woah i haven't even put an advert up yet! sounds like its too cheap  nah, it's got different wheels and suspension on at the moment, and i've priced it to sell - i've seen lesser cars go for a lot more, but i don't fancy waiting around for the sake of a £100 or so. I'll fix the spoiler, take some pictures, and put an advert up in a week or so :) Sorry for the thread hijack
-
Yes you need one... mines never given me any hassle at all - had the usual corrado problems such as the sunroof and spoiler breaking, but nothing major at all :) and it just so happens mine will be up for sale very soon for £2500 :D - just need to fix the spoiler first

Guess i misunderstood. Anyway i agree that if something doesn't work properly, then its a stupid idea. But what we're doing is finding an alternative to using the original VW connections :) As long as it works properly, it shouldnt be a problem.
-
To be fair we're talking about 2 switches on the dash, which will not be taken out on a daily basis. Yes it isn't the correct way to do this, but if it works and saves £50 then I'll be happy with it. If it didn't function correctly or wasn't reliable, then it would just end up being more work and we wouldn't do it We managed to get hold of the connectors for the window switches for a reasonable cost, so i've soldered those in, put heat shrink on the connections and done it properly. Jay you were saying that you did a similar thing with the window switches in your own car on a thread just the other day...

Its possible to bodge without needing all the new style stuff... Myself and KarlG60 are currently installing a late spec dash into his car. He managed to find a late spec wiring loom, but the guy wanted £50 for it! So instead we're using spade connectors on the back of the switches :) Also for the heater controls, the early cables are being joined to late style ones using chocolate block connectors ...will have more details when its actually finished, and will able to say whether it all worked or not

yes the bumper is mounted to the brackets with plastic clips (about 10), can't remember if there are any screws also, but you can separate the two.
-
you should be able to get access to the bolts holding the bumper on with everything in place :? how very confusing, got any pictures?

make-shift spray booth, NOW WITH SpRAY GUN!

We did this for a while too - sprayed my own sunroof (after it broke and scratched itself  ) Only problem was dust! could have really used a big extractor to complete the setup, still really useful tho! -
Some more photos that i don't think have been posted yet...

Lol its not an RC car, its doublezero's corrado (i think thats his username). Cool car imo 8)

Stealth charge £80 + VAT for the 4 wheel alignment. I was thinking of doing the same thing, but seemed a bit over the top when taking the cost of petrol into account too :?
-
I used velcrow. Fastened to the lights... worked well for ages, but then kinda flew off at high speed :( So I would suggest using screws - i personally wouldn't be overly happy with screwing into the lights, but maybe you could fasten it to the slam panel somehow - and at the same time stop it from sagging! (it was always on the 'to do' list)

Another...

GIXXERUK already posted it, but here's the originals... I did this before i even had a corrado, and i think i actually prefer the original wheels now, lol

My Turbo VR6 Rado... some new photo, page 5
Shilakadaddy replied to VR6 Glock's topic in Members Gallery
that oil coolers huge!! Looks really nice, those wheels sit perfectly imo 8) -
Saw a similar one on vortex a while ago. Something I'd like to have a go at doing, but i'd want it to be totally concealed, otherwise it'd get nicked straight away from round here :( Is it safe to have a computer that close to a sub? I would have thought a giant magnet wouldn't do HDD's any good :?

I haven't really paid much attention to the S5 Newcastle meet, but it sounds like there's gonna be quite a lot of us there! Might post a thread in the Meets section see if we can get more corrados there than golfs! Cars looking good Karl, we'll have plenty to do to it in the coming months, I'm really looking forward to it, and its not even my car! lol 8)

I did have a second car to use when i couldn't afford to put petrol in the corrado, when it was off the road, and when i was visiting anywhere where i wasn't sure if the car was gonna be safe (happens quite a lot when you live in Teesside!). To be honest it didn't really work out much cheaper at all, but just for those other situations where it was really handy, i think its a really good idea...

This car seems to be developing very quickly, sounds like its going to be a bit of animal when its finished 8) Looks awesome too :)

Couple of ways to make insurance cheaper... they're kinda obvious, but do help in a big way! Less miles per year - I say I do 3000 apposed to most who say around 8-12k Add parents as named drivers Say you drive another car on a regular basis Don't say you're a student! In comparisson to my friends, these are usually the only things that I say differently on my insurance, and mine always works out a whole load cheaper! I think I must have a good postcode too 19yrs old, 0 yrs no claims, Corrado G60 - £1250 TPFT 20yrs old, 1 yrs no claims, Corrado G60 - £850 TPFT 21yrs old, 2 yrs no claims, Twin Turbo Supra - £950 Fully Comp All with Elephant.co.uk :)

Driving a VR after driving my G60 for 2 years, they do feel a lot slower (but having raced my friends many times, they're actually around the same speed). I always thought I wanted a VR6 after hearing that they're smoother, and more refined than the G60 (which is true), but when I finally drove one, I was a little dissappointed, and realised that the franticness of the G60 is much more appealing to me :) With that been said, I would recommend buying a G60... and it just so happens mine will be for sale very soon
-
As soon as I get all the little things finished on my car, it'll be up for sale, and a Twin Turbo Supra will be on the way :D I love VW's and hope when I can afford to that I'll return to owning one - will still be going to all the VW shows next year with the Section 5 guys. But the power potential from the twin turbo jap cars cannot be ignored, especially considering how much they go for nowadays :)

Not many cars tend to race me :? I have to admit I find racing things like scoobys the most fun despite the fact they beat me everytime. More of a challenge than the random saxos, corsas etc. who think that when you slow down at 130, and they then overtake you 5mins later once they've caught up that they won

I've read the same thing on this forum a long time ago when we talking about the 16vG60 Golf. Those yellow things were horrible tho!

to VR or not to VR...that is the question.....
Shilakadaddy replied to swfblade's topic in General Car Chat
I was thinking about doing the same thing. I didn't want to spend much more money on my G60, when I could sell it, get a VR, and then supercharge it for less than it would cost to get the same kind of power out of my G60. I drove Chris's supercharged VR a week or two back, and its completely different to driving a G60. My cars very frantic with the power, the throttle is more of an on/off switch than anything else, as soon as you put your foot down the power is there! The VR is much more relaxed, even with the supercharger. Chris said I was still trying to drive it like a G60, i.e. changing very low down the rev range, and putting my foot down expecting something magical to happen at 2000rpm... In reality the VR doesn't do a lot until 4500rpm, at which point you realise how much quicker it is than the G60 (well Chris's compared to mine!). Oddly enough I wasn't overly excited by it. Sometimes I hate how frantic my car feels to drive, you can't ever relax and go for a little pootle around, but at the same time, thats what I love about it - it makes it feel a lot more powerful and exciting. The VR is a lot more relaxed, with quick but linear accelleration. At the end of the day it depends what you prefer, I think you'll need to drive one to find that out
