Can someone tell me the symptoms of sloppy engine mounts? When i'm driving and take my foot quickly off the accelerator if feels like the engine jerks. If I come off the gas slowly it doesn't happen. Engine mounts?

They will normally repair it providing that the puncture is in the centre 3/4 of the tyre. If it's towards the edges they will normally tell you it's a new tyre.

Ultimately people who pay to insure their cars are paying for the accidents of those who are not insured. Big brother or not, why should I pay for someone elses accident?

Judging by the quote from the article it appears you will not have to insure the vehicle if you declare it's not being used. I would fully support this measure as the number of uninsured drivers is becoming a joke not to mention the number of unlicenced drivers! String up the lot of em!

I think you need somewhere in the region of 25-30 seconds to close the sunroof and both windows. I've used variable timer relays in the past for other applications I'm sure RS must do a 12vdc version. The god clifford has badly let me down! Thanks for your help Gavin, much appreciated.

No Problem Lenningrad. The concept 50x_uk does have a variable timed channel 4 output and at one point I managed to get it to half close the passenger window and the sunroof. When I tried to increase the duration further it just reverted back to twitching the windows. I'm pretty sure it's the brain that's up the creek. I think a timer relay from somewhere like RS Components fed from the channel 4 output is probably the easiest solution, just need to hunt down the wires.

The total closure facility is standard on the 50X_UK. Spoke to a clifford installer near me and they said I would either need to get the brains sent for repair or have an additional timer relay fitted to pulse the windows/sunroof long enough to close them. In both cases they said I was looking at around £100 to sort it. I could probably do the relay fix myself.

Saw a red VR, A15 *** on the M25 today (27/09/05), rode convoy with it between A30 and M4 jcts, no acknoldgement from the mature driver though. Anyone?

Have you tried reversing up your drive instead of driving in front first? Not sure if that will make any difference :?

At the end of the day Luke as long as you like them that's what counts. If I wasn't intent on keeping my car standard I'd fit some myself. Mmmm, Maybe another C is what's needed for full modding :wink:

I'm glad you have got to the bottom of the problem. I tried pulling fuse 14 on my c and seeing if the windows would work with the door open but they didn't. Still can't figure why yours did.

RW1: "which would explain why opening the passenger door stops the windows operating as this switch is working normally" He said that his windows only work with the drivers door open.
