Yeah they do return. But my previous FK set the strut was harder to push in by hand, though not impossible. This set was easier to push in but still took a some effort. Can you buy shockers in pairs - front OR back?

When my ignition switch was on its way out i turned the key and the dash lights came on. But the car wouldnt even attempt to turn over. To get the switch out its a pain in the a$$ - getting to the screw is awkward and requires you to get your head under the steering column cowling to see it and you have to bend a small screw driver to get to it. In the end i, as careful as i could, broke the old switch with a hammer and then cable tied the new switch in place - because at some point in the future will have to do this job again.

Changing the ignition switch would be a good idea mate. This give intermitent starting issues, its no more the £20 from Volkswagon. This is a common fault.

Maybe i was talking b0ll0x read this thread mate, esp AndyT's post 4th from bottom viewtopic.php?f=15&t=5248&hilit=1+diagnostic+plugs&start=15 States what the 2 pin white connector is for - SD output apparently. But im not sure if this applies to the 1.8 16v it does for the G60. Im suprised no one has come along and corrected what i said.

Someone could correct me on this, but isnt it only the cars with ABS that had 2 ports? Did you 1.8 have ABS?

3CM if you look at the throttle body there is a yellow and red disc shaped piece. If you were to blip the throttle usign the throttle body lever instead of the throttle pedal, its next to that! :D hope that makes sense.

just a quick question. I bought a 2nd hand set of H&R springs and shocks from here. Fitted them last weekend. However, i noticed on the front shocks that i was able to push the strut in by hand. It does take a bit of force to push it in, but should i be able to push the strut in at all, by hand? Are the struts knackered? Thanks Gaz

b0ll0x :lol: i did write a response last night, but with the server playing up it cant have submitted the message. As Neil said it wont line up and i think the slam panels are different so the pins on the bonnet wont line up correctly with the holes in the slam panel. It will close but the panel gaps will not be right - from experience.

Me too and i've thought before about modding the switch. Cant the switch me modded as opposed to the wiring. Surely its just something in the rear fog switch that presses the front fog switch in also.

nah the 2.0 8v isnt disappointing. Ok its not as powerful as the others especially the VR and G60. But its not slow. I loved my old 8v and i used to get pretty good MPG out of it.

Sorry to thread jack 2CM, but on the subject of additives - Is ZX1 metal treatment worth using? My dad swears by it and ive used it before in the passed but never noticed much difference in running and not kept hold of the car long enough to notice any difference with the running of the engine e.g. wear.

Im sure i have 205/45 on my 15" speedlines, is that ok?

Mr Vag, i owe you pint fella! :D Went to Bapp in Castleford and they had a big bag of M12 1.25 pitch (for future reference to anyone) nuts. Charged me £2 for 6, cant complain at that. Going to ring Larkspeed tomorrow and tell them not to bother ordering me them (if they ever have attempted to order them for me )
