Thanks for clarifying that for me. I did originally spray it with VHT paint but it was rubbish and has flaked like fook!!!! How much heat wrap will i need approx for a 6 branch? Been speaking to a bloke who sells the stuff http://www.exhaustwrapshop.com he was saying he wouldnt think id would have enough with 50ft of wrap for a 6 branch. :shocked: surely 50ft of the stuff would be ok for a 6 branch with a half inch over lap?! Is he just trying to up the sale, or WILL i need more then 50ft!?

Can anyone give advise on the above?

Is it a no no, using HIDs on standard lights?

Sorry for the thread resurrection. After having to wait a number of months until i could manage to get my manifold wrapped,I was just about to order some from the net and came across this thread on pistonheads - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topi ... 85685&i=20 In a nutshell they are saying on the thread that wrapping your manifold with will, over time, make the metal brittle and crack, Also that wrapping the exhaust is a fire hazard. Is there truth in any of this and should i wrap the manifold in fibre glass wrap or not? :confused:

I've had a soft spot for the new fiat 500 though i would never buy one, but the abrath flavour was spectacular! I'd have to say the Corvette performance wise, out of the three yank-mobiles. But the dodge for being oldskool.

Ahhh.... its was 'vetting' not a total lock down on Mclaren developing. Cheers That all said you'd be surprised how poor the vetting for Ferrari IP actually was. I mean there was red paint on the MacLaren that they didn't even spot :D if they can't even catch MacLaren blatantly plagiarising like that then the sport has no hope at all! Don't even get me started on the copycat "Finnish driver" trick either - clearly a copy of the Ferrari strategy if you ask me, haha :lol: The whole field should be driving Ferraris thats the only fair way.

What's gone on is that your assumption was incorrect. As part of the FIA's penalty against MacLaren in 2007 they reserved the right to 'vet' MacLaren's designs for it's 2008 car to ensure that no obvious Ferrari IP or designs found thier way onto the car. No infringments of that kind were found (despite Ferrari protesting the presence of "Ferrari" items like wheels, an engine and a wheel to steer it with) and that's why you heard nothing more about it. Exactly, i think they just feel threatened by him because he's more talented and he's a winning racer in his first 2 seasons. In regards to the Mclarens car - It was this year they werent allowed to develop the car wasnt it, but i didnt hear anything about that all season and they even looked to have developed it. Whats gone on there?

I agree, its not the same thing. Drivers at the moment seem to use them only to look 'cool' (!!) - mostly high end executive cars.

Its not as high as 40 on the fronts.
