  1. the counsil took my old car away for free. They do it so people don't just abandon cars in the middle of the road. Not sure if its a nation wide thing, or whether its just redcar and cleveland counsil, but might be worth giving them a call...
  2. strangely enough, I think it looks better off
  3. nah nah, definately the same car  sorry
  4. yeah I've been planning on getting the RE's for a while now.. wanted the RZ's at first, but they're a little pricey, and I think the smallest is 18's which I don't really want... just need the money :(
  5. Fixed my drivers door lock today :) Flying through my list :D
  6. Something always needs fixing on the corrado, so lets see everyones 'to do' list, and who can finish it first... or infact at all! My List: Get supercharger rebuilt Fit audi door handles Stop exhaust blowing Fit new windscreen seal Fit new drivers door seal Fix sunroof Fix drivers door lock Fit oil cooler Change oil Fit New Alarm Build Sub Box - (need sub first) Did the last one a while ago, but makes me feel better having something to cross off :D
  7. Definately tint them all red. There was picture posted on here of a C with a set inpors tinted all red except for the reverse light (which kinda stood out a bit) but they looked really good. I think the standard inpros are a bit too 'bling' for the corrado, and stand out too much. But when they're all red, they keep that subtlety, but update the rear end a bit :)
  8. most places don't really know much about it, and if they do, they'll probs charge a s**t lot for doing something that can take 30mins. You can turn the fuelling down easily for mot - just adjust the Boost compensator fuelling. Mine passed fine :) Try whacking some 10k diesel through ur engine too - loads of people seem to think its the best thing ever for ur engine... personally I'm not convinced, as I put some thru my 306 (got a load of white smoke out the back - so must have done something) but didn't feel any different after... I'd say its worth having a go... especially if u can do it yourself, as it's free :)
  9. looks sweet 8) Whats the spec of it? Need to get some coilovers soon so I can be that low
  10. yeah friad if u want more power, you get a bit of smoke with it - its not all the time tho. You can drive around and never kick out a cloud if u know how to drive the car. Below 3000rpm be very light with the throttle, and then once the turbos up to speed the extra air means the engine can burn off the additional fuel. The smoke is just unburned diesel. More smoke, More poke
  11. can't remember what the torque figures were, but you can feel the difference no matter what the actual figures are. The fuel economy is only effected when on full throttle. If u drive with a light foot, then you get the same mpg. You always get smoke with this optimisation thing - it'll amuse u how much. Put ur foot to the floor below 2000rpm (before the turbo has kicked in) and you get a nice black smoke screen (James Bond style if u will) coming out the back of your car
  12. I've seen another Corrado around my area like mine, I always try wave or nod or some kind of "hello you have the same car as me" gesture... but I don't think the guy cares and he just looks back at me blankly :(
  13. The boost compensator fuelling doesn't do all that much, it just seems to govern how much smoke u get. This is very easy to adjust anyway, so do this last and decide how much extra smoke your willing to cope with in relation to power increase. Adjust this in 1/8 turns Fuelling on pump >> for this about 1/4 of a turn is enough. But this depends on higher pressure you go for on the turbo. Obviously the higher turbo pressure, the more fuel you can give the engine. For up to 19psi I'd say 1/4 of a turn is enough. Wastegate >> this needs a boost guage. The turbo can happily take up to around 19psi. Above that your going to start reducing the life of it, also the temperatures start to rise rapidly meaning you need an uprated intercooler or chargecooler, otherwise you don't really see improvements when then engines hot. So do the Main fuelling first >> 1/4 of a turn, then the wastegate up to 18 or 19psi, then just play around with the boost compensator until your happy with the smoke to performance ratio :) Record everything you do so you can put it back to how it was if ur not happy. After I did this to mine it had around 110bhp (estimate) however on a rolling road day one guy got 118bhp out of his, and he was only running about 17psi I think... so well worth it :)
  14. check out my website: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/ken.waters1/306_tuning.htm I wrote this guide for what ur wanting to do back when I had a Dturbo. If u need any more help/advice then let us know (and I'll try remember what I can :)) Chris
  15. I'm supprised so many people aren't keen on the number plate relocation, I thought it was a fairly obvious bodywork modification for the corrado... it was one of the top things to do for me  But as everyone keeps saying, each to their own (I don't actually like the wheels all that much.. must be only person on the forum  )
  16. Got a new record for myself.. got 132 C last night !!  After realising and slowing down, was going round a roundabout and the oil pressure warning light (and buzzer! just incase u didn't notice the light) came on! Stopped the car and let it cool down. Oil level seemed to be pretty low, which is kinda strange since I just changed the oil a month or so ago.. 10mins later started her up and she was fine. Scared me a little tho, that oil cooler will definately be here soon!
  17. I like this bumper, think it looks quite cool considering I usually hate aftermarket kits for the C...
  18.   love it!! Gotta see more of that interior, looks very very nice indeed! Also been thinking about doing the whole removal of boot lights myself, but havn't seen it done all that often so wasn't sure how it would look, but I love that too! Do those clusters have fog lights in them? if not, doesn't it make it non road legal? a problem I was thinking how to get around... Worth the wait  Edit: Just noticed, where's ur glove box?
  19. Lot of red X's for me :( Welcome :D
  20. Whats this year? whats "in" at the moment  sorry for OT
  21. Thats not a fantasticly terrible idea. Although my car would have some random coloured doors on for a while, which would look nice... I'll have to see what kind of condition they're in to decide which to use (obviously wanna use the best ones). Thanks for that henny :)
  22. ah yeah didn't think of that. Shouldn't be too much of a problem tho, if all else fails I guess I could get some late door cards for them? Good excuse for a leather interior :D
  23. Hey guys, just need to know if the doors off a '95 Corrado will fit onto a '91? http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... 909#135909 Cheers, Chris
  24. I just love the feeling of bass, the way it vibrates the whole car when you have a loud enough systems :) I got kinda addicted to it after one of my mates (!!extreme boy racer warning here!!) put a sony Xplod Sub in his 1.0l Corsa (sorry for putting that image in your heads) lol - it was pathetic but got me hooked. In my last car I had a resonant engineering XXX12 sub and 35.1d amp (about 1500W RMS). I had to sell that to raise cash for the C, but I've got some more, so I'm looking to get a Directed 2400d (2400W RMS) and 2 Resonant Engineering subs - not sure which ones yet. Can't Wait
  25. I would buy a head unit with a detatchable front... however mine would only sell for £90 and then I'd have to spend £200 on one thats the same (cos I like it) but has a removable front. Its upsetting how little stuffs worth after buying it :(
