Hi duke, Was indeed a fast road one i think its the one they call 950M but dont quote me on that. But i'm sure if you ask they'll know straight away, must say though that the differance is amazing, i really didn't think i'd notice but its quite dramatic :flower:

Oh well shame you moving off again, and got the mount sorted without too much problem and i can not believe the change its made. Well worth the money! And wasn't bullying you to join up again but things are looking good if i may say so myself  Anyway i'll let you know when we next have a local meet! Regards. Kip.

Well cheers for that matey, always nice to hear a second opinion :D And talking of CCGB, why dont you consider rejoining? the club now has an excellent committee who are very keen to impress and move the club forward. For the record i've just been voted in as chairman and i'm still the region host for yorkshire so maybe could meet up for a natter with a few others sometime? Cheers! Kip.

Did mine a long time ago with loads of gunk in a spray bottle and an auto glm wheel brush, get the engine hot mask of all electrical areas etc and also pays to stuff plastic bags into the spark plug holes. Spray all over agitate for ages until you get bored then rinsed with a kettle. :D It didn't all come off at once but over a short period it soon flaked off. Enjoy! Lol! See it and you at stanford if its back together or i'll be in my other C, Wheeeee!

Hi tonedef, Yes i have the article in question but feel its a little vague in some areas. What happens with the bottom of the mount? does it just sit into the top of the cross member then hold in place with the huge washer and weedy looking nut from underneath? I must admit i have serious reservations regarding this nut as i sell them at the cycle shop where i work and theyre fairly easy to strip the thread on to say the least, let alone hold a vr6 engine down when its going some.

Is there a how to fit the above post somewhere on the forum? i've had a search but to no avail. I have the old one out which was an utter pain but i'd like confirmation on fitting the new one, i'm sure its ok but it just doesn't look anything like the old one. Do you not need to refit the cover plate with the 3 bolts back on with this mount? Any advice chaps and chapesses? :(
-
Hi chaps, well the starter motor is sorted, Thanks for the tip RB but i didn't need to use the shim or cut the old one out as the new one was a little different. I got it from a main dealer total cost inc vat £148. And it looks the same apart from the spline is a bit smaller and the housing around the bearing is more encased. Took about 4 hours to do but i completly took all the front end off at the same time to give it a fettle, should also help to get the front mount out later in the week too :D Thanks all. Kip.

well you guys never fail so ta very much i'll be looking at the starter tomorow so will let you know how it goes. Thanks again. Kip.

Hi goldie, No it doesn't stick in just sounds awfull after its fired up, I'm thinking it a worn bearing as i have to replace lots on cycle wheels at work and you get all sorts of noise if you road test a bike first then tap a couple of new ones in and its as quiet as a mouse :) Let you know a bout the moun too but may be a week or so. Kip.

Hi all, Well as it says, i have a noise when the starter turns over the engine on my vr6. It always fires no probs but then i get a grinding type sound could it be a worn bearing? so wondered if it was possible to take out and clean or could it need replacement? Any tips on doing so would be good as i've had a little search but couldn't really find anything. Also i need to replace the front mount too, i have a vibra technics one which i'm sure i'll manage but any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks! Kip.

Well cheers for the nice comments again guys! And pretty pleased with the article too! hope you manage to get hold of a copy jim
-
Oh just for the record theres also a forum for peoples comments on the classiccars website. although there isnt anything on about it yet. Kip.
-
Well did manage to get a couple of copies but was pretty hard to find and just been to smiths at meadow hell to see if they had any which they only had one copy so either its not a very poular mag or a coach load of corrado nutters have bought all the stock! So maybe worth ordering a copy if you really want one! I have to say that i'm rather pleased with what they have to say about the c without being biassed of course :D Kip.
-
Hi jim, yeah to be fair it does always seem to come up trumps with the i like it squad, whichever model you have. Well mav regards throwing it in the bin i really wouldnt! lol! I used to have a 1.8 16v and i,ll tell you now it was a cracking car and dare i say it but it handled much better than my VR6. kip
-
Hello folks! Well just in case anyone is interested the feature i was talking about last month. Its due to go out on the first of december so keep an eye out for it. Just hope they do the corrado the justice that it deserves. :? Kip.
-
Oh chaps you really are too kind. Thanks awfully for your very nice comments, its very much appreciated. And as davestorm says, it was on the men and motors top 100, number 76 if i remember right! And i'll let you know if i hear anything from the magazine re a date its out. And can send a copy to dresden no probs! Regards to all. Kip.
-
Well thanks for the comment mav, But it really did look pants at e38, didn't wash it all wk end, couldn't really be bothered after such a long season but will no doubt catch you at another event. :) Kip.
-
Lol! cheers! :D Really cant wait to see the magazine to be honest.
-
Well as the title suggests, On mon the 9th oct me and my C did a photo shoot for classic cars magazine, the shoot basically looked at the pros and cons with both the corrado and the porsche Not really a whats best kinda battle more like a which model you may purchase. No contest really! Lol! The article will probably be used within the next few months so keep an eye out! And i'd just like to say a huge thank you to steve mac for the opportunity of this feature :notworthy: So i guess the least i can do is a little article for the ccgb sprinter magazine in return to let you know more about the day rather than the finished product Regards to everyone! Kip.

HI there, Assuming you have the lower shelf off? its the very shiney black one. I removed it from the socket and dipped it into a small amount of gt85 or wd40 for a moment then very carefully pushed it back on and off to clean the contacts but be very carefull with this or breakage could be a nightmare. Hope this at least helps! KIP.

Dont think would do any harm to lube the transponder cable connections though. Had similar with mine a fey years back so just lubed the connections as rw1 said and sorted took me half hour max inc shelf off and replacement too, Good luck! Kip.

As said earlier, remove inner screw near the very front of the door then sort of swivel it out somehow. The piece you're trying to remove has a plastic tube type section which goes right the way from the outside into the inside and thats the piece the screw goes into. :? They cost around £7.50 from the main dealers too.

Am really gutted for you mate, i cant begin to imagine how you feel about this. But i know how i'd feel so Hang in there! :(
