I think the best option has to be just avoiding the E38 show like the plague!

Hope to see you there, hopefully i'll be in my Corrado too :)

  2. Good idea Portent.

It's a sorry state of affairs with edition 38, the last time I went there were muppets, and lots of reports of items being stolen from tents, damage to cars, and some poor girl had a glass bottle thrown at her head and ended up in A&E, further more when they eventaully got back they had found there tend has been robbed of items, what was even worse is that the threads quickly get removed from the E38 forum and appear to brush over the problem!

If any event I organised as part of the VR6OC even ended up like that I simply wouldnt run the events :)

    just my thoughts though :)

  3. Its really sad seeing threads like this :(

when i bought my corrado, and i admit was cheap as chips and probably not far from getting scrapped due the amount of work needed doing to it, i put a lot of time and effort into bringing it back to its former glory. theres still more to do on the bodywork and possibly more welding but that wont put me off. although has taken 3 years to be in a position where im happy to put it back on the road :)

Last jobs before MOT, fitted new stainless straps, went on a treat. Just need clean up the mounting point on the left and apply some rust prevention where the under seal wasn't covering up, also filed off some of the lugs in the HT lead guides so they now fit properly and finished tidying / wrapping my obd2 loom install.

Really happy with the straps. The old ones were very badly corroded.

  5. I'm 85 miles away from Vince. I'm simply getting my tracking done and taking it steady.

Ill also be getting a few other things done while I'm there too :-)

Can't wait for the drive home.

Same happened to me. If you ground for too long it will keep going until it pops out the plastic bit in the clocks. Simple fix, a very basic component though by looks of things :)

  7. Cracking idea Dave! I might have to give it ago... What did you use to bond it to the original bolster?

Not seen anywhere around here who does foam like that. Any chance you could pick me some up and post? I'd happily cover any cost.
