  1. Have you considered the England area bordering Wales or even Wales ? Close and direct routes to several large cities. Lots of open space. Dependant on exact location prices seem fair. I would recommend my area, near Banbury which is also near ish to large cities.I really love it in these parts nearby to the Cotswolds, Oxford, Warwick, Coventry and Birmingham. Sadly house prices start to rise when you get this far south (Banbury)as it is only a hour by train to London. Good Luck in your search.
  2. I should be able to make this one, with my shiny newly painted Corrado. :-)

I am being swayed this way - thinks you are right.

    Number Plates

Hi All, My car is finally painted !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is not on the road or anywhere near complete, I saw her yesterday, body painted before any of the finishing touches, touch ups etc etc - she is looking really good. Orange peel seems about right although I have not been over her with a fine toothcomb - she was still in 'work in progress'. I am very pleased so far. In the right light the purply tinge comes through as it used to when I first got her - some 14 years ago, that brought a pretty good smile to my face. I am really looking forward to seeing the finished result and getting her back. Yes - this is much later than originally indicated, but I am OK with as I was not using it this winter (my first, so the last thing I want to do is rush the garage and possibly effect the finish. Anyway - Number Plates. The Bodyshop are suggesting new number plates always add hugely to the overal appearance. I have a tendancy to agree - so wondered what the general view was on styling or not on number plates. I personally would just wander off and get some new new very ordinary plates and wonder if I could be missing an opportunity for something a bit different. Perhaps some photo's or links if you don't mind. (Sorry but I hate bling on my cars, something quite stylish/different is more my thing !!) Oh and what about the Euro flag - yes/no/ is it an option even ? Thanks in advance.

Southwest Trimmers - Just how helpful were they? Not open on a Saturday, but arranged to meet me. What excellent service. Having them re-trim it though, after my Bodyshop man saying he does not do them as he does not like the finish compared to the preoffesional refitters !! Thanks guys for the advice.
  6. Just a Service and sort of a few issues. My Zed is fairly standard, its a bit of a beast (276 bhp and rear wheel drive) without anything added, so have not felt the need for mods. It does have a K1 exhaust though - which is the business, proper loud. I am having loads of stage photo's on my Corrado done while it is in the body shop, so hopefully there will not be any problems getting an agreed Value for insurance. Surely the Insurers will want someone to verify this though. Who do we go to, someone on the Corrado Club Committee ?
  7. Well that was a fairly good show on Wheeler Dealers. Shame so many bits did seem to be omitted - like the panel repairs. I also would have liked to have known how you clean all the oil off an engine. Not that I need to know being one of the lucky few who do not have oil problems, but just intrigued. As for the Go Kart Track - I would have beaten any 16v round there in my VR, well except Dave Dewson perhaps- unless he started off behind me !!! As for the Sunroof repair, I know Vince hates doing these, so I have just sent him an email - suggesting he should watch it - as I can't see what the problem is. !!! lol. He will kill me - when I am in there next with my non VW Zed. The show was really encouraging too on the price front, after my respray, that has got to make mine £9000 only 2 owners and one lady careful lady owner for the last 14 years !!! Anyone ?

Chaps hi, Thanks for the responses. Dilemma time - do I opt for the 2nd hand ones on offers (will they look any good refitted) or just bite the bulllet at £120 - £150 ? Others views and why would be appreciated. Also if anyone has photos of stainless steel threshold trims fitted on their car, could i have some photo's please. Cheers Wendy

    Wanted Head Lining

Hi all, My car is currently in the bodyshop for respray. I am now needing an Interior Headlining - in excellent condition. Mine is rather stretched and dirty (yes- from smoking for a few years in the car!!) Also the thick plastic sills that sit on the threshold, I would like both sides, but Drivers side is broken so that especially. Alternatively does anyone know where I might get these or SS replacements perhaps. I am needing both parts within 3 weeks. Thanks for any help Wendy
  11. I forgot about the Classic Car Show at Blenheim, might have to go to that too !!
  12. Anyone going - its at Middle Claydon. MK18 2EZ http://www.activeshows.co.uk/events/germanvsjap2015 If the weather is good, I will be there, in the 350 though with the Corrado in the garage. Happy to meet up if anyone fancies it.
  13. Or...........Miles can we convince you to sell the Corrado whole and buy another that is nearly to your spec ? So yes costing more, but considerably less time required completing the jobs. This way you keep the Corrado love flowing. Nice Ice Violet one for sale on this forum ??
  14. Mine is at 207k, 137k of which are mine over 14 years. Only car and daily user until 2 years ago, but still notching up approx 6k miles per annum. Already thinking I am coming round to 2nd set of Chains & Clutch in my time in the not too distant future. Recently had 2nd set of shocks and springs. In for new paint right now and looking forward to getting her back, seems mighty odd not having a Corrado in the garage to drive.
  15. Ha ha fuzz !!. Actually - being honest, and as I said to Miles, I am not sure he will get round to doing her up, so she will still be in the garage in years to come. Besides I have all the bits I need now - Thank you !!!! ;-) Although........... I could go for spares !!!!
  16. Bump - Anyone else for this ? - its on this Sunday 26th July. Check on the CCGB site for final details.
  17. Jim's Electronic diary is failing, head is falling apart too - Just as we have succeeded in getting Chris Morris's together !!! he he Looks like a good turn out Eric, although I think Chateau Impney Classic Hill Climb was better. During the heavy storms my friend and I were sat in a comfy sofa made of Porsche 944 seats !!! And very comfortable they were too.
  18. Matty, Surely you are already booked onto this ? Fuzz bought the tickets - remember ?
  19. No sorry. I do recall seeing a Classic event on the Blenheim site, but hadn't noted it as I think I have other plans that weekend.I know it looked quite good. Shame you can't make this one too
  20. Oh fantastic !! I think we should then paint them too !! I have coluring pencils and paints !!! lol
  21. ATS online are usually well priced too.
