    Well i decided to nip down to maplin and get some LEDs. Didnt realise they stocked so few! one branch only had 1 3mm 5v and 3 3mm 12v. Had to go to the other branch, which only had 5 3mm 12v and 2 3mm 5v. Didnt get the flat top one, but i'll do as advised and file the top off.

    Id have to check, but i'll probably just go get some 12v ones. I would imagine the resistors were bought WITH the LEDs as im sure it was for a kit car he had when i was young for the dash instruments etc. - though i could use these for the window switches - like you say they need to be 5v.

    Anyone know if the starter can spin without it being engaged with the fly wheel? Sounds like the starter motor is at fault. Maybe worth giving it a tap with a hammer??

    Anyway of telling if an LED is 5v or 12v. like i say i dug my dads soldering iron out and found a load of red LEDs and Resistors, the very old (1988) Maplin receipt doesnt say spec just that they're LEDs. Thinking i could use these, if they're the right ones?

    Keep us informed then Kev, would be interested in of these. I've fallen victim to it and stepped outside to find the lights stuck on.

    Again though, there's only an option to receive an email notification when a message is received - which is handy when im not logged on to the forum. But in the old software, when i was on the forum and i received a message, the next time the page refreshed, like when changing pages, i got a pop up notification saying i had an email. Sorry if im just being picky.

    Thats correct as far as i know Kev. Mine does the same and whilst the car is running. But if you hold the stalk with full beam half on you can get both main and full beam stay on. Would be good if the main stayed on with the full. Not sure why though. I have 2 relay loom btw.

    Really? I've seen the option to turn on the email you get sent when you receive one. But not one where you get a pop up saying '1 new message' when you either first log on or refresh the page. I'll take another look. :D

    See attached pic mate - on the quick reply there's the icons on long the top of the text box. But if you click go advanced, click on manage attachements - there you can add/remove attachments :D

    No not at all mate. Just that Matt said i could have the plastic part for free when i asked for it and i said in return i'll send him a metal one in return. I dont mind sending both back if you need them :D

    Get rid mate, get some Bosch or better still some NGKs. Note the Lupo - misfiring thread of mine, i put champion plugs in (i knew they were ****, but its all i could get at the time), replaced with Bosch not long after and there was a noticable difference. Though i wouldnt say they would cause the car not to start. What engine is it, VR6?

    a little bit of oil on the thread is normal i believe, what did the plugs themselves look right?

    Not sure, used the Toyo TR1s a couple of times, got them on the rears at the mo actually and havent had any issues with them.

    Yeah it maybe the case. A big name goes against the product sometimes. I'll take a look at the Mtecs. How much does your place do the Mtecs for Phil?

    We all know it wont be perfect straight away, like anything there's always teething problems. I like the new format, just taking a little more time to adjust to it. The quote thing, still doesnt work btw hehe ;-) - i quoted your previous message but its not showing the quote you quoted from me. OR is that meant to happen? Thanks for the hard work going into the CF and thanks for putting up with us moaning sods haha!
