  1. Fair play if it works. If not, the grille option. ---------- Post added at 10:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:22 PM ---------- Anyone else wondering if ten ton has smashed the window, just a thought considering the lack of reply from the OP
  2. It could be the keys you have arent for that boot lock - just a thought. Yeah dont smash the window break the grille instead. :D
  3. Not sure about the boot, it should open manually using the key. But you can get the bonnet open from the outside, but means wrecking (lucky if you dont) the grille. -Force the grille off - may have to destroy it -Find the bonnet cable - normally its up agains the slam panel and has a black sleeve. -Then pull the cable towards the centre of the car - pull the passenger side towards the drivers side and drivers side towards the passenger side. This should release the bonnet. For future reference the drivers side is reachable from under the car, i had to get the car on ramps once and using a long thin metal rod, i pushed the pin release lever to relase the drivers side. Unfortunately the passenger side isnt. PS - i think the boot lock has to be vertical to open -if thats any help. not sure why yours wont turn. The boot should close when the lock is in the locked position but also the lock should be able to operate with the key even with CL working - mine is.
  4. Yeah i should be grateful really that it wasnt gushing out. BUt was a bit of a mystery when i was losing water but there was no signs of steam or water on the floor. Still only took about 30 mins to remove, refit and bleed the system of air. Job done.
  5. Funny you say cars start acting up when it gets cold and damp. My coilpack is throwing a hissy fit now. Starts fine, but i came to a junction and slipepd the car into second as soon as applied more throttle, the car learched violently and started to misfire a bit then cleared up once id got going a bit. So goign to go buy some spray water repellant to use on the HT leads. Im probably goign to have to replace the coilpack soon though. How much are they new? (assuming they're not obsolete)
  6. I wouldnt worry about surface rust on the discs, it happens to new cars on the forecourts even happens on mine after a rain shower when car has been stood. I was advised not to start the car every so often, if youre storing it for a longer period just leave it and dont start it.
  7. Spray them with red tint. Red on white car looks v nice.
  8. I hear the peanut butter leaves the plastic looking plastic for longer than the back to black - cheaper too! And if you get hungry half way through
  9. ah sorry skim read your post AP. Yeah if it stills works fine by the button then the mechanism will be fine. You fitted a stereo recently?
  10. Open the boot lid and take the black plastic trim off, you'll see the spoiler mechanism. Check to see how freely i moves - there's a manual nob to all you to raise it and retract it manually. (pull it towards you first) It could be that it needs a bit of clean.

    ticking noise

had this with the raceland i fitted. Never improved, got sick of it and returned back to the standard manifold and downpipe. Im much happier now
  12. Dont spray it, get some plastic treatment stuff instead, like back to black. Or something like peanut butter will bring the black back due to the natural oils in it.
  13. yeah, i can vouch for the raceland maniflold, good quality welds, very good value.
  14. Yeah check the rad switch, as VR_owner said its the bottom right of the rad down below the battery. Failing that it could be the fan control box which sits in front of the coolant expansion tank. But check the rad switch first :D
  15. Good point, either way there should be enough room to get some mole grips on it.
  16. Yup x2 on what Supercharged said, happened to me (luckily not in the early hours), turned out water had got into a relay.
  17. Not sure they're standard bolts. All mine are Hex bolts. Has it got an allen key attachement in the middle?
  18. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?31086-Can-you-show-me-Standard-alloy-wheel-options Estorils are on the 2nd post and top picture, the westwoods are the 2nd post bottom picture.
  19. Could it be possible its the window rattling?
  20. Will the car fail for having no CAT heat shield?
  21. THOSE Speedlines are available in 4 stud and 16", but they're not factory alloys. But if we're referring to factory speedlines, which i assume he is as he's on about going back to standard, they were only available in 15" and 5 stud. Plus look slightly different to that.
  22. The speedlines only came on the VRs as they're 5 stud. Check the exhaust as supersprint exhausts are mild steel and only the back boxes are stainless steal. You may have a full supersprint exhaust on without realising it if you're expecting it to be stainless steel. But also depends how OEM you want to go - just the back box or the rest of the piping too. The mild steal is black in colour.
  23. Absolutely ridiculous! Not a good chunk of money towards a set of Samcos - which probably would be a wise decision. If id buy the top hose new, plus the one i bought end of last year. That would be £150~ on 2 hoses. Ive seen samco kits for the VR for £200 +postage.
  24. Can you get them out without taking the clocks out of the shell?
