Just picked the car up from G-Werks, and what can i say, WOW! Awesome job Darren! She now handles and doesnt throw a tantrum round the corners!!! and she stops!!!
-
Just spoken to darren and yup they are mine!! Apparantly they arent too old! a good clean and could sell them as new - any want a set of silverlines???
-
not from where i was sitting it wasnt!!! its been nausiating for the last month with them!! at leat they are off now!
-
They look a little familiar!!! would those of been mine by chance darren???? Gotta admit i have no idea how old they were, they have only died over the last month or so though!! Andy - you beat me to it!!!
-
think with my couple of days on sunday and monday i could be in the lead with that!!!
-
no offence taken!! ive never been a fan of the place TBH, always seem quite pricey considering the link my dad has with the guy!!! gotta admit the body shop they use did a very good job repairing my MK2! The folks dont seem to understand that id rather have someone with intricate knowledge of the cars work on it!! need to make my own contacts too!!! and besides as far as the charger is concerned its not a case of any garage will do it!!! In fairness most of the problems have been recent, brakes wear etc.. and the suspension only gave up a couple of weeks ago!

bugger, not sure if ill be able to make that weekend!! Ill find out on 4th June if ill be able to make it (dont expect to though!) am up for going if im free! -
PMSL Really didnt think it was right, think my sister have got confused with my wheels rubbing! which yes is due to it being lowered!!! only use the garage as the owner is a mate of my dad so i get really moaned at for not using them (dads not too impressed im getting G-werks to work on it!!) may look for a C friendly gagare around!! Cherwell services was pretty good!!! shame my motor wasnt handelling properly at the time!
-
Just chatting to my mum and sister and said that a few guys here thought my failure was quite impressive! and got the 'its not funny' from my sister (shes 16!!!) but hell i didnt laugh about it i think i could cry!! isnt really a problem as most of the stuff the picked up is being replaced/sorted soon anyway! and also got told that the guy at the garage told them that the brake discs cracked due to the car being lowered by the 'idiot' last owner and they had rubbed on the arches??? WTF??? does this sound a strange comment to anyone? maybe it could be down the suspension being knackered and the whole thing flexing and causing the rubbing? Happy birthday by the way scarlett

lol, trying to forget the head in a fireball moment!!! engine did a have a little bit of play in it, mounts will be sorted next week too! As for the suspension its not exactly fun driving at the moment!! bounces around more that a fat kid on a bouncy castle!! had some major understeer on some of the roundabouts iow_corrado_g60 insisted on taking laps round!! I already knew it wasin a bad way, unfortuanatly my suspensin was still being built in germany last time i spoke to darren!
-
well aware!! we did do it over a drain so it wasnt just left in a puddle (yes there is a drain under there!) (again not very environmentally friendly)
-
triggermyson Im laughing at in now!!!! was a bit worried until we got to chively and everyone got a bit gung ho about it and sorted it!! think its an 'could only happen with a corrado' moment!! Dinkus like ya say dom all wear and tear stuff!! looks worse than it is, 6 points on suspension and 4 on brake issues! shame i didnt get to 20 though!!

Cheers Trig!!! Well ill start at the beginning........ checked my oil before the trip to stealth like any sensible motorist!! but in the process manages to leave the filler cap off, met up with the other guys coming up from the south to see smoke coming from under my bonnet, popped it up to see the engine COVERED in oil! Put a bit more oil in, put the cap on, mopped up a bit and off we went! hit the M3 and i have several noticable clouds of white smoke billowing out the back, we pull over, wipe off more oil and carry on. NEXT my oil pressure sensor keeps going off so we pull over to put MORE oil in (didnt manage to get a reading on the dipstick) we get to chively services to meet zippy and i STILL have oil drops from underneath, pretty random so we give it a check still no reading on dipstick, we find out some monkey had used gaffa tape to stick the plastic top of the dipstick tube on which had come off leaving jsut the tape. Turns out we werent getting an oil reading as the tape was wiping the oil off before it came out the sleeve finally get a reading, and the oil level was almost half way up th e dipstick (OOPS!!) so we decide the 'best' way to sort out the problem was to drain best part of 10 litres of oil out and refill it! dont think we left too much of a mess!!

I knew the suspension was bad so its already booked in with darren to have new coilovers fitted. Engine mount wasnt a suprise after watching the amount of play in the motor on the rollers yesterday!!! For those who witnessed the comedy oil change yesterday an oil leak isnt exactly a suprise!!

The only way to tell would be to crack the unit open. There have been some problems with Jabba rebuilds in the past, you would be best to get G-Werks to give it a once over really. You will need to find out when the charger was rebuilt as they need to be done every 20 - 40K ideally. Depending wher you are theres more than likely someone from the forum who could look at it for you. EDIT - or as suggested by dave_g60 ring up jabba, you should have a certificate of something with the charger with a serial number, or they may be able to tell you from the registration
-
As other guys of said you must let the engine oil warm up to at 80 degrees before using any of the boost. Also you say the charger is a 'Jabba R1 stage 4' its either a R1 or stage4!! you may want to check to find out exaclt what it is!! as for buying advice, the buying guide is a good place to start, then ask about anything your not sure of!

owners is called Darren, username is g-man best to give him a call and have a chat, sure he will see what he can do for you!!

I was the same when i bought my C Had to be a G60, could of got a cheaper 16v but it wouldnt do, but my budget at the time couldnt quite stretch to buying the car and have enough left over to sort out the bits and bobs. im not the first to say and wont be the last but, you would be best off holding out for a while and getting some more funds together before taking the plunge. Running a C can be an expensive hobby but its worth every penny IMHO!
-
i inherited one with the car which was erm... nice!! 'here have a box of bits that were given to me by the last owner' i know what a few bits are but some of them i have no clue about!!! could well have a couple of flux capacitors in there for all i know!!!

-
cheers for the sugesstions guys, strap wrench wont get in to it due to it being slightly recessed from the wheel! but all is good as darren is going to get it off for me with a heat gun as its now going down there next week for the Coilovers to be fitted along with a stage 4 rebuild!!
