The series 2 Exige has a removable roof panel unlike the fixed one in the series 1, definitely prefer the looks and more hardcore nature of the Exige, even more desirable in series 1 guise

Great thread on Edition 38. Awesome piece of work and well worth the read http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.p ... opic=69918

Sounds like a nsasty one but you're right to be pragmatic about it - as you no one else involved and no one hurt - sounds like another Corrado has gone to the scrapyard in the sky :(

Clayed my car today for the first time - couldn't believe how much crap came off it, finish is now glass smooth. As a test I put an empty glass on the roof and it just started sliding off, the car was on level ground. Did all bodywork, bumpers, wheels and glass in about two hours. Incredibly simple and definitely worth doing. Used Sonus grey clay but going to keep on top of it with regular going over with Sonus green clay.

Wifes ex-husband had a VX220 Turbo with Ohlins suspension and a re-map to about 245-250bhp that I drove a few times. All of your comments but a fair bit more shove. Tried it when it was on original suspension and it was a bit soft but the Ohlins transformed it.

I'm also thinking Borbet A's with a polished lip and possibly an anthracite centre - Nugget Yellow seems to be a tricky colour to match with wheels

Off out now - a ZO6 has just pulled up outside...

Awesome, awesome car - mate bought it in preference to an Aston V8 Vantage, faster, better equipped, rarer, better handling and a fair bit cheaper. Crap build quality but who cares when you have a 7 litre dry sumped V8 to play with, looks and exhaust note to die for and stupidly low running costs (excluding depreciation and fuel of course). Suprisingly small, about same size as a 997 I reckon. If anything spoils it its the fact that the chassis is clearly struggling to cope with the power, the engineers have clearly set it up to be great on a track as comfort is not that great - sacrifice I would be prepared to make though Sorry no photos, friend had to shoot off rather suddenly so didn't get the chance -
I'd probably go down to 16's from 17's if I could find some wheels that I like and I could afford - probably the best compromise between looks and handling balance - having said that 16" tyres tend to be more expensive than the equivalent 17's

...friend has just acquired one of these without telling me Absolutely stunning with an unbelievable noise. Apparently now pushing out just over 550BHP after a re-map and a "sports" exhaust. Off out to play

I found the Alcon 4 pots I had on my Racing Puma were awesome, they were crap when cold though and squealed like hell, Ford recommended that they were rebuilt every 12 months - not cheap at £300 a go

Problem with virtually all concept cars is that only certain elements ever reach reality in a production car and even then they're usually watered down. Only Alfa with the 8C Compezione, Chrysler and GM seem to have the bottle to take concept cars and make them production reality

There was a real outcry about 12 months ago when BMW more than doubled the cost of extended warranties on all M series cars, seem to remember a typical 1 year warranty on an M3 is now about 2k - probably tells you a lot about running costs, most warranty providers work on a 90% loss ratio (ie on a 2k warranty they would expect to pay out about 1.8k).

Have I won then

Much rather have an RS4 for the money or two TVR Cerbera's
-
Base price - £50,625 - £50 cheaper than an RS4. Seems very expensive to me

Herisites - yes it is Onyx and Concourse wax - like them both but the Zymol smells better. Going to try the Chemical Guys Ltd Edt 50/50 wax at the weekend but really looking forward to getting my hands on the Zaino Z2 Pro / Z5 Pro stuff
-
Its organised now, threw out tons of stuff that I haven't used for ages - spent the last few months building up a stock of decent quality stuff, looking forward to getting my Zaino paint treatment in the next couple of weeks, supposed to give a finsih comparable to Zymol Vintage wax but lasts at least six months
-
....was rather shocked at how much stuff I have acquired, better start using it now
-
Decided it was time for a real deap clean of the entire car - shocked at how dirty it really is after I started work. Going to be a long job but determined to do it properly. Started to use Chemical Guys Diamond Cut 2000 on all paintwork so I know I'm starting with a decent base. After 3 hours I'd done the bonnet, passenger side and both front door shuts and tailgate shut - even going to the trouble of taking out the lights to make sure that as much as possible is cleaned. My Zaino treatment is turning up early May so want to have it ready by then.

PLEASE read if you're in the process of selling a car Changes in the law now mean that you are held legally responsible for any illegal activity (including it not being taxed or declared SORN) involving a car that you have previously owned unless you can prove that you sent the V5 to the DVLA. The DVLA will, within 14 days of receipt of your V5 send you a letter confirming receipt of the document, if you do not receive this then YOU continue to be legally responsible for the car. Only found this out due to being hit with an £80 fine due to my old G60 being sold to Eire, obvioulsy it wasn't retaxed when it expired in the UK and I was held responsible as the DVLA never apparently received the V5 advising of change of owner. Fortunately I have appealed and won (even got an apology in writing) - but it took several letters and numerous phonecalls to sort out. Put simply, if you do not get a letter within two weeks of sending your V5 to them advising of a change of owner then get on the phone to them otherwise you could find yourself being fined or worse, in court.

Brand new RR Phantom convertible with the roof down in mid-Wales this morning. Absolutely massive - looked a lot bigger than the saloon even though I know it's not, but absolutely stunning too. Didn't even know they were on sale in the UK yet....looked far too immaculate to be a development car
-
Lovely looking car, could not be misaken for a regular coupe - whereas the new 3 series coupe is a stunning car I don't think the new M3 looks different enough. Only problem with this car (and many others) is that they're so damned capable and refined that you have no sense of drama. Good friend of mine got rid of his Schnitzer M3 after 6 months because it was TOO competent - a problem I'd happily live with
-
Cheers all, could probably wangle a discount at a Seat site through my contacts but rather just buy the set thats been offered to me.

...is this a worthwhile upgrade for a G60. Got the chance of a brand new set up, calipers, carriers, discs and pads for less than £400.
