  1. As soon as I get some money I gotta get me an oil cooler... when giving it some I've had 128 C :( And the fans come on pretty much everytime I drive the car :?
  2. buzzing... now theres a word I haven't heard for a long time :D I've thought about the TT flip down thing, it looks really nice (on the TT dash) but think on the standard C dash would look a but out of place... oh and I don't really have the money to do a TT dash conversion... yet  I think I'm going to check out those blanking plates... and then do as Henny suggested and mount it in the glove box (... although now everyone knows my genius plan  lol) Although I'm wondering if the dash will look kinda bare..? Anyone ever done anything else different to the dash (other than G60Renshaw) just while we're here with a kinda related topic :) TV's mounted etc.?
  3. what do these look like? Are they just a piece of plastic that fits into the HU slot? this sounds like exactly what I need :)
  4. also anyone know where I could get sheets of plastic that look like the standard plasic in the dash? that kinda grey black textured stuff?
  5. Wanting to hide my head unit really, due to the fact that someone messed up my door trying to break into my car a little while ago (presumably to steal my HU). Since then I've taken my HU out and now I just have a big hole in my dash and no music :( What I really wanna do is hide my HU behind something that looks standard... Has anyone else ever done anything different to their HU - maybe nothing like mentioned above, I'm just interested to see. PICS PICS PICS :D Chris
  6. Hustler was selling a black leather interior, not including the front seats for £300 http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12837 You could ask if he still has them. I'd actually be interested in coupling the two together if you wanted to sell, and hustler still had his for sale :)
  7. The original corrado dials are metal. If the ones on your car at the moment are kinda cheap ones, then the originals should be underneath, but if they were quite high quality ones, then they may have replaced the originals :?
  8. As a random guide for you, I paid £1250 for insurance on my G60 TPFT, I'm 19 with 0 NCB, that was with elephant. So should be a bit cheaper than that if you were to go for one of the other models (except VR6  )
  9. couldn't find what I was talking about, but I did find some pics of a corrado on 19's Chris :)
  10. wasn't there someone on vortex that put 20's on his? I'll find a picture.. don't really remember the details, (if it was real, or finished, or just a joke etc.) looked rather stupid tho :S
  11. I asked my MOT guy about reverse lights, and he said you don't need them on a car for it to be road legal anyway... so I don't see why tinting them would be a problem...? If you're not aloud to have red reverse lights, then just take the bulbs out so you don't have any at all.
  12. Bobby: Filled the main dent and damaged area with fibreglass, and then went over that with filler (2 kinds - one thick stuff and one thinner... not sure if the thinner stuff was a good idea tho) Car is Tornado Red (LY3D) turns out theres 5 variations of this colour code! but managed to get the right one from VW Just patching up at the moment so only spraying the repaired area and trying to blend it in Wasn't sure about primer - what should I be using? I'm guessing from just sanding you can't get it perfect therefore you need something a bit thicker to cover up the tiny imperfections... or are there other reasons for using primer? So far for the sanding I've used 240 to sand down the bulk, and then progressed to 600 then to 1500 - do I need to go any further? Can't feel any imperfections with my finger, but I'm sure if I were to spray now with just the spray can it would show up.... Picture of the damage: pic thumbnailed-vr6storm ^ if that didn't work, then theres a picture on this thread: http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11459 If this doesn't work then I'll probably take it into the bodyshop to get done. I really want to know how to do this sort of thing myself tho, it would save me so much money and i'm really enjoying it :) Thanks for all the help guys :D Chris
  13. Is there anyone on here that is a sprayer, runs a company, or just knows what to do etc? I'm looking for a bit of advice on the steps involved in doing your own bodyshop work... My car was broken into a week or so ago, making a mess of the passenger door, just below the handle. Instead of just taking this in to a bodyshop to get done, I've decided to have a go at doing the repairs myself (and if all goes well, could do other things too). So far I've pulled the dented panel to a smaller dent, and then filled this dent with fibreglass. I've sanded this down and got the original shape back. Next I was going to fill the remaining marks with body filler, sand this down (not sure how fine I should go down to with regard to the sandpaper?) going down the grades, then paint with some paint bought in a spray can from halfords. I'm guessing this will provide only a temporary fix for the problem, and that ideally I would use the proper 2 mix paint and a paint gun, spraying the whole door to get the right finish... Can anyone tell me what exactly the different stages are in doing work such as this to a car. Take for example delocking and dehandling the corrado, what would all the different stages be for this process if I were to take the car into a professional bodyshop to get done? Just the bodywork side, I'll worry about solenoids and such like later :) Cheers for any help/advice Chris
  14. 8) I'm liking mine less and less now :? might go back to the originals with the aluminium surrounds... lol after all that work   Randomly saw this pic on the CC of Canada: Very informative
  15. found a good site that explains the whole situation nicely :) http://www.sloanefox.freeserve.co.uk/importukduty.htm Just gonna get my wheels straight from germany... 799 euros = £526.440 + Delivery :)
  16. I've just looked on a couple of websites trying to find more info on this, and all them so far have said that the gift thing only works with items that are valued £36 and less...? doubt I could say my alloys are worth £36 :( I think I'll just try and get them from germany... by the time I've paid customs and delivery from the US, the total cost willl be far greater
  17. can you get individuals to send things like that marked as gifts tho? My sisters just gone over to america and she could buy me some oettinger alloys while out there... then send them to me :D
  18. to be honest unless I turned the car into a tank I wouldn't be able to stop attacks like this, like DanA said, if they don't do the lock thing they could just break the window! All these things are just deterrents, if they really want to break into my car they will... hopefully without locks it won't look quite so appealing tho :? the thing thats really bugging me is the fact that I was probably awake at the time it happened (being a student on holiday, I'm now nocturnal) and just didn't notice the alarm going off :x Possibly for the best I didn't catch em tho, because if I'd done any damage to them, they would have come back with 500 mates and done that 10 fold to my car :!:
  19. Was rather annoyed to find my passenger side door lock with a nice hole and big dent below it today, just after picking up my grille from getting sprayed  Happens so often now that it wasn't at all supprising, but still bloody annoying! I'm guessing *whoever* was after my Headunit - its a nice looking sony one that doesn't have a detachable front... doesn't work without the remote, but that won't stop anyone from nicking it :( But despite their efforts it seems they didn't get in, and were probably scared off by my alarm (didn't save the door, but at least it rescued my HU) So now I'm gonna get it delocked with some audi handles.. I noticed you can buy a kit from venom, anyone got this? More money which I don't have :( Ah well at least my grille looks nice :) lol Chris
  20. Just to show my grille in comparisson to the old one, now that I've finally got it sprayed :)
  21. oooh I want the corbeau carrera's 8) If you find out how well they fit then let us know because I'd love the fit those in future
  22. I got some of those aluminium dial surrounds from germany: http://www.tachoringe.de/Shop/shop.html I think its a fair bit cheaper from there than it is from DDI :)
  23. I'd be up for this, or the other one that Jim posted... I'd like to get my supercharger rebuilt and then aim for over 200bhp (although probs a little optimistic) Either way its nice to have an actual figure rather than saying "about this..." all the time :)
  24. I'd quite enjoy doing this for someone actually... going to look at nice local C's... but I can see it all going horribly wrong when I tell someone to travel 5000 miles to see a car which I thought was really nice, only for them to find out its had a secret 1.0l engine transplant, lol But yeah I'd happily go look at some cars around the Middlesbrough, Stockton sort of area. Like others have said I'd be able to inspect bodywork and the obvious as far as engine goes, maybe a bit more for G60's, but any other C's I'd be lost
  25. The picture and the lighting make it look a lot worse than it does in the flesh... but it is slightly indented where the two screws are either side of the needle, because as you say its so thin. This is the only reason I'd like some proper ones... I'd love to print onto the originals, but don't know where I could get this done, and whether it would be worth it for so little gain... Either way I prefer these to the original ones, not keen on white dials as I had these in my old 306, and after a while I thought they looked tacky, so I went for the black again.
