  1. my VR used to ALWAYS sit at 90 when moving, it would rise in traffic. Now since changing the rad and flushing the coolant, it will sit at 80 rise in traffic but then drop again. Im certain it should sit at 90 when moving and rise in traffic to the point where the fans will come on, allowing it to drop to 90~ again. If the stat is stuck open the water will take longer to heat up as the water is passing through the rad. It will use more fuel until up to temp and no longer in cold start mode.
  2. they always are... good luck mate, hope the next car brings you as much happiness.
  3. Wondered the same thing... will be interesting to find out what it was about.
  4. Cheers toohot. I'll give AF a ring. ---------- Post added at 04:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:04 PM ---------- Flux i mean
  5. Problem with that company is they ask require yiu to be over 30 car be over 20 and no mods. Im 29 with 18 year old car that has modal. though no mods that up the performance ---------- Post added at 01:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:02 PM ---------- I know you dont accumulate NCB on classic car insurance but does classic insurance use NCB you've accrued?
  6. Can anyone give me an idea as to why classic car insurance is so expensive. Im getting quotes of around £500, that is for 6000 miles per year max. COuld the mileage be why?
  7. bump ---------- Post added at 06:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:20 PM ---------- Infact possible change of plan. Going to get the Corrado put onto a classic car policy and use another car for the rest of the year. so will maybe use the COrrado for about 6 months and another car for the other 6 months. So Classic car insurance companies...?
  8. I have this on the Autowatch alarm i got fitted. Not sure how its wired in exactly, but when i try starting the car without first pressing the button the car will turn over, but not start. So i think its the fuel thats been isolated. Definately recommend getting one of this installed as it does add peace of mind, knowing that even with the keys taken the car cannot be started. Though i realise there's other ways to get the car away, like lifting it onto a truck, but its a Corrado not a Ferrari so doubtful people will go to that lengths to take a Corrado.
  9. That looks like an ECU of some sort.
  10. Hi all, Well today i discovered the passenger side sill needs some attention. Where the sill meets the front wing has started to rust - the stone chip paint has cracked and falled away at some point and the underneath is exposed. Can anyone tell me what is used on the sills, is it waxoyl or something else and can this they be sorted by stripping back the whole or part of the sill, reapplying the waxoyl like stuff then repainting. Can this be done with out having to repaint the doors or rear or front wings?
  11. My insurer for the Corrado is Greenlight - who wont insure anything other than performance cars. I dont think a 1.9 diesel would be a performance car
  12. Yeah i found that with ecar. They wanted £500~ and funnily enough changing it from comp to TPFT and even TP it went up!!!
  13. Hi all, Looking at getting a second car for the winter months. My girlfriends grandad has a volvo 440 1.9 diesel sat in the garage not doing anything. I can use it for the winter so been looking at temp car insurance. 3 months minimum is required really. Any recommendation on companies who can provide this. I've looked on ecar, so looking at other companies. Cheers Gaz
  14. Never seen the second vid before. Thanks for posting it. THough he does say the PG engine was unreliable, which is BS as they're bullet proof, i think he meant the charger could be unreliable and then it would generally be when the charger hasnt been serviced.
  15. Ah ok that makes sense then. It Avivas policy to say no so everyone doesnt drive everyone elses car third party - however that car must be covered fulyl comp anyway so not sure completely understand the logic of that
  16. That cant be right.. no where in my policy does it say for emergency use only. It just states that i can drive other cars excluding hire, taxi etc as 3rd party.
  17. I think a more arty pic of the corrado would have been better.
  18. lol. i love Remi. Like the way he chases the cars when they slow down. haha.
  19. The problem i had with the drivers sitting higher was it would then hit the drivers A pillar.
  20. Welcome aboard. There's a buyers guide to look at.
  21. Arms fit straight on. As you say, i had to trim one of the blades where they meet in the middle to stop them fouling on eachother.
  22. Ignore that, found a thread i started a few weeks ago, with the parts numbers posted (i did search before asking)
  23. Hi all, Can anyone give me a definitive answer to what hte part numbers are for the VR track rods and ends. Car is in the garage to get them changed and my mechanic got me a pair after having to find out which were the correct parts. The ones he ended up getting are too short?
  24. Corrado towed and owner arrested for looking "too cool".
  25. x 2 on that. For that sort of cash you may as well go for the high end tyres.
