Replaced PCV and FPR on VR6. What a difference.
Critical_Mass replied to aclwalker's topic in Engine Bay
So going by what boost has said above, it WOULD matter if the PCV was missing all together. My 93 VR didnt come with one, I think others also have it missing. If i fitted one, would it make a difference? -
Its a mutal relationship. You fix your cars problems and in return you are rewarded when you drive it :D

Anyone else laying the Rado up for the winter?
Critical_Mass replied to Sonicriot13's topic in General Car Chat
very good point i forgot to mention. Ensure the handbrake is off. Is there any bad side affects with leaving an engine sat for a long period. Just had a vege engine fitted not long ago and car will be off the road for a good 10 months from now. I do as you do kip and try to start it at least once a month; I just dont want any bad side affects resulting from it being stood for that long. -
b0ll0x to that  Fair result today :D Come on the last race!

Critical_Mass replied to Sonicriot13's topic in General Car Chat
Id leave it til its coming up to getting it back out or when it IS back out. I've laid mine up for a bit maybe about a year, its already been off the road for 2 months. Missing it already :( -
like i said...

I thought as much :D I dont put anything else but Vpower in, yes sure it costs more but i find it lasts a little longer. Maybe im imagining it i dunno....
-
Vpower you mean? VMAX make coilovers

Piston rings? Oil would be thicker from start up so may not get passed the rings. Then when the oil is up to temp its viscosity is increased and can now pass the rings? Though, the stem valve seals being shot would explain the smoke on over run.. not the piston rings.
-
Can you expand on that? I thought it would be caused by the piston rings

tbh i've found the none corrado related ones funnier then the corrado related ones   love the pikachu one :D The camel toe one is just wrong!

VRs do idle at around 600 rpm. As for stalling at junctions use the search mate, its been covered loooads of times. ;)

The prices wont last..... :ignore:

Its different, and nicely done. I like it!

I only have this problem you're having. The scrolls dont stop the air coming through nor allow more air coming through. However the dial to change the direction of air on my heater controls are knackered so maybe thats why. Do your heater controls work ok?
-
TBH i think its your best option though mate, especially if you dont want to break the bank.
-
Get a laser alignment check done. That will tell you for sure if the rea axle is bent. I still need to get mine done cos i also have wear on the inside of one tyre. From what i've read they space straightens the wheel back up..
-
As Dr_mat said its steam not smoke and thats normal. How far is it to work for you? Take it for a LONG run sometime and see if it goes.

heh a rim issue (oor eerr) over the weekend myself. Car is off the road and over the 6 weeks its been off so far the front tyre went flat. Went to pump it up tomorrow with a cheap electric pump and air was escaping from the edge of the rim as fast as it was going in  Had to get another elec pump that pumped air in faster then it was escaping - all was well once it had been inflated a bit to seal the rim.

i dont think ill catch up but im reletively happy with 7th of 21 runners

Can you give us more info mate, which flavour of car? Does it happen any other time?
-
Doesnt mean there's any plan to paint it though. But it would look better painted.

Cheers! Where can you buy shocks without springs? Or is it a case of buying a set of shocks and springs, then buying ANOTHER set of springs? Gaz
-
So can someone recommend some good shock spring combinations for a VR?
-
You cant really pay TOO much attention to practice though, it can be slightly false alot of the time. Looking forward to this race, it could decide the championship.
