  1. If it's a later model I think it should close along with the windows so maybe you have a fault somewhere.
  2. I'm not entirely sure but I think the full closure only included the sunroof on later model c's
  3. Don't be surprised if you have squirrels gathering around your car now.
  4. on that last point, try closing the windows by turning and holding the key in the lock (if not delocked). If the drivers one still doesn't close then it could be because the sunroof is disconnected.
  5. It may be that the timed output on your alarm is not set for a long enough duration to close both windows. What make of alarm do you have?
  6. This is normal on the c, if you lock the car with the key and hold it in the turned position the sunroof and windows will close and the drivers window always closes last.
  7. But it still doesn't explain why the windows work with the drivers door open, or am I missing something here?
  8. Very nice pics mate, love the head on shot of my storm, one to save in my album methinks. Looking forward to the next one.
  9. I think they look good Luke. Maybe you just need to get used to them.
  10. i think you will find this is a loom problem. the only difference when the door is open is that the door strike switch is open (interior light on) although this shouldn't affect the windows and the loom is in a different position and is probably making the broken circuit (most probable cause).
  11. If fuse 14 is blown, why do the windows work with the drivers door open?
  12. Could be a break in the loom going across into the drivers door that is only making when the door is open. Does the electric window on the passenger side work with the passenger side switch (drivers door closed)?
  13. I think you should enjoy her a litte bit Jimbo, don't wrap her up in too much cotton wool. Is it the car that was advertised for £8995 on exchange and mart?
  14. Looks mint. How many miles, price? Love the storm mats :)

    Fog lights

Yes RW1 I stand corrected, 535 953 141 is the early model clear glass for the turn signal, 535 953 141 B is the later version.

    Fog lights

That part number isn't for the fog light, it's for the left turn signal light on the later model C Hope this helps
  17. Very nice looking C, a good find methinks.
  18. I think the leads on my '96 C are the original ones and they are black.
  19. Thanks for the info RW1, I think the coolant could do with a change out anyway so I will try the ratio you have suggested when refilling.
  20. Maybe I should get a fully open grille, my oil temp on the motorway can be around 110-115'C and have even seen it running at 120-122'C. Around town it is usually around 102-104'C What do you think?
  21. Thanks you for that correction guys. I had assumed that this was a storm specific feature as I hadn't seen a grille with only the bottom slat open on a VR6, although I have seen a fully open grille on a Storm.
  22. Before I bought my storm I phoned VW (any main dealer can provide the information) with the vin/chassis no. and they were able to confirm that the car was a storm. This information was recorded on their database when the car was originally sold. In addition, if the car is mystic blue the paint code on the sticker inside the boot should be LC5L (storm specific) this should also be on the sticker on the first page of the service schedule book. other than that there isn't much to discern a storm from a standard VR6 but look for a front grille with the two tops slats closed. This was specific to the storm for some reason although not sure why. If this is missing the car may still be a storm as it could have been replaced after an accident. The car should be fitted with 15" solitudes and these may be fitted with either BBS or VW wheel caps. Hope this helps.
  23. Well I can't honestly say if they have ever worked properly because they were like this when I bought the car but when I was making adjustments to the alarm program I did get them to continue running for a little longer, maybe 5 seconds or so, just don't know how I did it and haven't been able to repeat it since.
  24. Maybe you should try your hand at making a storm badge, you could earn a small fortune!
