Well I never did put them pics up just as good well seeing photobucket screwed us over Basically got the car running made the rest of the exhaust fitted some Leon cupra r 4 pot brembos Made my way down to stealth and it made 396 bhp 341 ftlb after being mapped Since then I bought a valver with some cloth recaros off ebay which I swapped seats with the leather in mine, I bought the valver without viewing and thought I'd end up selling it on after swapping the seats but it felt like a good un on the drive home so I intended to keep it as a daily to replace the Micra I currently use my wife drove it and wanted it so she now uses it as a daily and I'm still stuck in the Micra! Ran it for a year to try iron any niggles out and I've now taken it off the road to overhaul the underside and address any rust issues few pics of where I'm up to Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Final push to clear my remaiining parts cache
neil20vtc replied to Graphite's topic in Parts for Sale
Do you have any of the seat runner trims left and if so how much are they? -
You should be able to drill the rubber part of the old ones out then carefully cut the remaining sleeve with a hacksaw blade, poly ones just tap in with a bit of the supplied lube on them but some folk don't recommend them as they don't have any give in them like the original type

I used to be with Brentacre with my 20vt corrado ,currently have my vrt insured with hic

The sensor should be on the oil filter housing where the filter screws into there should be a t piece to allow the two mk2 sensors ( temp and pressure) to fit the 1.8t filter housing that's how my old one was but I didn't run a pressure gauge I'm presuming your gauge will be plumbed in round there too
-
Is the oil warning light showing on the dash and any warning buzzers going off? If not and it's only showing low on that gauge it could just be faulty wiring to/from the gauge
-
Another vote for beru, I got a different branded one from euro car parts and it was faulty straight out if the box!

I have the Leon cupra r brembo setup on mine and fitted i think 6mm spacers between the hub and carrier so the caliper lines up with the cupra r disc think this is the norm due to the differences in the two cars hubs longer bolts to make up for the spacers is also advised

As above anyone got any coilovers knocking about for a 16v I know you can get some cheap ones new nowadays but was hoping someone has some half decent ones they want rid of must still be adjustable I have some standard dampers with lowering springs fitted that have only covered a few thousand miles if anyone would be interested in some kind of swap/part ex

Got it going in the end ashamed to admit that it was the hose I'd fitted, must of picked up a non reinforced piece of fuel resistant hose pressure had blown it,had me scratching my head for a bit though as fuel was still making it to the rail, anyways fitted the right bit of hose I had lying around and jobs a good un! And hear what your sayin about the walbros I'll wait and see how long this one lasts managed to fit it lower in the pump housing so shouldn't get starved of fuel, how was the 044 for noise as heard they are very noisy?
-
Sorry I said swirl pot it's the original pump housing in the tank of a vr6 with a walbro pump fitted, just fitted a new hose to one of the in tank pump lines and it still did the same thing with fuel bubbling up around the pump so I presume it's a return of some sort and normal After this car ran great got boost back then it's just died on me currently stuck in a layby turns over but won't start I'm about ready for settin the thing alight!
-
Hi can anyone tell me if it's normal for fuel to be coming up round the top of the swirl pot when the pumps running? Think I have a fuelling issue I've replaced the pump walbro 255 for vrt with another but I'm still having an issue with the car hesitating on boost had the car running with the pump running in tank to check for leaks on the intank hoses and fuel seems to be coming up round the pump when it's running is this normal? Cheers Neil

well think its about time i updated this! i got the box back and on the car and then the car got moved to my new house where i was able to crack on with it a bit better and also just nip in the garage for an odd half hour which wasnt worth doing when it was up at the barn fitted the turbo but the kinetic manifold i bought being intended for lhd meant the turbo inlet was inline with the master cylinder/resevoir someone on the vr6oc suggested making something to swing it up out of the way which i did made the downpipe and modified the heatshield cleaned the sump up a wee bit and welded a an fitting to it for the oil drain made a oil feed line for the turbo and fitted into t piece the short runner i bought ended up being for a obd2 car so i made an adapter so my obd1 throttle body would fit the rest of the photos have not been uploaded to photobucket yet so ill update with the rest tomorrow!

Do you have the rear lights left and if so how much are you wanting for them? Neil

I'm sure Stealth themselves use a Chinese copy turbo off eBay but then send them off to have decent bearings put in by a British company I'm sure someone on the vr6oc posted up the contact details for the company could save some pennies that way

everything I read when researching before I did mine suggested these kits are no good but it seemed like a load of folk just didn't dare try them as they seemed to good to be true! end of the day as coullstar said I would always try to use proven parts which unfortunately come at a higher cost, as imagine if you used one of these kits spent lots of time doing it all then one of the cheap components fails causing damage to the engine and resulting in you having to pull everything apart again I bought a fair chunk of the parts needed for mine from bartek Motorsport in Germany who have a section for vrt parts I did this when the exchange was good though so saved a few pennies that way Neil

Right well maf arrived yesterday fitted it started the car and it idled ok but still running rich let it run upto temp and it settled down with correct afr readings Came to start it tonight first turn of the engine was slow then turned over normal afr showed running rich again then as soon as I touched the throttle the smoke started again! Any ideas anyone? I've got a new blue temp sensor which I'm going to try but from what I have read they affect hot running rather than cold? Thankfully quick squirt of lube sorted the ignition Neil
-
Well got the afr recalibrated tried starting the car car with everything but the maf plugged in after having the battery off to reset the ecu car would start and stall before the afr's lambda was upto temp plugged maf in car idled but afr was at 10/11 which is full throttle amounts of fuel not good hoping this maf sorts it when it gets here Also in typical corrado fashion the ignition has now started playing up as in the key just won't turn at all great!

sorry didnt mean to ignore your post before just quickly replied whilst on brew at work thanks for the offer of trying one of your mafs i have ordered a second hand one of ebay so will try that and see how i go as for the injectors im only running the standard ones at the moment so i can drive the car off boost down to get mapped it then has the bosch blue 470cc ones swapped in
-
Changed the plugs to ones vince suggested I use, old ones were wet and stink of fuel I have a afr gauge but it needs recalibrating as stealth removed it to fit there own for mapping im in the process of recalibrating it And it only did a power run then was returned to standard map/ injectors so I doubt if it is that Thanks for the replys

after a bit of help had my car running for a bit now with its turbo setup but still on standard injectors and map, drove down to stealth last week to get it mapped but they couldnt do it permenatly as i need to move the maf further away as well as some other bits anyways car drove down to them from cumbria just fine but on the journey home it started feeling like it was hesitating/missfiring on the motorway but it cleared up before the next services so i carried on got home put the car away was running fine came to it a couple of days later and was laboured starting then when it did start its now running really rich chuggging out black smoke i have replaced the lambda as vince suggested fitting a new one for peace of mind i have also replaced the plugs leads and coilpack but its still doing it if i unplug the maf it seems to run better no black smoke but still stinks of fuel i tried unplugging the tps still does the same i also tried unlugging the blue temp sensor but i also had the battery disconnected when i started it up again with maf plugged in it ran fine so i thought it must be the temp sensor, i unplugged the maf whilst it was running and it got worse so i presumed the maf must be ok but after a few more seconds of running it started running rough again and the smoke started again which now makes me think it cant be the temp sensor so yeah its driving me mad i need to start getting on with the jobs that need doing before i take it back down to stealth but this problem is holding me back, anyone with any ideas im leaning towards the maf but want to be sure as for a bosch one from eurocarparts its £234! ironically one from vw would have been around £130 but they told me they are now obsolete any help much apprecaited neil
