-
personal best for me in my mk2 vr6 is 14.6 at santa pod, i've only ever done 5 runs.
-
correct, not been mapped yet,
-
look similar dont they, just yours is higher up the rev range because of your cams??
-
Hello everyone, yes was at Steath weekend before last, i got 196bhp and 214lbft mods are 2.9 ABV engine converted to OBD2, BMC CDA filter, 2.5" Jetex centre box removed and no cat, :D
-
depends what you're bolting it on to surely.... if your bolting it to whatever you unbolted it from then yes its easy, to anything else (ie a corrado) then its not! smart ar*e
-
its not as easy as 'just' bolting it on
-
if your changing leads get new standard leads from VW,
-
the top and bottom rad hoses are different, all the others i think are the same.
-
yup, thats it! was just looking up receipt for mine....beat me to it,
-
thats it...there is a single grey wire coming out of that box, which i believe goes to the diagnostics part of loom, but are there any other wires say from the ecu?
-
no, not to the ecu, there is a grey wire coming out of the transponder box, i was advised this was to the diagnostics plug 2 plugs on the transponder box... first plug is to the ring on the ignition barrel 2nd plug: black wire is ignition live 2 brown wires are earth grey/white goes to engine loom grey wire goes diagnostic plug
-
Currently converting my 2.9 to obd2, however, I'm missing the part of loom for the diagnostics plug, I know 1 wire is from the transponder box (grey wire) I assume there will be a 12v and earth, is there any other wires? I know my OBD1 had 2 wires plus a 12v and earth Cheers Will

i know plenty of people with 300bhp 20vt's using a mk3 16v gearbox, no problems with the box, the engines give up before the boxes! lol
-
which is basically a CDA code mk3 16v box!
-
ah crap... looks like i'll be going back to the ye old 02A tower for time being then...
-
i've been a busy boy today fitting my rebuilt 02A box, i also managed to get hold of an 02J shifter mechanism, however the cables dont fit, i also think i need a new bracket that holds the cables onto the top of the box, am i right? which cables do i need or is there another solution?
-
they're two oil breather pipes....mine are still in the box, as they will discolour very quickly, heck knows why samco include them in the kit, when they dont include the water pipes to the oil cooler....madness!
-
I'd be happy enough fitting a LUK clutch to my VR6!
-
I had a LUK clutch in my old 8v, in fact the LUK clutch lasted longer than the black diamond it replaced!
-
Lovely. Yes they are good, can take about 350lb/ft.... but be warned, paddle clutches can be juddery and grabby. 350lb/ft + upto 40% so in theory could hold upto 490lb/ft, plus mine being fwd (for time being) so will be ok, more critical on 4wd
-
i bought one of these.... ...wonder if its any good?

If you have a spark, which you said you do in your 1st post, and you can smell petrol (i assume you can hear the fuel pump), only other thing it can be is your timing is wrong...like bcstudent said, check compression, if the cam timing is wrong you will have no or low compression. If you think thats right, have you tried turning the dizzy back and forth as someone is cranking the engine over for you?
