  1. Ive recently fitted a SNS chip and 68 mm pulley on my G60 however the performance improvement is some what disappointing. I was told by a few on the forum id be grinning like a cheshire cat once they are fitted. Ive spoken to someone on here and told me the chip i bought, which was purchased from someone on the forum (but not blaming them for the disappoinment) told me it was an early chip. Would buying a later chip improve the performance. Some one please help!!!! Any ideas id be grateful? One last think if the when the black sensor is unplugged and no change in engine whilst idling does this indicate a fault, is so what and whats the solution? Cheers guys!!!
  2. I blew my charger about 4 months ago about 4 weeks after i got it. Well i say it was me, jabba said it was 2 seals which had disintigrated and were going to blow inevitably. NOW i dare not push it too hard im just too PARANOID :shock: about blowing it again. Just had a chip and a pulley fitted and i dont see too much improvement. Apparently though the chip is an early type chip ill have to see about getting a newer one.
  3. ah right cheers. So its the MAF that could possibly causing the jerking of my car? What pic you saying have a look at? Nice corrado mate. Wanted a silver one myself. Ended up getting a inca blue G60.
  4. I think i maybe confusing MFA with MAF, whats the MAF. I dont know anyone else with a corrado so cant really lend one of someone. So youre saying the jerking could be the MAF not the MFA? where is the MAF found?

  6. Yeah i noticed that earth wire. Before i spotted it i wondered why the radio was so bad. Even if i was playing a CD there would be interferance which increased with the engine speed. SO if i get the wire reconnected do you think it would sort the interferance out
  7. You say it made your car jerk????? That could be the answer to my problem. My MFA resets itself everytime ignition is turned off (But everything does work). Check fuses and theyre all fine. My G60 jsut started jerking one day. more noticable in traffic in 2nd gear, the car will start jerking but will go once clutch is down (ive ruled out a clutch problem, but it COULD still be that but dont know what exactly). Also if im traveling at a constant speed of 40mph i can feel the car jerking very slightly. Idle is terrible too. Could these symptoms suggest MFA malfunction? or something else?
  8. Yeah goign through tunnels is fantastic. i like pulling up along side a sh!tty saxo or a corsa with rude boys in them and them hearing the engine. MUST put them to shame. As for the pipe, think mine must have gone too, theres just a rectangular hole with rounded off corners. 16V setup, i havent seen one either. seen a 2.0 8v a G60 and a VR6
  9. so what is this about a tube going into the airbox (not supercharger inlet or vaccum tubes)
  10. theres a hole in the bottom part at the front that allows air to come in and the tube that feeds the supercharger. My 2.0litre C had vaccum tubes going from the bottom half to the top half but my G60 doesnt have them

  12. yeah had mine rebuilt in march not long after i got the car. so give it another 50K then itll need another rebuild, expensive thing to do as well. Tone down the noise of the G-lader, i love that noise, i want it louder. Going to get those holes put into the air box over the weekend.
  13. nah mate, dont bother telling the insurance, theres no way they'll find out. The only way they can know is if the, if you crash, the garage you send it to to get fixed notice. theres no way they'll no a different sized pulley and they wont do diagnostics. Stage 4 ey, mines still stage 2 g-lader. with an SNS chip and a 68mm pulley it'll bunk it upto 190bhp. so dread to thinl what the stage 4 charger will do ontop of a pulley. Do you need a new chip when youve got a stage 4 or just a pulley with the stage 4?

  15. Yeah i checked it and it does have a hole in the front (my bad) never noticed it before. I took the cone filter off and put the standard one back on. Im going to get a KN filter at some point but just left the one i got with it on for now. I tell you what with the standard one back on the car doesnt half sound alot more beefier, sounded tiny and cr@p with the cone filter on, i see what you mean about the louder charger, Fecking FANTASTIC!!!!! why did i bother with the cone filter to start with (shrug). Getting the 68mm pulley fitted next week too. Already got the chip in, but its running rich going by the black shit on the exhaust tail.
  16. yeah mate completely appreciated. The bottom part of my airbox though is sealed no tubes running into it at all!!! and the top OBVIOUSLY only has the one which feeds the filtered air to the supercharger. SO if you looking at the air box from the front of the car, you recommend that i drill some holes at the front of it and down the left side (wing side), which should draw cooler air in. I get what you mean by the cone filter and the heat shield and thought the exact same thing myself. Ill probably put my standard air box back on then. With a green or KN panel filter. Any chance you can send me some pics of what you mean by the holes in the box etc, As the carbon canister is to the back of the air box next to the suspension strut. Cheers matey :infinity:

  18. Can anyone tell me how the air gets into the box through the filter into the g-lader. I dont know about anyone elses, but the bottom part of the box has no holes in it and no tubes running to it so how is the air getting into the box and through the filter. I used to have a 2.0 8v and the bottom part of its air box had a tube running into it and had a "valve" which im guessing air entered into the box via. I currently have a cone filter on but no heat shield but am considering to replace the standard air box. Good idea or should i stick with the cone??? Does not having a heat shield effect the efficiency of the air cone at all am i recommended to get a heat shield and if so where from? Cheers :lol:
  19. I have a squeaking noise on my G60. if you stab the throttle when stationary theres a horrible squeaking noise until the revs fall. Or when im driving and i change gear it'll squeak then too. If i keep the revs down and i change gear it wont squeak. Does this sound like the tensioner pulley, i have been told by my regular mechanic that the bear is shot in it. Any ideas?

  21. aye well it was an accident breaking it and no choice but to buy it from VW unless you can suggest where i can get it from? is it easy t replace do you know?

  23. cheers for that Gavin. I see what you mean, only thing is youd have to take it off to compress it. I eventually got it back on last night using brute force. But as i was putting the nut back on the thread broke. I must have weakened it or something. going to have to replace that nut and bolt.
  24. yeah dont worry i got a chip and a pulley. can you send me a pic of the jubilee clips joined together round. is that too much to ask? just cant quite figure out the concept of the clips... DOH!
