  1. Everyone should buy my car :D jackroo, AFAIK not all superchargers can be rebuilt, however you won't know whether its beyond ecomonical repair or not until you open it up and have a look at the condition inside. If theres no history of a charger rebuild then you have to add £400 to the price of the car straight away to get one done, otherwise it could end up costing you around £700-£1000 for a new one. You can do a boost test to give some indication of what condition the superchargers in, but this won't necessarily tell the whole story (see buyers guide for how to do a boost test) That means the corrado you're looking at will actually cost you £2000, which isn't all that cheap, unless its otherwise good condition, which by the way you've described it, it isn't. Also don't go to Jabba to get the charger rebuilt, get it done at G-Werks, and if you're looking for more power, again G-Werks is the place to go. Jabba don't have the best reputation on these forums.
  2. Good work 8) I had a bash at doing this on my car a while ago... I didn't get very far  I hate bodywork
  3. yeah its a pain, but they do fit
  4. I've played with a few... managed to keep up with one (I assume the 221bhp version) before i had my front mount intercooler fitted - so maybe could have even nosed ahead once this was done... only a short race though, in a straight line and a rolling start In the wet around a long bend I got apsolutely destroyed by another one! I was doing about 80mph round this bend, thinking i was going too fast it was all going to go horribly wrong, when the scooby just flew past me on the outside, doing about 100mph! By the time we got onto the straight bit of road, he was about 10 cars ahead of me - figured he'd pretty much 'shown' me at that point, so didn't bother trying to catch up. Not sure what power that one was, but probably the same 221bhp as before... and much bigger balls than me! :?
  5. Your brother's golf is very nice! 8) I've never bothered posting pictures of mine on this thread as I never measured the distance from/to anywhere... but here's an old one anyway Suspension: FK Konigsport Coilovers
  6. Here we go: http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... highlight=
  7. as far as I know it was straight sawp - but this is me trying to remeber a topic from a while back, so don't take my word for it! When searching around I found a couple of interesting threads on Vortex. They seem to have gone through all the possibilities of different gearboxes, so there's quite a lot of info on there. This is also an interesting website: http://www.techtonicstuning.com/TransRatios.html But seemingly no mention of the Golf Mk3 16v gearbox... I'll see if I can find the original thread on this topic...
  8. I do remember one guy going through with this swap when the topic first came up a year or two back. He seemed very happy with the conversion, but didn't really give much of a review. I quickly looked on google to see if I could find the ratios for the Mk3 gearbox, but couldn't find anything... I seem to remember a quote of 63mph in 2nd though :?
  9. Don't have any side shots, best pic I could find: I'm not sure what it is I don't like about it, but I just don't think it looks right - never seen an aftermarket bumper on the corrado that does.
  10. The DDI bumper looks really good from the front, but I don't think it looks right from the side - so I'd always go for the standard
  11. How many miles on the car and the engine? whats the bodywork like? service history? The normal car things will effect the price despite all the work you've done. Really good condition G60's seem to go for around £3000 - £4000 depending on the spec. So I'd say around the £5000 - £5500 mark for yours.
  12. its all under control... was the top one, woo my car starts again!! :D
  13. OK I'm being dumb, but I don't know where all the wires go on the starter motor of the G60. I've just replaced mine, and although i thought to take a photo of the general area before removing it, it still doesn't clearly show where a certain red wire attaches :? Can anyone tell me where all the wires go on the G60 Starter Motor, or does anyone have any pictures of the starter motor on their cars? The one i'm confused about is the fat red one - it either attaches to the top thread, or the bottom thread? Cheers for any help!! Chris
  14. How much can you expect to get for a Corrado by breaking it? I was trying to work out how much all the main parts go for (if i were to break mine) but to be honest couldn't seem to get the final figure above £2000 - and that would be including the modifications i have on mine. People keep saying they're worth more in parts, but how?
  15. nice clean engine bay 8) i have 1 picture of my engine bay in my for sale thread, that if you click it will give a very high resolution version, although you seem to have a few to chose from anyway
  16. Its a random VW club started in the North East, Teesside area - basically the same idea as "Unit 21", "Edition 38" and "Junction 29", hence where the name came from too  We've had a couple of club stands at various shows, organised monthly meets etc. but obviously still only early days, so not very well known, but hopefully will be :)
  17. http://www.demonvw.co.uk All VAG related website/forum - responsible for organising "VW Summer Nights" and "VW Festival" This is where all the Section 5 people are too (we even have our forum area :D )...although i'm currently building a dedicated Section 5 website which should be up and running soon :)
  18. Just remove the bracket. The other trays that attach to the dash underneith hold it stable enough, you won't even notice its gone
  19. I like the wheels, not a lot else... would it be a dumb question to ask what those wheels are?
  20. ah yes I probably should have mensioned that, cheers greeny :) Bally, the old suspension is a lot less harsh than the konigsports, and figured people would rather buy a cheaper car, than one that looks more modified, so put the old wheels back on too :) Might as well put the newest pictures that are on the For Sale thread up
  21. Updates are a little disappointing as the progress in terms of looks has gone backwards apposed to forwards :( Although I do have a rather large intercooler fitted now, so its not all bad :D Engine - Golf G60 Front Mount intercooler fitted I lost my rieger grille just after fitting the intercooler :( apparently just using velcrow to hold it to the car wasn't enough! So thats why i've got the old grille back on now. I actually quite liked it for a while, but looking at the old pictures of it with the rieger grille on, i miss it! Interior - sold my DDI dials to KarlG60, and swapped my late spec interior for his early interior - i never did get the late spec heater controls wired up or working properly, so i was quite glad to get a full working interior back, even if it is just the early spec one! Wheels and suspension - back to how they were when i bought the car, 16" BBS RK's with Eibach springs and Koni shocks - ride is sooooo much nicer now, and the handling is far better! Doesn't look as good IMO, but the car is a lot nicer to drive now :) I'll get some more up to date photo's of the car posted up when its not snowing, so i can actually wash it!
  22. thats JBOB's corrado, although it looks a little different now..
  23. no its not metallic - tornado red - colour code LY3D
  24. its got 16" BBS RK's and Eibach springs with koni shocks. I'll get a full advert up in a couple of days with new pictures and the full spec :)
