  1. and you thought you were getting grief about taking junk to the tip in the corrado before you said you had a Q7 that was designed for the job??!!
  2. being fussy about which nipples you have now are you??
  3. cv's definitely, only know one other car with them on and they look great :)
  4. sadly, much as it was the seats that drew me to it, i can't really afford to keep them, so those and the engine are going to a certain forum interior whore :D
  5. i think i'm going to call it a stripper rather than a breaker, sounds more appealing :)
  6. well it was sold with the autobox acknowledged as not being quite perfect, and although it is quite cool to just plant your foot and go, it is easily "confused" and probably in need of a bit of attention! is interesting to drive a car on standard suspension for the first time and realise the ride isn't that much better than on my Koni/H&Rs too.
  7. well, having never got round to starting a members gallery for my existing car, i thought maybe a sneaky one for a new purchase might be in order.. it will be a little short-lived or at least brief with then a long gap as the car's future state is uncertain :norty: but for the moment i have a moonlight blue automatic VR with electric recaros, aircon and headlight washers :camp: which may be making an appearance at stanford tomorrow
  8. sh!t the bed theres a lot of steering correction going on in that porsche!!! shows how ridiculously slowly we were all going :) loving the italians though, always felt that was my spiritual driving home :D
  9. i might have an auto gearbox you could buy soon. i dont know its condition yet but i will find out at the weekend. i would want about £100 for it and apparently it could cost as little as £50 to send to you.
  10. all Corrado VRs are OBD1 (are you going to offer this to Golf owners too?) but they can be "upgraded" to obd2. I know you dont want to give away your secrets but the levels of management control over the engine would be interesting to know compared to either standard Mk4 or OBD2. understand that you dont have all the answers right now though!
  11. sounds very interesting! would ideally want to see a graph of it mapped using your kit versus a graph of an equivalent engine running on its standard management in a standard 24v car to understand any variations in performance though.
  12. 'ere, whats your problem Mod?? work for the council or something do ya??!
  13. lol, exactly - how can you seriously stand there and say that given the paintshop explosion that is currently your wheels?! :D i actually think they would work even better on you car than mine if i'm honest.. and yes, BJV
  14. metallic black was not what i asked for (wanted matt) but when i showed up and they said they'd made a mistake they just looked too good not to have as they were!
  15. I also thought you would be putting it back to standard Chris rather than breaking it? If you took out the conversion, put a 12v back in then maybe the sum of those two things sold might be a bit more than just selling the completed conversion on its own?
  16. to be fair i was really looking forward to seeing it being done (and you promised it for edition remember?!) - i was hoping you'd at least finish it before losing interest so i could buy it on the cheap all finished ;) would you fit in a Z3M?!
  17. :camp: surely it would have been better to think that before ripping the guts out of your car 3 weeks ago?!!
  18. if you want them, here they are... :)
  19. Typically I cover around 12,000-15,000 miles per year but in 2007 it was off the road for 5 months and in 2008 it was off the road for almost 4 months while it was having engine stuff done to it. My point was that this is a high maintenance tyre. You have to keep a careful eye on the the tread depth of R888's continuously - sometimes even after just a single bit of "sprited" driving. They also wear faster in the summer due to the warmer tarmac. After three years I'm just starting to tire (pun intended) of it all. With some T1-R's I would sacrifice the extreme performance of the R888 but it would be nice just to put some boots on it & largely forget about them for 6-10 months! You'll realise what I mean if you start using the R888s :) yep, got you. thats really why i'm having them on a second set of wheels too like CTW just in case of emergencies but cheers, I'll pay attention to it!
  20. how many miles do you do a year john?
  21. i think the 2 names that people would be fairly comfortable recommending are PSI Tuning and Stealth (yes, thats Vince).
