  1. Blue_Joe was telling me they don't fit with the Konigsport suspension... the only one's that do are the G60 ones :(
  2. Not really an update, but some more information... I very nearly bought the Bar-Tek pipework and samco yesterday, however it would seem buying from them is more expensive than I realised. They accept bank transfers or paypal, which means either paying £27 + a poor exchange rate to Western Union. Or 4% paypal fee's + currency conversion fee's, taking the total cost of the pipes and samco up to £241 (western union option would have cost £262) :( I hope Darren is having better luck getting the pipes sorted with his pipe bender!
  3. I rebuilt my interior finally a week or so ago, so I can now enjoy the sound proofing to its full potential... and to be honest I'm not sure I can really tell the difference, I shouldn't have left the interior out for so long because I can't remember how loud the car was before I added the sound proofing, it was that long ago! I still don't have a quiet car though, which is a bit of a shame, but most of the noise is coming from the engine, which is a good thing :)
  4. Cars looking sweet as usual, really gutted I missed E38 this year, looked like fun 8) Hopefully I'll get mine as low as yours soon :)
  5. I really like them, I think G60Dan has similar wheels. My choice would have to be 17" BBS LM's with black centres and outer polished lip 8)
  6. my outlet clears the fan, but only just :)
  7. Followed a Lamborghini Diablo up to 130mph on the A19 Seen a Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, and an Aston Martin V8 Vantage (1986-89 version) in Yarm. Don't know how rare these cars are, but they were pretty cool to see 'in the wild'
  8. Quick update for anyone interested... I emailed bar-tek and they said they can't supply the samco hosing for their kit in anything but blue :( which is unfortunate... Also I was watching an ebay auction for G60 boost tubes, but the price has gone a bit high for me... the guy said he'd post to the UK for 20euros I think, so if anyone else wants to bid: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 7992780429 not long left...
  9. Ah ok so your using both the inlet and outlet IC pipes from the corrado to create a single one you can use? I think I might give this a try as a temporary measure of installing the intercooler, depending on how long it takes to get the alloy pipework made up. I'm guessing in addition you still need the U-bend outlet and some kind of connecting hose to get the intercooler fully installed (on the inlet side of things)?
  10. I think thats the second time thats been up for sale, as I'm sure its the same one I got outbid on... kongo127, I kinda follow what your saying about modifying the original CO pipe, but what are connecting it to? or is it just modifying the old one?
  11. I'll switch over to Optimax for a while then  I'm currently paying around 98p for Ultimate  anything to try lower the prices! worth a try...
  12. Another one :( really nice engine spec too, it'd be a shame to see you getting rid of it, but at the same time 1.8T would be even better  If you do go down that route theres probably a couple of bits I'd be interested in
  13. that seems to be the top price they go for too... 251 euros is what the germans keep bidding for them (I lost another auction by 1 euro)... see if you can download one of those programs that auto bids 1 second before the auction ends - I think thats what other people do! Type in "G60 Ladeluftkühler" into UK ebay, and it will show you the ones willing to post to the UK - postage only cost me 28 euros which I thought wasn't bad :) I randomly checked that part code you listed, and its the same as on the intercooler i've got, so yeah definately a normal G60 one
  14. Well it would seem it's a G60 one, which seems to be the best one to go for, so I'm happy :) I bought mine off german ebay - ended up costing me £235 including delivery, which is a bit more than I was hoping to pay (someone threw in a bid 2 seconds before the end which hiked up the price by 50 euros!! ) but considering they seem to go for around £400 on here, its not too bad... looks to be in a lot better condition too, although I'll pressure test it to confirm this.
  15. Cheers for that Polo Classic, that really illustrates what a tight sqeeze the Rallye intercooler is into the corrado :) I spoke to Darren this morning about getting the pipework made up for this, and he says he can provide all the Samco hosing and the Rallye U-bend outlet at the moment, and is currently trying to get the main boost pipe sorted... he said he'll know more soon
  16. I was so confused there... was thinking haven't top gear already done this...? But yeah would be good to see the corrado still being apprieciated
  17. Just wondering if anyone can list all the various sensors and their functions within a G60 engine for me? I'm just wanting to learn what everything does... I've just been reading up on the Blue and Black Temp Sensors (never knew what they did until now), which got me thinking about what else is there? Cheers, Chris
  18. I got rid of my rear badges, apparently theres a couple of holes behind it (either that or the corrado badge) that had to be welded up to stop moisture from getting in...
  19. Just try not to drive too much when you've stripped your car out... you won't want to put it back together! I drove around for about 2 weeks with no dashboard, doorcards etc. and only a drivers seat  It was great! Should look cool with TT seats in :)
  20. I like the sound of that! The Golf IC pipes do fit as far as I know, I just didn't know where I could get hold of them, and also really like the idea of having alloy tubes as you said :) I think the u-bend is available from VW, however I seem to remember someone saying they charge about £250 for it! So much easier to get it off Darren, or ebay etc. We actually only need one pipe making, the rallye u-bend, and then a few samco pieces to bring it all together. If you take a look at the picture attached (Henny's IC pipework bought from Bar-Tek) The main IC pipe is the one at the top. The 2 90° elbows connect that tube to the throttle body, and the outlet of the intercooler. Finally the large piece of samco on the right of the picture, connects the U-bend outlet to the inlet of the intercooler. The other pieces shown in the picture are for the boost return - although on a seperate note, while doing this I was thinking it would be cool to make up a twin inlet system on the supercharger, that had a tube from the charger to where the battery is... The basic items listed above from Bar-Tek cost around £220... The big piece of samco costing £90 alone! Even then, the tube still needs to be cut down an inch or so according to Henny, and have the end re-crimped (I don't actually know the proper term, but you know... kinda made fatter to stop the hose falling off). So... should we see who's interested, and ask Darren if he can sort out a couple of kits?
  21. If bar-tek can supply the samco in black, then I think I'll get the pipework from them... then I guess I'll have to work out the exact specs of the samco I need for the charger to cooler - unless someone else already knows it? Also do I need to get the cooler cleaned or pressure tested?
  22. Do you know where I could get the samco from? Just worked out that the pipe work will cost me about £320 if I buy a u-bend outlet, and then the samco from that to the cooler... so if I can save some money by combining those two into a single samco, and using my existing RSR outlet, that would be a bonus :)
  23. I've got some dynamat left over from my old car, so hopefully that'll be enough to cover a door if one of my window motors brakes... just refitted my door cards today, and the door feels a lot heavier, and makes a much more definate 'cluck' when it closes... yet to tell about noise reduction tho
  24. I think they're safe to use as long as your car's properly setup with it one.. however I have read of people getting dodgey idles - but thats not a huge issue i guess..
