

First photo, right side. You can see the black breather pipe and rusty clip from the charcoal filter on top of the gravity valve. The breather pipe is attached to the spout coming off the top. Theres a sliding clip in that remaining mud that releases the valve.

I was describing it from underneath in the wheel arch as a ball well you llok upwards which is the bottom half you can see in the photo.

    .

Thanks for that info. I think I'll start there as its suspect :) does the slide clip just slide upwards? And out it pops? I'm hoping maybe I can clean it up or something... Is is possible to remove this without having to drop the tank?

  2. Some good info there, will have get vag com out check valve... Checked around the filler neck and I see the below...

    Right side....

    Left side...

Now. There was a massive build up on mud and all sorts around that area... Where exactly am I looking for the breather can't see anything like a ball shape?

  3. I'm after a front sub frame for a corrado VR6.

If by any chance it's powder coated already then great if not no worries as I'd get it done before fitting :)

Ideally would like it posted. Or if its local to Stoke on Trent id collect :)

    Cheers

    Pete

  4. Possibly the valve from the carbon canister is causing it.

Disconnect the tank return from the valve an it should relieve the pressure

Is that the valve that is mounted to the strut behind where the air intake is ? Any way of testing that valve works? I unplugged the cable and ran vagcom and it threw an error, plugged it back in and it went away? :)

  5. Took both my cars for an MOT. both failed!

    Punto 2007 plate

    Emissions

Exhaust practically snapped in half on the flexi!

    Corrado (most importantly)

    Emissions - Passed!

    Brakes - Passed

2x front to rear hard lines - Failed (corrosion)

1x Front passenger side ABS to Flexi - Failed (corrosion)

    ARB Drop Links - Failed

    Advisories:

Headlamp alignment, noticed that the glass fitted to my drivers side was from a left hooker, so was sending the beam pattern the wrong way, will replace the glass from my spares.

Brake discs pitted - not surprising, its been standing for over 3 years :)

Front Subframe bolt that holds the passenger side wishbone was just spinning, wouldnt tigthen up, closer inspection looks like someone has attempted to repair the captive nut but has made a right bodge of it! as it looks like a sealed unit, it will be just be easier and probably safer to replace the sub-frame so now on the hunt for one I can get powder coated etc...

Everything else was spot on... no reason why it shouldnt pass if i just did the drop links, and brake lines, but i really dont want to until ive sorted the sub-frame, and swapped the head light lense over too...

Well, its a bit of a bummer but it was worth the £25 MOT cost to know what is wrong and what i need to fix before I can get it on the road!!

The punto on the other hand... im gonna drive off a cliff !

  6. Ok, so my front sub-frame is fecked! The bolt that secures the wish bone on the passenger side keeps spinning and resulting in clunking noises and play....

Im told a captive nut has probably snapped, therefore isnt secured properly... looks like some has previously tried to cut it open as it's all mashed and can see visible signes of welding!

Soooooooooo. I think I need a new front sub frame is anyone has one?

My question is what Bolts etc... would I need to replace to do the job...? With any part numbers... will probably get new lower arms too while im at it... can anyone recommend how i can go about doing this ? :)

really frustrated that another persons bodge has left me with what I consider an unsafe sub-frame!

    cheers

  7. Well, my MOT was a bit of a flop today!

Few issues (expect other threads to appear :) )

but one issue is that it stank of fuel... from the tank area... no leaks, has been bone dry, but after having it running a large build up of pressure is seen in the tank, and when i un-screwed the petrol cap, there was a massive hiss and it stunk of fuel! so seems to be a build up of pressure...

some advise needed as to what could cause this, and what can I do to resolve the issue...are there any common issues / breather pipes etc to look at?

    Cheers

    Pete
