I also have more mods than on my signature. Mainly H & R adjustable springs, Koni Shocks. Good Luck

Thank you for the explanations and own car comparrisions. So can these items be diagnostly checked, so you only replace the item required or is it a matter of replace one, if not fixed, replace the other as well. I do need to check back through my Service History as I think the thermostat was replaced- probably about 2 years ago - can this go that quickly again ?
-
Most of the insurance companies that are used reguarly on here, do not charge for Mods that have an increase of performance by 10% on the car. Alloys are usually ok. I use Brentacre - everything declared. Give them a call - very helpful and knowledgable of the Corrado too

Why ? Sorry not understanding. If the car is sitting at 75 - 80 for normal running. Sat in traffic rises slowly to 90 -100 Moving off again slowly drops back down to 75-80 Why is that wrong, surely all cars (of ours ages anyway) will get warmer when sat in traffic and then drop again ? Do I get the impression, it is being suggested more fuel will be used if this is not running correctly too. What has fuel usage got to do with car running temperature - that really not make any logical sense to me. Really guys - please explain - in very basic terms too. Thank You

There are loads of people already booked into this on the CCGB website Calender !! Rubbish bloke - Chris !!!!! And - its only money - You only live once !!!! -
There has been one for hire at Stonor for the last few years. Unsure whether it was a split screen - might be worth having a look on the website.

Someone was certainly looking over you. Glad to hear you are ok and was quick thinking enough to get out of the car. Also glad others were around to care for you. Traumatic experience. That is just one junction away from me - did not hear about it . Make sure you get your neck looked at. I also cannot believe that so many do not look further ahead then the nose of their car, perhaps we should have as part of the test - simulators showing braking distances and the advantages of looking way ahead. Actually if I set the driving test, there would only be a few of us left driving on the road - sounds good to me !!.

Not at all helpful - but this sounds brilliant to me. Lights full on under accerlation - as in I am coming through - out of my way - Yeah !!!!
-
I agree about Lee Mack - so bad - yet so funny !! Live at the Apollo is usually good, apart from when Michael McIntyre is on - what is it with that man - always shouting !!
-
Or every race of F1 on the BBC this season !!!!

I really feel for you and hope you manage to get it sorted. Try not to let the Scum that did this make you lose heart.

My 1996 VR has 187k miles on it, I have looked after it as did the previous one owner and it runs really sweet. It has had fair amounts of money spent on it to keep it in good condition, but I have no real complaints, no major rust problems either. Aiming to get 300k out of mine ! Think the guys have guided you through the areas to look out for, if it passes all their notes of advise - buy it. Although if the current owner has just spent £1400 on it, I would not be offering £1500 as previoulsy advised which I feel is a little insulting. Just my view

We don't bite, well not until we know you better and have meet a few times !! Look forward to meeting up.

Thanks Guys I know - but if you saw the state of my office/study - you may understand why it was easier to ask than rumage through the masses of paperwork that is in here. Its in the diary now, seems a long way off before the first meet. Hope its as good as last year, a good turn out and quite a laugh.. Early Easter Eggs this year - do you reckon !!!!! And - what about Yan - do you think he will come up with the same lame excuse as last year - something about distance ?? !!!! Ok, Ok - I am getting my coat and I am signing off ...................

When is the CCGB 2012 AGM ? I am sure I am just being dim - it must be noted somewhere, but I can't locate it. Have 2012 diary and doing my planning - car stuff first - of course !!!

Don't worry about the condition of your car and putting it on CCGB Stands. The majority of us attend these shows due to them being great opportunity to meet up with other Corrado owners from around the country, plus to meet up with old friends and have a chatter a laugh. The weekend shows are best in my opinion for really getting to meet people. So some folk clean their cars all weekend and enter the Show and Shine Events, others - like me - often turn up with dirty cars - and sometimes don't even clean them then. Just remember all these cars are old now, so many are not in good condition.

Stealth Racing at Southam in Warwickshire are highly recommended too. Many people on here use them coming for miles to use them. Vince has worked on the Corrado for ever and highly knowledgeable. Plus Stealth's labour rates are really fair. I am a happy Stealth user for approx 6 years now

Guess you are looking forward to Delhi Belly and the driving !!!!

Sure it lasted fine, but small dent in drivers door - caused by block of wood I think !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not a worry though - very fortunately one of my clients is a Dent Repair Company - who has already looked at it and said it will be an easy fix. I did not metion if prior to the last RR day, as someone was talking about bringing in a Dent repair Company - but I am sure my client based in Banbury could be interested in joining us on the next one. He is very busy and recently taken on more staff so I reckon must be good, I don't think there is a garage/dealership within 30 miles that does not use him.

Yes they are obsolete from VW. Yes, Vince fitted the new one, it just has a motor, no cables. It runs much smoother than the original and significantly faster and quieter. Cost me £70.00 Thanks for helping with the temporary fix at RR day. Wendy

There are some after market ones for sale on ebay without the cables, i have just had one fitted and it is significantly better than the original. I can't provide the direction on ebay as I did not purchase it myself. Good Luck

Thank you, thank you, really appreciate it.

My Plans for 2012 are to continue driving and enjoying my VR. Much more than in 2011 too - only did 8364 miles this year. Oh, I might give her a really good polish and clean the interior - as I am packing up smoking !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Purchase some 16 " wheels, Plus start saving up for the next lot of bills. I am aiming at hitting the 300k mark on the same original engine

I wondered that !!!!
