Nice car mate, loving the smoothed back end, is that the edition38 raffle car? looks very similar. would also be interested to know the et of those wheels.....
-
Hi You haven't actually listed it but you have a pic of the abs light, if it is for sale can you let me know the price as I will have it if its reasonable! : ) I'm assuming it works and is for a late car, vr6 as it looks the same as mine. also form that area of the dash do you have the blank that is similar in shape to the abs light? If its in good nick I would also be interested in that, thanks Laurence.

R36 - When a Corrado is not quite big enough for the family!!
lj16v replied to vr6monkey's topic in Members Gallery
Mmmm, nice! Yes someone has put an r36 into a raddo, in America, think I either saw it on vortex or YouTube, definately saw a vid.....sounded pretty awesome! I have thought about it in a moment of madness when I saw an r36 motor for sale, however........so glad I didn't, apparently the software side of things is so so complicated, can be done though : )) -
I will take the steering wheel please : ) Actually bought one last week from the forum, but when it tuned up.......the little piece of plastic that sticks out the back where the wheel mounts to the hub/spline had broken off in transit, arrrrrgh!! So please please can you make sure that it is super wrapped when you send it ! : ) Let me know your PayPal details and I will send you the money....... Laurence

lj16v replied to Andrew_LWSDesign's topic in Parts for Sale
Full carbon for me, with the under side sections lacquered as we briefly discussed in the other thread. When I get round to it i will give you a call Andrew, can also pick up as I'm not too far away and sometimes I'm over your way picking up materials anyway.....haha wonder if I could sneak this thought the business?.....perhaps not!! Laurence. -
Oh that dose sound good : ) I'll be in touch in the new year......gotta go and get ready for this fancy dress nye party!!
-
I'm pretty interested in this........was thinking I would contact you at some point in the new year about one of these! Probably want it painted on the outside with the oem holes for the washer jets, want to keep the car 'looking' standard, like the idea of seeing the carbon on the inside though, one question I was going to ask.....what is the finish on the underside where the sound deadening/insulation would go? It looks matt/raw, I'm thinking about leaving the foam off but would like the finish to be consistent, is that a possibility? Laurence

Ah damn! Looks like I missed the abs light to cazza but if it falls though for some reason, can I have second dibs please : )

Late Black Bits & a Few Odds and Sods: New pics/Items post #17
lj16v replied to CazzaVR's topic in Parts for Sale
hi andy im interested in few of your interior bits; the centre tunnel plastic (rear section), dose this in fact split just in front of the astray or is it all one piece? the carpet/sill trims the dash, but i only need the outer/skin and not the centre console so i don't know if the guy who was looking into carriage only needs the centre console and was only buying the whole thing as thats the way you are selling it? anyway if you are willing to split and he dosen't want it then i'll have the dash if its mint. i know you haven't got it listed but i'm also after a glove box as there is a hole in the back of mine! , a leather handbrake handle (can be rough as it will be trimmed), leather vr wheel (again rough is fine), mint abs light, rear turret carpets, rear boot floor carpet, spare wheel and tool kit. just though id ask as i know you guys break a few cars. cheers, laurence. -
uuh oh!! i can see a local power battle coming on.......

hi mate im interested in the vr6 steering wheel and also the boot carpet (across the spare wheel and up the turrets) can you send me pics please if they are still available (havent read through the whole thread) For me the carpets need to be in excellent condition but the wheel is going to get trimmed so if the leather is rough then thats fine, but a pic would be good none the less... thanks, laurence -
ive got to second the vote for Meguiars Ultimate compound, it really is so easy to use and the finish is like glass, ive just done my mums Alfa with it (black car = lots of cleaning in the countryside!) its come up looking amazing!! this time i used it neat with no water at all, mainly because there was an official Meguiars detailing guide in the back of PVW a few months ago and that was how their official detailer guy was using the product, was dubious initially but it just buffs off with a microfibre cloth and no need to wash before the seal/wax stage I ve used a ton of cutting compounds in the past, and always used them with water but they were the more aggressive/corse compounds so maybe that is a good idea, also those will make the panel hotter as they are cutting more! also on that note, the Utlimate Compound is so fine that it is kind of idiot proof in terms of not leaving swirls or going through your lacquer on the edges of panels!! im using a very expensive polisher (festool) which is lovely but not essential, can achieve excellent results with something more basic, my advice would be to turn the speed right down and go carefully always moving the head across the panel. before anyone says....i know that is a super basic approach/explanation but its not aimed at the pros out there, as i think has already been mentioned there is plenty of good info on detailing world and other sites should you really want to get into it!! ---------- Post added at 1:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 1:40 PM ---------- oh just to add, Kip you will get good results on your rear lights with the ultimate compound (have done this myself) like you said though, have a go on you daily first!

Ok mate I'll pm you in a second.... Yeah a little meet with a few of us could be cool, always good to see what others have done/are up to! Got to say I'm pretty impressed with the r32, I had wanted to do the conversion on my old vr, but plans changed and actually buying one already done especially by Kev and Stealth has certainly saved me a ton of hassle and I expect money also! The thing that is so impressive is that it is smooth and can be driven quite sedately in traffic etc, then when desired its really very rapid indeed!! Oh and it also sounds pretty epic! I personally think its the way forward as you basically get a nice fairly new modern engine without any internal ware issues as you do in now ageing vr's (well unless fully rebuilt at great expense) and even better is that it replaces almost all of the rados old dodgy electrics/sensors etc which was where my old vr was struggling! Think you will like it if ya go out for a spin.... There is of course the potential to take it further but right now I am very happy to have a car that's just an update on what was always a fun little car, it's stopped me buying a 911 for now so I can focus on saving for a house!!
-
Hi Rams Bloody hell mate, the car really is quite something, commitment!! im local to you, near Swanage but always over in B'mth, would be really cool to have a look at yours and in particular the trim work sometime, I've recently bought Kev's R32 after suddenly and unexpectedly selling my vr!, anyway there are a couple of small bits id like to get trimmed like steering wheel so would be good to see the job your guy has done and get his number... maybe pm me your number and we can arrange something.... laurence.
