  1. Over the past weekend I moved the car from my parents house to my storage unit for the next couple of months until I find a new house. In the mean time i will be picking up a bunch of parts for the real fun this fall/winter. Last night I managed to pick up a VR6 front subframe, and VR6 Rear K frame that has been reinforced around the engine mount cups. If I get a chance tonight I will go take some pictures. I also ordered new control arms, ball joints, tie rod ends, and a full PROthane bushing kit for the car. Those should be here this weekend along with the last bits I need for my Mk1
  2. My 16v Golf had bad wheel bearings for over a year, no issues except for tire wear that wasn't too pleasent. But I have heard horror stories about bearings coming apart while driving. If you are going to do one front one, do both of them then have the car aligned. They do have to be pressed out and back in. If you do some of the work yourself (pull the spindles off of the car) and take them to a machine shop to have new bearings pressed in, it will save you a good chunk of money. On the 16v it cost me around $80 to have the bearings pressed plus $40 per bearing and then I had one of my friends align the car for me for free (kinda good to know people in the industry)
  3. My corrado has been sitting for a while, I have been working on a couple of other projects: My 83 Mk1 Rabbit: Which just got a new engine and transmission, a set of coilovers, and new wheels. dscf1435.jpg[/attachment:6088e] and my Gf's Mk2 Golf 16v which got a new engine 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfdscf1186.jpg[/attachment:6088e] But I did go buy a few parts for the corrado in the mean time. EuroSport Lower Stress Bar climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfDSCF1535.JPG[/attachment:6088e] And tonight I am going to pick up a few more parts for the car.
  4. I have a tan seal, and it is too dark, so I covered the seal in the same fabric I used on the headliner. My other idea was to dye the seal but I decided against that. Its been a while since I have logged in here. Not really too much going on right now with the car, just collecting some more parts to try and get it back together again.
  5. Tryin to get a set of borbet Type T's off of a friend for the car right now. 16x9 all the way around. I will go snap some pics of them on his car later today.
  6. Sorry to hear that... An eaton would be the only way I could keep the G60 lump in my car. I am ready to tear mine out and put a VR6 in from g-ladder problems.
  7. yeah I cant wait to have a dash back in it... I miss driving it. I miss being able to sit in it and play with things too tho.
  8. I knew I should have kept that grey interior!!! It looks great in your car though doogie. This car is a blast to drive, the eaton setup is so much nicer than the G-ladder
  9. @joeyz I will post more pics as soon as I see your ride... I want to see this german spec g60 beast that you keep talking about
  10. you need to weld in a bracket for the rear seats. the gap is about the same though.
  11. thats odd I have a PDF version of the bentley. I wonder if it is a US thing...
  12. I wish I was acrossed the pond so I could see this car in person. It looks beautifull and there is something about that car that makes it look like a brand new car. The interior updates the entire car and makes it seem like a new VW. :thumb right: It is always good to hear of about an engine conversion a year or two down the road from when it was finished and even better to hear how well it is doing
  13. Today I got a passat rear door handle for my passenger side (no lock) I am debating color matching them to the car. Also finished re-doing one of my door panels.
  14. thank you, just what I was looking for.
  15. I'm not running very low but I find a slight angle on the approach to speed hump helps, i.e. get one front wheel rising before the other, providing you can do it without oncoming traffic thinking you're trying to take them out :) How about a citroen hydraulic suspension mod? Like he said just approach things at an angle. it will save your front splitter and your suspension.
  16. are you trying to pull the entire sunroof assembly or just the lid??? if it is just the lid then you need a torx bit to get it out, either a 15 or 20... cant remember off the top of my head.
  17. They will look good under the car and really stand out well because of the chromed subframes and beam.
  18. why the red may I ask... I wouldn't think that it would flow well with the overall theme of the car. Well done on the sub frames though, they look great. I can't wait to see the second PVW feature. :notworthy:
  19. I didn't find that piece on the Golf cluster. Guess it is corrado only. And you can also get a very basic diagnostic from the ecu of other things too. It is almost like VW started writing code for the vag com into the ecu but stopped in the middle of it.
  20. I thought that vag com didn't work on G60's..... And it is on both vr6 and g60, but not the late model clusters... I wonder if anything else had that, I'm going to check my girlfriends golf today for it to.
  21. Thanks mate, it was'nt that hard to do either, about 5 hours work in total. Not done the boot or mates yet though, but they should be easy. I am thinking about trying to make some carpet for the boot as black doesnt look very good in there with tan in the rest of the car.
  22. The whole bit about anti-terrorism sounds almost like a George Bush thing... We have the same problem on this side of the pond with German style plates. The cops go nuts about having them anywhere on the car and ask too many questions. It all gives me a headache.
  23. I think I am gonna go a bit lower soon.
