Blue P reg Storm, followed from Maple Lodge until it went under the M25 @ J17. Pretty sure it wasn't someone on here though, the driver looked like she was in her sixties....

Had mine done at the start of the month. Labour £275 (think that was 4.5 hrs I can check later) Clutch kit £113 Clutch Release Fork £15 (worth doing if it hasn't been done before) So a touch over £470 with the VAT. That was with the cheaper of 2 options he gave me for the clutch, VW one would of been approx £100 more. It took longer than 4.5 hours to do as he had a bit of a mare getting everything apart by all accounts, but he quite nicely charged as quoted, which has worked in his favour as he'll be doing the MOT next month!

Had a bit of a convoy with a green L reg valver along the Hogs Back and A3 this morning.

http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=66169&hilit=dvla+corrado This is the thread showing the numbers in the DVLA database, is almost a year old so we could revise those figures down by now....

Mines got the 2 random fuses above the relays as well, I'd be interested in finding out what they do! Reggit: If its the same as my 95 valver, that blue thingy sitting above relay 18 is roughly where these 2 fuses sit, with the wiring disapearing off somewhere, I thought they may be for an alarm or something.

dunno, but now you mention it I know a bloke who knows a bloke who will.

Well, totally refused to start this morning, tried with the blue plug on and off, union cracked and not. Agree with what you're saying David, from the reading I did last night it seems that the K Jet can be a bit tempremental when things are not right. Do you have any info on injector pressures and spray patterns or pressures at the various points in the system? First time I've used this garage, the one I used to use closed, but was recommended by a guy I work with, who's used him for several years. But he is more of a Mercedes specialist. He did check the pressure at the pump and going into the metering unit and all the supply voltages, so it seems that the fuel is getting to the metering unit but having trouble getting out the other side, so maybe a dodgy valve. If, as Jim suggested, the 5th injector is leaking would that cause a vacum lock in the pipe between it and the metering unit? I've taken a punt on the new metering head so when that arrives I'll strip it all down and see what happens, you never know, always handy to have a few spares anyway. Problem is moved house last week so a bit skint at the mo! Farnham's only down the road so I'll be giving The Phirm a call if I don't get any results

Cheers, I'll try the blue plug in the morning and report back then!

Sorry forgot to put that! Fuel pressure is there, garage checked that as well. Had the main pump & filter changed about 4 months ago, along with the immobiliser unit and ECU. So pretty sure that all should be ok there. From cranking it with the union cracked it does seem to take a while for the fuel to get to the metering unit, must admit my first thought was the in tank pump packing up. Fault came on really quickly as well, parked up one night running fine, next morning buggered. Anyone know how the metering head works or point me in the right direction for some info? I'm thinking that if the metal block on the airbox that feeds the injectors has valves inside it it may be sticking or something? ETA: Found this K-Jet quite an interesting read if you're into that type of thing....

Having a problem with my valver, I've tried the search but can't seem to find anything! When trying to start, first turn of the key she will fire but then conk out without running. After that cranking it over for ages (2-3 mins) will eventually get her running, and runs fine once she is going. So went into the garage, they've checked the fuel pressure, cleaned the metering head and checked all the supply voltages to no avail. His suggested solution is replacing the whole metering unit - basically everything on top of the airbox. Which seems a bit extreme and costly! He's also found a sort of work around. Cracking open the union for the 5th injector, turning it over until fuel gushes out and tightening it up again seems to work. Not ideal, spraying petrol all over the place doesn't appeal long term, and it stinks for a couple of miles afterwards! Anyone else experienced this? There is a metering head in the for sale on here, but it's only the metal block that the fuel pipes run from, would it be worth fitting this part just to see if it sorts it?

Last weekend Guildford to Bournemouth and back twice, 320 ish miles, not a single one. I do see one every day though, G reg green valver belonging to the guy who runs the sandwich shop at the end of the road the office is on, don't think he's on here though.

Connectors looked OK when I swapped out the motor, but I think I'll give them a clean anyway, and clean all the contacts for the stalk. Failing that I suppose a day with the multi meter and lots of swearing at the loom might find something! On another note, can highly recommend Rain X, something strangely hypnotic about watching the beads of water disappear off the windscreen, didn't even need the wipers this morning and its chucking it down here

Hi all. Having a problem with my windscreen wipers, they are only working on the fastest setting. I've changed the relay, wiper/MFA stalk and the wiper motor, none of which has made any difference. So, really looking for suggestions on where to look next?

Is your Corrado the most unreliable car you've ever owned?
bigtunes replied to Jay2's topic in General Car Chat
Mine is finally running perfectly after having spent about 3 of the last 7 months in the garage,(new immobiliser unit, ECU, Fuel pump and filter) Starter motor went a few months ago as well but did that myself. Was really thinking about changing it for something more reliable. I've done two 160 mile round trips in the last 4 days I've got a big grin on my face now, I've totally fallen in love with it again, luckily it hasn't rained though as the wipers only work on max speed! Not the relay, so got some new stalks on the way. Oh and the windscreen leaks but I'll get that sorted on the insurance. -
Have I missed some New Rules on Motorway Driving?
bigtunes replied to Jay2's topic in General Car Chat
That really annoys me as well. Its an indication that you want to make a maneuver not something that gives you the right to do what you want! -
Looks like a big Polo Coupe!

Must be one of those rare karman interiors you keep seeing on ebay.... :cuckoo:

Land Rover 101 Ambulance: Back off and on ground Pg3
bigtunes replied to Jim Bowen's topic in Members Gallery
Ended up in the back of the ambulance version a couple of times, never got to drive on though! Been thinking of buying one myself and buggering off in it, almost got the funds together now so starting to look. You may have already found it but this is quite a useful site: 1 Tonne F.C -
Of course you could always get a mate to report it before you put your claim in....

http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/search?query=corrado Never existed apparently!

It's a left hooker, so its the passenger holding the ticket. Good old Sun, always so accurate....

Some guy flogs the body shells on ebay, they fit a certain sized Tamiya chassis, looks like it could one of them. Few of the guys on here have them, whole thread here: R/C Corrados Edit: Actually on closer inspection what I thought was an aerial sticking out the back is the edge of a disc its sitting on! so probably not a R/C Model!

Check the windscreen surround (big black rubber thing!) mine wasn't fitted properly and I was getting water in the foot wells and rather worryingly on the fuse box!
-
I had this for a while and tried loads of things to fix it but with no success. Then my ignition switch failed, fitted new one from the stealers and cured that at the same time. Not sure why though!

I've a full Miltek and Sports Cat on my Valver and and am quite happy with it. Not too loud and burbles quite nicely. Did have to have it re-fitted and the front pipe trimmed to get it to fit properly, but that was my own fault for using my local garage and not telling him how to do it. (He's blinding on Citroen's though  )
