Valvers dont have that much better MPG. I think they're more or less the same.

I'll check the cap tomorrow, but it was replaced at the same time as the radiator, so wihin the last 4 months. Id be suprised and v pished off if the headgasket has gone as the engine is only 30k miles old. Plus the engine is running fine, no steam, no misfiring, no oil in the water.

Depends on overall condition of the car - body and mechanically. Mileage is merely a number and its how its been looked after during its life. As Floppyman said (sorry i have to laugh every time), it will prob need some sort of repair within a year, so you prob wont make the money back on it anyway. Why not just get the "more powerful model" now?

Hi all, Well out of no where the temp warning like starts flashing. Luckily i wasnt too far from home so kept an eye on the temp and got home. Popped bonnet and the level was very low. I was confused by the is as there has been no wet patches under or near the car. Topped the water up and it took about a pint and half. Went to the shops and got back home. Didnt check the level, but the light wasnt flashing at me. A few hours later, went out in the car again, no water patches. Got a mile down the road and the light started flashing again. I immediately turned home and left the car. I was on the way to the cinema with the girlfriend, plus it was dark. So i havent had chance to check under the bonnet. But i suspect the level will have dropped again. Where the h3ll is the water going??? It must have lost a good pint and a little bit more within a space of about 2-3 hours for the light to come within a mile. Question is where is it going? The first time it came on today i looked under the bonnet and i couldnt see any water leaks nor steam. The rad was changed within the last 4 months.

I used a rubber O seal i bought from B&Q. Seals fine.

Thats look sweet Henny, very tidy too especially how its still at optical brightness regardless if the spoiler is up or down :D Where did you run the wiring? Though i still stand by the opinion of a third brake light on or under the spoiler beign too low. For me it has to be at the top of the rear window imo.

Fortunately not and there's not being any fluid since i noticed that. It could have just been on the tyre from somewhere completely unrelated. But when i noticed it i was parked up, it wasnt all round the tyre like id driven through something, it looked like it had dripped onto the tyre wall that was in contact with the floor. Nowhere above it. But then i noticed the shock was slightly lower on that side - even on flat surface. I may have been mislead by the fluid on the floor and the slightly lower drop on that side could be due to driver and fuel over time.

Cheers for replies guys as this is the last thing i need at the mo. Sorry i forgot to say that i dont think it is fluid from the shock. Firstly it was quite thin grease, more brake fluid consistancy. I looked at the tread and inside wall of the tyre and t here wasnt ANY fluid, just on the outside. Nor was there any on the shock itself. So im thinking the shock is ok. But i have noticed a banging/knocking noise over large bumps but i dont know if thats just the car dropping on hard suspension and possibly just the top mounts. The side in question is also 10-20mm lower than the other side. Could this just be how the shock has settled with it having the weight of the fuel and tank further over to that side? ---------- Post added at 10:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:45 AM ---------- oh and kev the domed cap is on ok and everythign done up correctly.

Ok still having issues with this - Also over a bump like a speed bump or larger bumps there's quite a knock from the rear. It also do not appear to be leaking. But im told shocks dont have to leak to be knackered. The coilovers are less than 3 years old by the way. Ive tried pushing down on the rear corner and it doesnt look like its bouncing... to me anyway. Anyone put my mind at rest, give me any checks to take a look at to confirm if the shocks ok or not. If i DO need a new rear shock anyone any idea how much a new KW v1 coilover will be or how much to get it rebuilt and by whom?
